As this was our first trip to Alaska, we wanted to take our time and enjoy the views. Our ship docked in Ketchikan around 9:00 AM, and we were among the first to disembark. We had a light breakfast on the ship, but were still very hungry by the time we made it here. There were 3 people waiting for food when we ordered, but there was no line at the counter otherwise. My wife ordered the Wild Alaskan Smoked Salmon crepe (adding avocado), while I chose the Monte Cristo. As the crepes were made to order, it did take a while to get our food. After about 20 minutes, the server called my name. We took our order and sat down in front of the pub next door (they were closed), as there wasn't any seating around. We dove into our food as it was hot and fresh. My Monte Cristo was jam-packed (pun intended) with chopped ham and cheese, but with just enough of the raspberry preserves to enrich the flavor of the other ingredients. My wife's crepe was full of salmon, enrobed by the spinach and avocado. We devoured our food very quickly, our appetites satiated and ready for a long day ahead. Later in the afternoon, we ended up walking by this place. By this time, the line was at least a couple dozen patrons long. I'm glad we came early for these delectable treats!

The texture was a bit underwhelming and didn't have that delicate, crisp edge we look for in a good crepe. And considering it's essentially a to-go crepe spot with no indoor seating, the price feels even harder to justify. For almost $20, we were expecting something more special and memorable. Sadly, this one just didn't hit the mark.

I knew I had to stop once I saw ice cream was involved since you couldn't get it on the princess cruise which is where our group came from. With about 30 min to spare before boarding for takeoff, I dipped in here for a scoop of huckleberry ice cream in a waffle cone. I knew I was in heaven after the first lick, it's smooth and creamy with some firmness and the flavor of huckleberry comes through. That flavor isn't back in D.C. so it was a treat in the AK. This has been a family-owned restaurant for years. Currently, it's owned and run by the next generation (a group of three brothers) in the family. Service was fast and friendly and the food is excellent. My go to over the years has always been the Kitchen Sink - it has everything on it, and is possibly the best combination pizza ever. One random note is that my wife loved the ranch dressing. They make it in house and it's tasty and the perfect consistency. They also serve delicious Filipino food (my parents used to go here all the time), sub sandwiches, appetizers and specials like kimchi fried rice.
