My seat G4 did not recline so we asked for assistance, and an employee checked out the chair. He pulled it out from the wall & flipped it over & wow, there was so much popcorn & debris behind the chair. Yikes! Anyway, he fiddled with it & flipped it back over & it reclined. Yay! But then my friend who was supposed to sit in G3 canceled last minute. I purchased the tickets for everyone so I went to the guest services desk to explain the situation, and Robert kindly processed a refund for that ticket without an issue. Very much appreciated! The employee scanning tickets at the entrance was also very nice. The 3:15 pm movie started at 3:43pm after 7 previews and a few commercials. When the movie began, the picture quality & sound were great. We enjoyed the film and we would come back to this theater. I just won't think about what is behind the seats! There are alcoholic drinks available at MacGuffins & the usual concessions are on offer at the concessions stand. They also have several of those soda machines with the touch screens where you can choose from hundreds of different soft drinks! We didn't purchased any treats this time because we'd just eaten at Shake Shack down the street, but the prices seemed reasonable. There's plenty of parking in the underground lot & the bathrooms, while still dated, were clean and functional. In my previous review, I mentioned the renovations happening in the mall. Well, they're done & the mall looks great. There's new beautiful flooring, lots of colorful & aesthetic planters, a grassy area for kids to play & folks to rest and lots of interesting businesses. In fact, there's a Kura Revolving Sushi across from the theater! So what are you waiting for? Time for sushi & a movie! :) Peace.

The seats don't even recline an inch. Think, flying to 3 hours in coach without the ability to recline a tiny bit. The screen looked tiny and far away. We chose row P because that would be a great spot if it was truly IMAX. Now we are going to go to LA to see the Odyssey the way it was intended. Thanks for lying to us AMC. We wasted our time and money. (PS movie was great.)

Can't give this anything less than 5 stars.... I absolutely love this event, and couldn't wait for it to start. I was there the first run this year and will go again next week. Only a couple of nights each year, on Thursday summer nights, the San Diego Museum of Arts hosts free movie nights where they show oldies, like Hitchcock movies on a screen in Balboa Park. It attracts a big crowd, and everybody comes there about one or two hours before the start of the whole thing, and brings chairs, tables, blankets, Snuggies (saw one!), board games, food and wine. The movie starts at 8PM, but if you want to be sure to see anything, be there no later than 6-something. Most people come right after work or are 65+ so don't work to begin with. That's the beauty of the event: you see a great variety of people: young, old, fat, rich, poor, families with kids, groups of friends, dates, students... all share the love of living in San Diego and spending time outdoors. So unless an obese person sits in front of you or you have screaming kids around, you will love everyone and everyone loves you. The movies are cultural and usually oldies so if you're not into that, you might not like it. But even if I couldn't see a thing or if they showed reruns of Sesame Street (I love Elmo in fact), I would still go. It's worth going solely for hanging out on a blanket on a summer night with friends, watching the stars or other people having a good time. One of my favorite things to do is crab food on the go and a bottle of wine at a deli downtown or in Little Italy, then head over to the park with friends. You often meet cool new people too since everybody is in a good mood and shares blanket spots. The very first time I got here, I was unprepared and fashionably late... I arrived one minute before the movie started, so it was packed... then cool people offered us perfect spots close to the screen... all in exchange for my Mona Lisa meatball sandwich. Well worth to starve for. I'm bummed that next week is the last one of this year.... then another whole year of waiting until it starts again. So one more chance to go this year... I even like this a bit better than Cinema under the Stars, although that's a good (paid) substitute and runs more often and until October. If you go, bring a pillow or a chair (or something to lay your head on, believe me you want to alternate sitting/laying down and it's awkward not being able to rest your head on something), a blanket, food, drinks, friends or anyone you don't want to talk to for two hours and you're ready to picnic!

Regardless, it is generally a great place to catch a show. Through the years, I have seen many great shows here including Flogging Molly, The Shins, Prince, Interpol, and many others. I hadn't been in a couple years, but last week my husband and I went to see The Human Leave, Soft Cell, and Alison Moyet (Yaz). It was an incredible show. Starting out, there are a few things that I dislike about the venue. First, because it is on a college campus, parking can be difficult and you are basically forced into the $30 paid parking garage. Also, I was suffering from a recent sports injury, making the trek across campus to the theater a bit of a task. In the past, the lines for swag and drinks have been nearly impossible, though, this time, they were much improved. Finally, the trek to the ladies' room is a bit far depending on your seat. Also, it is not a large restroom and the line goes slowly, However, it is clean. On the flip side, there are a lot of positive points to this venue. The location is generally decent as it is not far from town. Despite the crowds coming in for shows, it doesn't take too long to get in and out of the parking lots. The event staff consists of many college students working concessions or ushering, and they are very friendly. It is really a nice, open, outdoor, relaxing venue. There is not a bad seat in the house (as many other reviews state). I have been in front, in back, and in the middle. I have been able to see and hear the show very well from each of my seats. It has also been my experience that the crowd has been generally a well-behaved, polite group, though I guess you can't alway count on that. All in all, it is a great place to catch a show, especially during the beautiful San Diego summer months.

