The staff was very friendly and talked to the woman at the front desk for a bit and then across the street talked to her daughter at AJ's restaurant. I felt like I was part of the town for a minute there. There's a great restaurant across the street (AJ's), like about thirty feet away and Bunnell Street Art Center next to that. I will never forget sitting in bed and watching thousands of shorebirds fly by over the course of our stay in early May, or the 5 eagles that flew right above my head as I soaked in the hot tub. The hotel staff use texting as the primary way to communicate. This was nice - when we wanted extra towels we just sent a text.
