When I walked in, I was met with warmth from the employee who made us sign a waiver, went over the menu, and helped my daughter put her socks on. The place is nice sized with plenty to do for children under the age of 5 including a small selection of lunch items for kids and many toys and fun sized items. Our toddler had a blast going down the slide and playing in the makeshift grocery store. 10 I would absolutely go again if I'm ever on work travel to Nashville with the kiddo

Being there with a toddler meant constantly moving to maintain supervision. But it was laid back and everyone was nice. We made a reservation but it was not crowded on a Wednesday morning, even with rolling start times. Outside patio space was small but cute, but also concrete - just something to be mindful of if you have a kid who goes headfirst into everything like mine. The entrance is adorable but the play space isn't closed off from the lobby. They have a little rounded mini doorframe for littles and my kid thought it was hilarious to go in and out. The place isn't big enough that they are going to get very far, but I was surprised it wasn't gated. More expensive than play cafes I've been to in other cities, but still worth a stop if you're in town with littles.

Originally the city's printing hub in the early 1900s, it transformed into a popular entertainment alley in the 1940s, providing a "grittier", more intimate alternative to Broadway's honky-tonks. Our experience here included an evening of drinks and music at Alley Taps, and just enjoying a few walks up and down the street. We had already learned some of the history here from our Joyride tour, which added nicely to our exposure.

3.5 stars…read more Printer's Alley prints the chapter of an alley with two chapters. In chapter one it served as Nashville's printing hub in the early 1900s. In the second chapter that dates from the 1940s to the time of this writing, it is a nightclub and bar destination. In contrast to the nearby Broadway-Honkeytonk Highway, it is far smaller. It is two blocks long bounded by Commerce Street to the south, 4th Avenue to the west, Union Street to the North, and 3rd Avenue to the east. For purposes of this review, I am rating it from the perspective of walking in it during the late morning. When I experienced Printer's Alley it was part of a walk through Downtown Nashville. In the late morning it was quiet. I walked it a couple of times. From the northernmost point at Union Street to the southernmost point at Commerce Street it was a 0.21 mile walk that took six minutes. Unlike the nearby Honky Tonk Highway, it was very laid back and had an off the beaten path to it although it is a block from Broadway. I was impressed with the cleaniness of the alleyway. The historic buildings were free of graffiti and vandalism. That created a better perception of safety. Along the way there were a few signs that told the Printer's Alley story. One of them says, "Probation ends here." I noticed that the largest concentration of nightclubs and other businesses were just north of Church Street. The string lights called attention to these businesses. From my time in historic Printer's Alley, I saw that it was bookended by two modern buildings: UBS Center to the north and the At&T Building-the Tallest Building in Tennessee to the south. I cannot help but note that if the AT&T Building weren't there that possibly Printer's Alley could connect to Broadway. From a daytime perspective I give Printer's Alley Three Stars. In the daytime it is an interesting place to walk through as a part of a Downtown Nashville hike.

They have great outside seating with full service. The cocktails were well made and they also serve beer and wine. I have not tried the food as there is so much to do in Nashville I go for the cocktails and the view. I have been on nights where they had a DJ and found it to be very loud. As it is in the Gulch it is close to many restaurants and bars. So stop on by for a couple of drinks and the view before you hit the city.

I *am* surprised at all the other raving reviews below…read more I was confused and put off from the minute I walked through the door until the time I left. I can only imagine that The Gulch has sticking power. I don't hang out there often but I must be an outlier. Earlier that evening, I was at another rooftop bar that had room to breathe. Proof was standing room only. I didn't understand. The music was loud (and fairly obnoxious). I was hard to turn around. Seating (or, standing to be fair) was hard to come by. And the people just kept coming. From the rude bouncer/doorman to the ruder server, I was utterly flummoxed by what I was experiencing and the fact that so many people seemed to be into it. The crowd vibe was off as well. I was bumped into three times. Propositioned once. Cackled at a handful of times. As soon as I ordered my drink I was told to pay immediately (before I received the drink). Granted, there was no way I was opening a tab but the chain of events was a first (in my long, storied history of drinking at bars/clubs). By the time a drunk sad girl™ asked to share my high boy I was ready to go. Forever. View was decent. There are better in town. Heck, there are better in The Gulch.

I would say that I really liked it. It took about 30ish minutes to complete. We didn't get food or drinks because we planned on getting them at our next stop. While this place was lovely and fun, I didn't not like how it started for a hot sec. Originally, I purchased a Groupon for their 9 hole experience which was $27. I got my code and put it in the website. However, the website wouldn't accept it. So when I went to call the restaurant to see how to correct the issue, there was no answer for 5 calls and an left voicemail. So I decided to purchase another 9 hole experience on their website. Which meant I paid $61 to play this game. But Groupon will refund me.