This rating solely reflects their seemingly rampant insect problem…read more I recently went to a concert here and spotted at least 6 cockroaches scurrying around in just my aisle alone during the 2 hours that I was there. We were so disgusted that we decided to leave our seats and go to the back in hopes of avoiding them, but they were literally everywhere and people were stepping on them too. So gross.... Aside from the unwanted visitors, the venue itself was pretty cool! It's an outdoor amphitheater with not a single bad seat in the house.

At least this year they were able to rent out part of the SDCCU Stadium lot, so there's a ton of parking and no need for a shuttle to get there. There were a good amount of vendors, but the food was really just mediocre. You also really have to do your research on all the vendors before you go, because the one we decided to get was awful. The one we went to had these BBQ Squid Skewers which we ordered, and they were very undercooked. They were pretty much still raw. We took it back to them and they just cooked it a little bit more and the second time around the body of the squid was cooked better, but the tentacles were still very raw. Some of the vendors also didn't really plan accordingly because by 8 pm, before peak time, some of them were already sold out of items. Most of the main course type foods were just average, overpriced food. I think the better items to get here are the drinks and the desserts, so I would recommend getting something to eat before you arrive, and then wait in line for the drinks and desserts. There was absolutely no seating at all, so a lot of people, us included, just ended up sitting on the ground to eat our food. There were maybe like 5 tables that I saw in the entire venue which were obviously occupied very very quickly. There was a ton of open space, even with the amount of people walking around and the long lines, so there should definitely be a lot more tables than there actually were. I hope that next year they really rent out way more tables and chairs because this year it was just not enough. Like I said, I arrived around 5:30 pm, and I was glad that I did, because by 8 pm, some of the vendors would run out of certain items, and the lines were just so ridiculously long, which led to a ridiculously long wait, for ridiculously mediocre food. When we left around 9:45, the line to just get inside was so long that it reached the concrete border at the lot and had to make a bend in order to not go past it. If you're planning on coming here, I highly recommend going closer to the opening time because there is no way that I'd pay $5 to wait hours in line for sold out food. I went in early, so the wait times weren't so bad for me, which is probably why my experience wasn't as bad as others. It was still pretty bad though.

I find it humorous reading the one-star reviews from earlier tonight because the 2019 version of…read morethe SD Night Market was an improvement over the past years, especially the cluster that was on Convoy St in 2018. That being said, many of the critiques were spot-on and accurate. Here were my observations for the first night of the event... Pros: * There were many more parking spaces than in the Kearny Mesa area. A shuttle was no longer needed to transport people to the site. * Food vendors were more numerous this time (~32 compared to less than 10). * There was plenty of open space away from the food lines to walk around and not feel overcrowded. Cons: * The wait to get into the stadium parking lot was ridiculously long. The organizers needed to hire SD Police to direct traffic and override the signals which were useless. * There was a competing auto festival on the other side of the stadium lot so that added to the congestion on Friars Rd. * The admission lines should have been more efficiently managed especially for those who had already purchased a ticket on Eventbrite. * Some vendors really underestimated the customer demand and ran out of food early. * The food lines did take a long time as many of the booths seemed caught off guard by the crowds. Overall, I gave my experience 2.5 stars and rounded up because trust me, the SD Night Market has been even more poorly organized than what we have seen so far. PS: I heard the Fire Marshal had to shut down admission around 10 pm because the capacity of 5,000 attendees had been reached.

We had one guy standing in the aisle a few rows behind us practically screaming his rehearsed lines and jokes. I've seen the movie before, both at the Ken and at home, and I couldn't hear most of the movie over the cast members just being truly obnoxious. I don't remember RHPS at the Ken being as crude and obnoxious 7 or 8 years ago as it is now. A majority of the audience was new people (virgins) so they have never seen the movie at the Ken and it would've been a great experience had the cast actually led the audience in doing the things they said to do at the beginning in the "Rules", which by the way took almost 30 minutes. And you can't hear or understand the rules because the MC is yelling into the mic, and the cast members are all having private conversations and then shouting their lines over him. It turns into a "who can say the funny line loudest" competition very quickly. And a lot of the lines that the cast did end up shouting were rehearsed responses to dialogue going on that the audience wouldn't know. The only good part of the night was the guy who played Riff Raff. He was the ONLY cast member that actually maintained his character and was entertaining. I thought the whole point of being an actor was to entertain an audience, not to entertain yourself and your friends in a private inside joke??
