I had a great, albeit, short stay in Homer. Just an overnight and it being June - it was never really night. I stayed in room 7 which is the pictured room and had a beautiful view of the ocean and the mountains. The bed was super comfy and I slept like a rock. It is a shared bathroom situation here which I'm not always keen on but it was never an issue, was easy. Door locks and a nice hot shower. The staff was very friendly and talked to the woman at the front desk for a bit and then across the street talked to her daughter at AJ's restaurant. I felt like I was part of the town for a minute there. There's a great restaurant across the street (AJ's), like about thirty feet away and Bunnell Street Art Center next to that. From check in to check out, everything was perfect. We stayed at the 'beach house' and... WOW...everything you need with views that dare you took look away. There is an amazing attention to detail in this place! The room where we stayed had everything you could want, or imagine. Wine glasses. Electric wine opener and other knick knacks to match. Bottle opener. Very comfortable king sized bed with carpet along the side and tile underneath. Which meant your bare feet weren't on cold floor. The bathroom had a fan that shoots out hot air. In many ways, it had the homey touch of an Air Bnb or a VRBO. Dish Network. There were a few confusions at checkin (I had two reservations since I was partially in town for work) but they smoothly worked through it with us! read more

We loved this RV park! The staff were so friendly and they were so ready and willing to go above and beyond the expectations. The facilities were all super clean. The water was hot. The toilets were great. The laundry worked as it should. The flowers in the front were soooo cute too. 5/5 experience here. HOWEVVVERRRRRR we are not a dog family and did not realize that it was pet friendly. Maybe all RV parks are, I'm not sure this was our first long trip going from Fairbanks to Homer. But dogs don't respect quiet time especially not husky's that sing and whine a lot. Other than that noise it was perfect. read more

Thank you for such an amazing stay!! I just finished a 3 night stay at Driftwood Inn and it was pretty much perfect! My room was very clean, my bed was comfy, and I had plenty of towels (and not the scratchy kind). I had an amazing beach view from my room. Absolutely every staff I encountered was extremely helpful and pleasant. If you don't mind using a shared bathroom or not having a giant flat screen TV- this is a perfect place to stay. It's a long walk to the spit, but there are bike rentals by Safeway and cabs are very reasonable. There are very good restaurants for both breakfast in dinner right across the street. I will definitely be staying again on my next trip and recommending to friends. read more

Incredibly clean, quiet rooms + comfy beds + FIVE STAR customer service = I'll definitely be back! My sister and I stayed here last week and loved it! We got a bunk bed room upstairs - the room was very clean and comfortable with a shared bathroom/showers (also super clean!) just next door. We never encountered any trouble accessing a bathroom whenever we wanted for showers or to use the restroom. The place was also surprisingly quiet - we didn't hear any of our neighbors at all. Overall, everyone we met on staff was incredibly friendly and all around helpful! A few examples: Originally, we only booked 1 night, but changed our plans last min and they were so wonderful accommodating our request for an additional night. When we couldn't seem to get a reservation at our #1 dinner location (AJ's across the street), Driftwood staff worked their magic and managed to get us in with only a few hours notice - talk about A+ concierge service! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for clean, comfortable accommodation with great customer service at a reasonable price! read more

We Yelped a couple places to stay and just drove up and got a room. We had a shared bathroom upstairs but that was okay. It was clean, nice, pleasant. The people who run it were super nice. There is a great patio if the weather allows overlooking the ocean and it's only a block from the beach. For the price, I'm not sure you could beat this place. read more

I loved this place! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the desk staff friendly and helpful, and the place was just rusticly cute. There's an option for rooms with shared facilities, a common area with fridge, hot drinks, honor system snacks.... the main area has comfy overstuffed furniture, games, a fireplace.... The room was small, but well done. Built in bed on the window, comfy bed and pillows, small tv as an afterthought, and unneeded. The price was high, but competitive for Homer... the shared loo was clean and WARM, the hall slightly sloped and narrow... there really is nothing I disliked here. Free wifi and a kuerig in the room. In Homer, this is where I stay, instead of a more traditional hotel. The location is directly on the beach, the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and quiet, and the price is right. Please adjust your expectations from a standard hotel -- know you're getting a bed and a shower and walking distance to Two Sisters Bakery and a local pub across the street. The rooms which resemble a ship are tight (like a ship ... imagine that) with bedspace for two adults and a child to sleep, and room for very little else, including any extra bags. In the mornings, a cup of coffee on the back deck of Driftwood Inn, as the mountains break through the clouds, is one of the simpler joys of Homer. read more

