The entire building, including our room looked to be recently renovated. The balcony offered a beautiful ocean view. There was plenty of deck space and chairs for relaxing and enjoying the salt air. Their garden is full of bird houses and watching all the activity was delightful. On the downside, housekeeping was a bit lax: no clean dish towels, bed left unmade, etc. Also, there is no pool or restaurant. read more

Oh my, we love this place. Be prepared to pay a high price but the rooms and ambiance are very new, clean and so nice. If you want a quick weekend at the beach where you can relax on the shaded balcony with a beautiful ocean view, this is the place. The walk to the beach is pretty short and the beach is wonderful, too. This place has a homey, noncorporate vibe which I wasn't sure that I liked at first. There is no pool and that was a little disappointing but as I soaked in the atmosphere, enjoyed the artwork, unusual landscaping, porch swings, bird feeders and stories about the owner(s), I fell in love. read more

We had a wedding at Mexico Beach and the reception was held at the Driftwood Inn. The Event Room was a nice size and the view was amazing! Or experience was superb with their helpfulness and communication. I would strongly recommend to anyone having an event in this area. It's top notch! read more

Very nice place! The staff (Heidi and Amy) are sweet and so are the cleaning people! We got to meet the owners, Peggy and Tom Wood! They are "down to earth" folks! Biggest thing missing: a pool! But you have the whole Gulf of Mexico within about 100 steps! read more

We were huge fans of Driftwood Inn pre CAT 5 Hurricane Michael. so charming, oozing with beachside character and art and Nature everywhere you glanced. Unbelievably, the intrepid Wood family (the Wood in DriftWOOD) rebuilt this gem like Phoenix rising from the ashes. This time with an eye to hurricane resistant architectural appointments on a humble luxury scale. The new V2.0 is still brimming with charm everywhere your eyes wander. Mermaid Sculptures abound. Quirky birdhouses adorn every nook, and crannies are crammed with delightfully unpretentious fine art. The annual pilgrimage of Purple Martins (they're birds. Google them. I'll wait.) starts on Valentines Day and lasts til Independence Day. They spend their days playfully skydiving and cavorting with artful abandon. Then towards dark they pop across the street and feast on the mosquitoes in the bogs. Retiring to their lofty handmade apartment houses in front of the Inn. We were just there with our Sculpture Group of 20 years to celebrate the Renaissance of this beloved treasure. It felt like no time had passed and yet everything was turned up a notch, but the essence of what makes this place magical remains in tact. We'll be back! read more

The room I stayed in was clean, furniture is somewhat "dated" but goes with the overall bed and breakfast theme. Scenery of the grounds is amazing! Lost of natural flora and fauna. This place could be the best, but the staff makes it one of the worst places I've been. They are so unhelpful, so rude, why are they in the hospitality business if they dislike people so much. They even turn off the wireless internet at night! When else would you use it while at the beach? The ambiance and location is great but the staff makes me not want to go back. We've come here four times and each time is awesome. The rooms are very nice and clean. Almost like having a small apartment. Everytime we come to Mexico city, this is where we stay. I only suggest to wash your dishes before using them. The staff has always been stellar in helping us get a room that suits us. There are swings and play area for kids along with several sitting areas for adults or families. There are grills for cooking out on and our porch to sit and eat. We've come here, just hubby and I and we have brought the whole family, including the grand baby. This place is perfect for a relaxing vacation. read more

The building is nice but not worth the money it cost nightly. We paid for beach front and due to the over growth of trees and plants you can not see the beach. We paid $190/night and was there 2 days and housekeeping never came once. I mentioned this to the lady at the front desk and she didn't really have a response. She said they kept house keeping logs and that was all that was said. With that said we only had 2 bath towels/wash clothes for 2 days for 3 people. Trash was never emptied and was over flowing. There was only a half a role of tissue in the bathroom. Needless to say I had to make a trip to store late at night to purchase tissue paper. read more

TERRIBLE FOR WEDDINGS! This is a pretty location, however it is not good for weddings. The owner & her daughter, Dianne, are very unfriendly & unhelpful. Dianne was rude to a lot of my guests, she made things so much more difficult & stressful than they should have been, and there was a lot dog poop in the area where they told us to setup for the reception. My guests, husband, & I were so unhappy with Dianne. Save yourself a lot of stress & do not have your wedding here! read more

