Together they were both around 5 euros which is pretty reasonable. They warmed up the pretzel which was nice. Unfortunately there was nothing special about either things to me that would make me want to go back. They were good, but nothing that stood out to make it exceptional. I've had numerous pain au chocolats and this tasted like the rest. The pretzel was good and soft, which I liked but the cheese was only in the middle and not much on the outside. I've had better tasting pretzels for sure. It was a decent place, but not as hyped up as it was made out to be.

I have fond memories from both: 1) Waking at the crack of dawn to walk through the quiet city-center to this boulangerie for a baguette, fresh out of the rotating brick oven. 2) Staying out until 5am partying at the nearby Café des Anges or Le Living Room, and wandering over for a quick hangover prevention pastry.

After browsing the Christmas markets around the cathedral, we doubled back to sample their wares. At the back of the chocolate shop, there is a winding staircase to the dining room. It's charming and small, and a pastry display case is in the center. We weren't sure of the ordering procedures up here -- one of the staff motioned to me to go over to the pastry case -- I wasn't sure if it was self-serve or not -- but I sat back down and waited. I requested a holiday spice tea -- they said they were out -- and the rest of our party ordered hot chocolate. It was rich and thick and served in mugs (like cacao bean), and although good, some expressed that it wasn't the best they'd had. I was served a rich chocolate pastry and tea. The warm and cozy ambiance is the best part. Purchase chocolates in the shop downstairs before you leave.