Refrigerator downstairs free to use with a small ice maker. Self serve Laundry mat, $3 wash $2 dryer with buyable soap on site, front desk can provide some quarters if needed. Free parking out front. Patio deck with a fire pit area provide your own wood. Front desk service til midnight that was very helpful and accommodating. I stayed one night before a 6 night backcountry trip. very affordable, great room with bunkbeds and a shared bath. snacks in the lobby. their check in time is around 3p.m. but i arrived early and they had my room for me. also, i was able to store my non-backcountry gear for the time i was gone and shower when i returned for a fee. it's walking distance to restaurants, the two sisters bakery, safeway, and visitor's center,etc. i would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends. read more

We rolled into Homer with no reservation and found that many places were booked or WAY over priced ($180+). We ended up driving by Driftwood and stopped in to inquire. The rooms are "ship" themed, so the first floor all have full wooden interiors and small bathrooms. The upstairs has bunk beds and two shared bathrooms for the floor. We stayed upstairs: our room was small, but bright and clean. The bathrooms were clean and there was never a wait for the restroom, so that was nice. There isn't a breakfast, and they seem to charge for everything: snacks, water, etc... The Inn is several miles from the Homer Spit (were all the action is) so it's best if you have a vehicle. BUT - it is right on the beach, so the views at night and sunrise are unbeatable! As some have mentioned, the management isn't overly friendly (just friendly enough to get by.) Driftwood Inn was decent stay, and one of the cheaper places we found, but for $112 a night, with a shared bathroom I would say it's just okay. read more

My boyfriend and our friend wanted to get out of Anchorage for a night, so we decided to just swing on down to Homer and from our friend's recommendation, we stayed at Driftwood Inn. Oh, this was great. It's definitely worn and rustic, and it's far from the Sheraton, but you can tell that the owners put a lot of attention and love into their business. They made the most out of the oddly-shaped rooms, with how they designed the bunks and placed the other furniture. They're nice, helpful people. If you're in Homer, you better not be wasting your time away in your hotel room anyway, so the Driftwood Inn is a great place to drop your stuff off, sleep, shower, and use as your launching pad to walk or drive around the town. read more

We reluctantly checked out of the Kachemak Cottage last week. We have now stayed in all of the options at Driftwood Inn over the years, and we have enjoyed them all. On our most recent trip we were getting our two little ones together with my brother and nephew and the Kachemak Cottage worked out great for our two families. We loved the play area, the expansive front yard, access to a clean and nice laundry facility, and we especially loved running on the beautiful beach in close proximity. Thanks!!! read more

This hotel advertises on TripAdvisor $124. for what they call a ships quarters room. On the ad, it states to call the hotel directly for a better deal. (See Attached photo). Upon calling, THERE IS NO BETTER DEAL. The lady quoted the same exact price. After bringing it to her attention, she said "no it's not false advertising", "take it or leave it" and "good luck". Thank you, Driftwood inn! You saved some asses! We missed our ferry to Kodiak (that we signed up for 8 months ago- for car, kids and dogs too). For those of you reading - DON'T DO THAT. It set us back a couple of days but we were fortunate to get another and not miss any flights. Anyhow, other places we tried were sold out and when my sister put up an impromptu tent in the spit it couldn't hold all of us so a couple of us got two nights in one of your last rooms. It was such a pleasant surprise. Tiny but clean. Shared bathroom but clean. Completely retro but friendly. Private and quiet and you wouldn't let my husband up to see me or give out my room number until I identified him. You even fit a TV in there and had lots of reading material on hand. My daughter thought the "honesty jar" for pastries was particularly amusing bc in San Jose we trust no one ;) First night was perfection. Second night I took off a star bc I was a bit claustrophobic on the upper bunk bc it was so close to the ceiling. But all in all very grateful and awesome staff. read more

