I have had inflammation and hardness in my lower back areas and so I booked an appointment with Tanae. She had a gentle touch and immediately could feel the areas that needed to be tended to. She also could tell I needed to have further treatment in the problematic areas. She was very sweet with a great personality! Parking is very easy during the weekday so that was an added bonus! A great massage engages all the senses, and every detail contributed to the experience--from the inviting room and soft lighting to the soothing scent and music. Her understanding of muscles and how the body responds to pressure was evident throughout. She knew how to release tension and gradually work deeper, always using just the right amount of pressure. Her hands were strong and skilled, so she rarely needed to rely on her elbows. The pace was perfect--unhurried and relaxing. I've had massages where the movements felt rushed or the therapist adjusted the pressure only to drift back to their own preference. Here, the pressure stayed consistently right for me. She also struck the perfect balance with conversation, allowing me to relax quietly and feel comfortable throughout. While her massage itself was already less than stellar, the situation at the end was what really crossed the line. She tipped her masseuse, Nancy, $10 -- which she felt was appropriate based on the service she received. Instead of accepting it, Nancy became visibly upset and began demanding more money, creating a very uncomfortable and unprofessional scene. My family member tried to calmly explain her reasoning, but Nancy continued to insist, and the situation escalated to the point where additional money was given just to diffuse the confrontation. Tipping should always be based on the quality of service and given voluntarily. It should never be demanded or coerced. That kind of behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the business as a whole. I'm sharing this not to attack, but to highlight an experience that needs attention. No customer should feel pressured or uncomfortable when leaving a business.