I love this place. We've been here 3 times since last summer. We are a family of 5, which includes a 6, 5 and 2 year old. When I first went looking for a place to stay I wanted something family friendly. Driftwood Inn is it!! Right on the beach, PLUS they have a playground right off the beach for the kids that has shovels, trucks, you name it. Yes, the room decor is a little dated, but who cares!! The only times we were in there was to eat and sleep. The owners are wonderful! They have this huge Great Dane that lounges on the swings!! He's so sweet!! I would highly recommend to anyone with it without kids! Truly a gem!!! read more

My grandparents used to come here every year and this is my first trip back in 2 decades. Lots of memories. Quaint room, 2 queen beds, 3 piece bathroom, small kitchenette, refrigerator/freezer (non ice making), kitchen table, VERY short walk to the beach. Complementary coffee from 8 am - 6 pm. Cute souvenirs and adorable greeters ( Great Dane and Macow Parrot) pet friendly is a big plus. read more

If you like seclusion and expensive rooms, come here. Rooms are out dated, bed looked like it was about to fall apart. Cabinets were discusting. The room size is good, but for $200 a night they need some serious effort put into their rooms. How hard is it to use bedskirts to cover box springs? And there is no pool!! Even the ghetto motels in PCB have pools! We walked in the dirty room after spending $200, walked around to look for a pool.... Then asked if we could have a refund and leave. After only 45 mins of being there, still got charged $60 for a "cleaning fee". It seems like more of a private hippy commune. read more

The DriftWood Inn is a beautiful place . The grounds are so charming you could wander and wander , plenty if lounging areas , great access to the beach . We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bath Victorian Home . It was perfect for a family and yes pets . It nice , fully equippedand it had a grill too but not too nice that you are afraid to touch anything lol . The gift shop is great too ,,i couldnt stay out of there . The owners are very helpful also . We had a great time ! read more

The quaint facade of this inn enticed us to stay on our recent vacation. We wondered why we were given a sheet of "rules" on check-in that stated we had to give a 24 hour notice if early departure should be necessary. Upon reaching our antique furnished room, we understood why. The mattresses on both beds were worn out and the pillows were flat. The antique wardrobe smelled so musty, we didn't want to hang our clothes in it, and the drawers of the antique dresser were broke. There was no closet, so we had to leave our clothes in our bags. The rooms have back doors that open to a back walkway (no private balconies overlooking the gulf). We tried to open the windows to invite the fresh sea breezes in, but the windows wouldn't stay open. And the view is partially obstructed by the palm trees and bird houses. Bring your own shampoo and soap. We have become accustomed to small shampoos and two small soap bars, but there is no shampoo, and each room is only allotted one small bar of soap per day that you have to move from the sink to the shower. After a miserable night on the horrible beds, we scouted out vacated rooms the next morning. The maids lead us to a better room, and the front desk agreed to switch our room. The second room was better, but not by much. The mattresses were better, but the pillows were still flat. Plus, the toilet lid was missing; we lost a toothbrush and mascara. Every room but ours had a very large dog. The back "yard" of the inn is where the dogs "relieve" themselves. The lady on the front desk and maids were nice, but the owner was rude to us from the time of check-in. We spoke to others staying at the Driftwood, and they reported the same rude indifference from the owner. There seemed to be long-term renters who stayed the winter with their dogs that were the only ones the owner deemed worthy of a smile and actual conversation. Daily or weekly patrons were not worth her attention. Parking is tight and very challenging. If you just need a place to stay with your dog, this place might do, but I can't imagine any other reason to stay here. read more

This place is pretty adorable. Very eclectic and there's even a parrot by the reception. Our room faced the ocean and we shared a balcony with two other rooms. They have hoses to wash off and swing seats to enjoy the view. Really close to some great seafood close by. read more

Charming Victorian Inn right on the gulf. Very cute and a nice old lady to check you in. Nothin really fancy about the rooms but it's quant, has all sorts a picturesque views of the gulf from many different porches, swings and beach chairs. Their smallest room was bigger than any normal hotel, it has a full kitchen in each room and they are all decorated with antique furniture and nice firm mattresses. I'm staying here alone for only one night but I would bring my family here in a second. You should too. read more

Just returned from 3rd stay this year...my family & I love the 'old Florida' feel of the place. It's cozy, quant & short walk to the beach. We can see the ocean from every room we have ever stayed in (4 different rooms). It's definitely NOT luxurious- Not professionally managed- but owned and ran by family/friends. It does have some old (wood) smelly drawers in some of the kitchens or closets, and could use a recliner or comfy sofa in the room, but the antique furniture-the overall landscape of gardens, swings and 'southern living' style/charm keep us coming back for more 'simple beauty & elegance'..... read more
