I have lived in Drexel for 2 years and am moving out at the end of the month. I really liked the apartments in the first year and a half that I lived here as it was very reasonable and close to downtown and walking distance from my work. The management was also pretty good at taking care of issues.
The latter half of my second year was a total mess. I started experiencing mouse problems and unfortunately, despite numerous complaints, not a lot was done from the management. The building is old with many holes and cracks in the cabinet walls etc and I requested the cabinets to be completed replaced and an exterminator to be called to solve the situation but I was told that they couldn't do this. I put up with this for about 6 months and eventually decided to move when I saw a mouse walking around in my bedroom which really creeped me out. I also saw a dead mouse in one of my cabinets during these 6 months. This has truly been a constant stress. However, this past month, after a bad review on Yelp and much complaint, the management did bring in an exterminator, and despite the cracks still persisting, I have not seen a mouse again. I am not sure if the problem has been permanently fixed or if it is too early to tell, although I believe it is the latter.
Either way, the pros for drexel are: reasonable rent, very good water pressure (my husband LOVES this part about my apartment), almost endless hot water, close proximity to downtown.
The cons: Biggest one is mouse problems, smelling weed in the hallway (it is supposed to be a non smoking building). I really can't think of any other issues. Personally the mouse problem has been so mentally taxing that I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