Small but clean room and facilities. No kitchen though. Nice location near ocean front. The building we stayed in has no indoor cooking facility so if you want to make your own meal in a kitchen you may want to stay else where. Most snacks and drink provided in the cabinet and refrigerator have price tags on them and you need to pay for them. read more

We recently had our wedding on the lawn of the Driftwood Inn and it was the perfect place. Everyone loved the three lodges. The beautiful living rooms and kitchens gave our families the perfect place to get to know each other. When we first moved to Homer, back in 2001, we stayed at the Driftwood Inn for two weeks while waitin for the condo to be fully ready for move-in. Robin was the manager at the time and I cannot say enough great things about her! She isnt with the company any longer and honestly, it is their loss! The place is quaint, having been everything from an auto garage to ( thnk) a school house or generl store or SOMETHING wildly NOT a motel in the past. The room are cute, clean and the winter rates back then were perfect for a single mom's budget. The little kitchen shared by all, with an honor system, for having hot tea, coffees, bagels, etc was perfect. We all shared the fridge and could make our own microwaved foods. The view was fabulous, the walk down to the beach just a hop and a skip. All in all, I really liked the place and hve since recommended it to many. Lately though, I HAVE heard some not-so-posiive reviews in person, not on yelp, but in a tiny town like Homer, that could be professional jealousy (or, I should say UNprofessional). I haven't stayed there in a decade but from the outside it looks just the same ... quaint, clean, and downhome comfy. They had a nice living room and many of the guests, even in off season as it was, met there to chat and play games, or use the complimentary laptop. You could do laundry if I recall, although I didn't have to. There were just so many LITTLE extras that they added up to one BIG good time! Being in Homer in February isn't that much fun, but Robin and other staffers made it that way for us. I give it five stars for MY stay, even long ago, because I think Robin was both being her lovely self but she was also doing what the owners, Adrian and hubby, wanted. My son and I enjoyed those two weeks, and it really helped set the tone for us when Robin introduced me to Homer. read more

Stayed 3 nights. I liked the RV Park and office and staff were real nice. Reasonable rates for RV camping. Free coffee and TV. Good clean showers. It is in old part of Homer, Alaska. We had beautiful view of Kachemak Bay. Only downside is the house across the street was a "crack house" I was told. People came in and out and drove by and parked on the side road which faced the Bay and did "their dope thing" in their cars which faced the Bay. Same cars drove by and parked every day, Just so sad to see that going on. read more

Just like staying in a ship, a spacious, clean, comfortable ship. My wife and I had the "Captain's quarters" room on the second floor with our two ten year olds. Lots of room for us and our luggage and the view out over the bay and the eagles roosting on the adjacent roof were spectacular. An excellent place to explore maybe the prettiest little town and best eating town in South Central Alaska. It's a short walk to Fat Olives (highly recommended restaurant) and Two Sisters Bakery, which we missed but people rave about. I'm a travel agent and I'm pretty picky about where I stay. We got into Homer later than planned and the front desk agent was able to stay there until we got in. A++ for customer service, which is huge in my book! We stayed at the Bluffview Lodge, room 29. Fabulous! Loved the nice deck and the wonderful view of Bishop's Beach. Used to picnic there a lot when we were kids. Very clean room, spacious bathroom, Keurig coffee maker great touch. I really appreciated the building's quiet time from 10pm - 9am. That ensured we got a good night's sleep! Would definitely recommend. read more

Our neighbors had a noisy barking dog, but that's not management's fault and they took care of it as SOON as we said something. Historic building overlooking Kachemak Bay with the mountains and glaciers in the distance. Friendly staff, clean and homey. VERY affordable - my single room with shared bath was $75 a night during the summer. The owners also operate a fishing charter business and have a couple of other hotels/inns and an RV park. Loved staying at the Driftwood Inn. My bed was really uncomfortable though. If not for the bed, I would stay there again in a heartbeat, but I couldn't sleep a wink all week. read more

This place is unique the manager is great. We had a great time in Homer. The manager told us where to go and what to do. Two days was not long enough. If you stay here rethink the captains room.
