About 4 years ago, they also attended a dance class, but I noticed on my recent last visit to watch them, that the dance studios have all been removed, some remodeling done, and the whole facility is now oriented to gymnastics only. Attached are some recent photos of the remodeled sections. I don't really know anything about the administration of their programs, but the daughter is pretty happy about their program, the cost, and the girls' progress and enjoyment. Most sessions are filled months in advance, and there are waitlists for every level as their whole program is very popular. One complaint I have heard though is that when a kiddo gets promoted to the next level, they may still have to wait a few weeks or months to move up as there are no openings at the next level. They have a ton of staffers and if you want to be a junior gymnastics instructor, this place sure seems to draw a lot of them for what that's worth.

5/5 -- Big Blue Swim School Has Been Incredible for Our Family…read more We've had an absolutely outstanding experience at Big Blue Swim School, and we want to give a huge shoutout to the amazing team that made all the difference for our children. Our 2-year-old can sometimes struggle with new instructors, and there was a moment where he didn't want to get in the water at all. Brex, Josh, and Xzenia went above and beyond to turn the entire situation around. Their patience, energy, and compassion completely changed the day -- within minutes, he was not only comfortable but laughing, splashing, and having fun. It was such a heartwarming transformation to watch. We also want to give a special side shoutout to Ross, who consistently goes out of his way to accommodate our scheduling needs. He always helps us find class times and instructors that work best for our family, and that level of thoughtfulness truly means a lot. Big Blue has become such a positive part of our weekly routine thanks to the incredible staff. We're so grateful for everything they do and highly recommend them to any family looking for a caring, encouraging, and professional swim school.

The kids love the lessons (or we would have quit long ago), and I love how easily you can start/stop weekly lessons and pick right up where you left off. I also love that the app shows you exactly what skills they're working on and when they've mastered something. My only complaint is that I wish they made it clearer what age/height requirements there are to move to the next level. Sometimes it can feel like your kid is stagnating, but really they just have to age into the next level. Highly recommend trying it out!

She's been playing tennis for years but can't do tennis camp at our club this summer because they're still closed. She joined a tennis camp at Racquet Club of Lake Bluff but got kicked out after one day. I've known the pro there for years and I reached out to give him a heads' up about my daughter. Anyone who knows her knows how amazing she's doing, how much she tries to please people and act typically. I watched her in her tennis camp the other day and was so proud and impressed with her play and behavior - nonstop tennis for 90 minutes and she completely went with the flow. The pro called me the next day telling me she was no longer welcome at the camp. I called the manager who confirmed that she "talks too much" and needs directions repeated (ex. don't touch the ball now because of Covid, push the balls towards the net, not the fence). He was inconvenienced by her being different and, rather than call me to ask for tips on how to address to chattiness, he kicked her out. The club manager supported this decision. I pulled my son out of the camp there even though he was really enjoying it because I can't support a business that discriminates and that teaches kids that it's ok to be intolerant of people who are different and that there is no room for them in our society..

If you are looking for a place where your child can learn the beautiful sport of rhythmic gymnastics or increase their ability, Vitrychenko Academy is the best place for you! It provides classes for people with varying skill levels and age. The coaches are experienced and nurturing, as they were successful rhythmic gymnasts as well, and know what's best for your child! I recently discovered they have a great match play on Sunday evenings that you can sign up thru USTA. The kids can get USTA points, but it's much more lowkey than your typical USTA matches. My 12 year old has gone twice so far and has really enjoyed it. Jean (who runs the program) matched him perfectly both times and even offers some coaching during the matches. They mentioned it's moving to Saturday mornings for the summer so we'll try to make it a few times and I'd love my daughter to try it as well who is very into USTA tournaments right now. My son is going to try his first USTA tournament in a few weeks and I think will be well prepared for the experience thanks to this program.

Some of the classes are coached at college park and others at Marriott in Lincolnshire. The prices here are a tad higher than at some other northwest suburbs clubs, but this place is well worth the extra buck. The coaches are very very good. Classes are fast paced and very educational. Not only does this place have tennis courts but it also has racquetball, taekwondo, and a fitness club. What a variety! The facility itself is very modern, clean, and has many accommodations. The bathrooms/locker rooms are fanominal. They are always clean, stocked on free tampons, good blow driers, hairspray, free towels, lotions, razors, etc. You want it, they got it. There is even a whirlpool! The upper level is the main floor and it looks over the tennis courts, on both sized of the building. Amazing views! This is what every club needs. People can cheer from above without being on the same level as you, and everyone has a great view of the game. The staff is always very friendly. I give it 4 stars and not 5 because of a few things. The parking lot gets packed and is very hard to get in and out of it. The lighting seems to always make my eyes hurt by the end of my time there... And for some reason I feel like there is something always missing , like a welcoming atmosphere, feel like its missing here.. It feels like you come in play and get out without getting that warm comfort.. Whether you are new to tennis or have been playing for years I suggest you try it out, you are sure to like it!

Its hard to drop him off, I want to get out and participate in the activities.Where to begin...well first off its super well run by a well-trained friendly staff. They help with everything including applying sun screen at beginning of the day. Kids are assigned to a coach with same age kids, and let me tell you these coaches are hand-picked- super nice, love kids and know their sports. You can tell many of them play elite sports themselves. The camp is well programmed with different themes each week- basketball one week, Olympic week the next. Competitive but in good way. Lunch is really good- food kids like to eat like Popeye's chicken, pizza, and Fridays they grill hot dogs and hamburgers for the kids. Pickup and dropoff is fast and easy and location right off the highway- or there is bus pickup from many Northside locations. We moved to Park Ridge but Jack insisted he attend camp regardless (he met his best friend there) so Mom and Dad take turns driving him an hour each way sometimes (so worth it). They have a great photog who sends out super cool videos each week. Field trips to Cubs games and water parks. Its so great we usually sign him up for most of the the summer, and take advantage of the early bird pricing before January 1st each year. We cannot wait for the camp to start this summer, its hard to imagine a summer sports camp as good at this one. Its hard to summarize it all here but if anyone has questions, please call or text me at 773-805-9305 for honest straightforward info.

It's rare to find someone so personally invested in making sure every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated. The camp itself is a dream for any sports-loving kid. Whether your child is trying something new or honing their skills, the coaches and staff create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where confidence and friendships flourish. And for us parents who suffer from a little FOMO during the day--don't worry! The team does an amazing job capturing the magic and posting photos that truly reflect the joy and excitement of camp life. (Okay, maybe we wish there were even more pictures--but that's just because every moment looks so fun!) Hi-Five isn't just a camp--it's a place where kids grow, laugh, and make memories that last. I signed up for Foss with some determination and I'm happy to have graduated and am now able to swim! The teachers were great, personalized instruction for me, and even when there were subs (which was rare) I still learned a tip from every instructor I worked with. I was skeptical that only 30 minutes a week made a difference, but if you go consistently it really does. The water was always warm, and since adult classes are at less busy times there was always a good experience. Also everyone was so friendly and the front desk was great about communication and scheduling. Highly recommend!

However, they are also older now, and we are more consistent in attendance, so those are also factors. Cost wise, it's about the same as Goldfish.
