We are rejoining after taking a break for a few years. Facilities have been upgraded since 4 years ago. That's a plus. Super responsive team. They were very helpful setting up my partner with steps moving forward to get his health in check. Seemed genuinely engaged. A change I did notice is that they now charge you if a guest comes to use the pool. I think that's a poor policy. For $280/mo it would be 3 of my guest passes to bring my kids and then charge me an extra $45 for them to go to the pool with me once? Anyway. Other than that, I am excited to be back. read more

I have been to other lifetime they way they carry there policy is amazing. Other lifetime they want are app open to scan membership or use the wallet. And they are super duper friendly with an amazing smile. Coming here, I had my wallet ready no friendly smile or stating have a great day or great workout. There is a reason why we have lockers, however this facility when going to class these people bring their coats, purse everything with them to a class or to the cardio or weightlifting or recovery area. Glorified LA Fitness. My wife and me joined this Gym as we moved to the suburbs, thinking we might be upgrading our experience from FFC west loop (our previous gym). But it is such a downgrade from FFC. This facility need not just maintenance but a full renovation. Equipments are Old, Facility is not clean, bathrooms are filthy and Pool is not clean. we are paying $279 and i dont even prefer to take a shower here. I have been a member since 2008 and I have been disappointed with lifetime fitness at Old Orchard. Their basic membership is extremely expensive and they have the nerve to raise the membership rate on a regular cadence without making updates to the gym. At any given day, there are water links from the ceiling in the woman's bathroom, broken treadmills, and dirty workout areas. The uncleanliness is concerning. There is always a sauna or indoor leisure pool closure all too frequently. The staff is not attentive to concerns of their members. I would not recommend this gym. I love this place. I recently joined with my 4 year old. He loves it too. The staff is super friendly. I love the kids academy and parents night out. Only been in the indoor pool so far, but we love it. So many great amenities. There are members that are slobs leaving towels in the family locker room, but you'll have that anywhere you go unfortunately. The staff seems to keep up with picking stuff up and cleaning. I've been trying to go 3 times a week, and they make that much easier with their great services. We eat at the café during the week. I'm thinking about getting my hair done here too. Generally I have found that the employees in the evening spent more time flirting and pretending to fold towels then actually clean. I've always cleaned up before I use any equipment updates (I've been doing that prepandemic for years), but I take more time to do it now because I've never seen any staff go through and clean anything. In the late evening hours, all the teens hit the gym to post pics on social media and hang around rather than actually exercise. It'd be nice to have staff there to ask folks to move or exercise and not play around. I was also throughly disgusted with the state of the shower room area, see pics. Being 1 of maybe 4 women on the gym at 10ish-pm; the shower area I know had been like this for a while. Also the stench lingered in my nose for a while. I went to the locker area right when I got there at 9 and noticed the smell, I hadn't gone into the shower area Bc I didn't need to. But over an hour later, when I did go to take a shower, I regretted it because of the state in which it was left. Also mind you right outside the lockers were FOUR employees "folding" towels. On another occasion I overheard two of the front receptionist talk about how annoyed the one was with another employee because she "bring in her own laundry". This was right when they first opened up at 5am; and I did see linens on the countertop, not the regular brown/gray ones used in the spa, like actual printed bedsheets. For the hundreds of dollars we spend for this membership and somehow this gym has been increased to "diamond level".... It doesn't make sense why it's so unclean. read more

Lifetime Old Orchard is fantastic and definitely one of the better gyms in the area! Lifetime has an abundance of weight machines, free weights, and cardio machines to use so there is always something to do. If you go here for yoga avoid Larissa at all costs. She is rude in her tone and talks down to members. She's big on "no tech" and will force you to take off items on your wrists that have no screen... She stands at the door and if you aren't a "regular" it's obvious that you get treated differently. She will also move your spot to accommodate the favorites. I wish I could say this has only happened to me or blame it on the app but it's happened to others as well. Yoga is meant to be inclusive and relaxing while promoting a safe space, she is quite the opposite. I have enjoyed this lifetime but after a few encounters with Larissa I'm strongly considering otherwise. Many friends have had similar experiences with her, it's sad to see that nothing happens even when other class members file complaints every few weeks. She is on a high horse for no reason. I've gone to the Oakbrook, Vernon Hills, and Northbrook gyms and haven't ever had this happen, I love those gyms. I had a bad experience January 5 at 2:30 pm in the cafe. The young man working was very rude and should not be in a customer facing position. He would not speak or even look at customers when ask about status of orders. The female supervisor was not much better either. There seemed to be some internal friction with them. I live in a residential/commercial building in Evanston. Lifetime Fitness is constructing in the building in excess of 4 months now and won't be finished until after the first of the year. Every day there is constant construction noise whereby you cannot have a normal volume conversation. The incessant noise has caused my wife to actually move to stay with her family 90 miles away. Construction, by law, is not supposed to start until after 7AM, yet I have had to call the police to stop them from working at 6AM. Think about it- would you want to live in your home with constant construction noise going on? I have called Lifetime 3 times- they have offered no sympathy nor anything that could remedy the situation. The entire floor and higher floors have been complaining, but no avail. Lifetime fitness provides poor service I was a member for 2 years and they treat their members poorly. After 2 years of a guaranteed rate they started harassing my husband and I that they needed to raise our membership fee because their recruiter gave us the wrong fee. on several occasions they ran out of towels and toilet paper, soap etc in the locker rooms. This is supposed to be a luxury health club but the management does not provide the service of luxury but a 1 star health club. They have become very greedy and do not care to provide good service. Life Time Fitness ignores misconduct by employees, mistreats clients with 20+ years of membership, and makes you work for an apology. After an instructor spoke inappropriately to me in front of a class (during class), it took me nearly 3 months to get the matter resolved. I spoke to Matt Tilburg, the general manager at the Old Orchard location and he feigned shock and said he'd resolve. Then he went MIA for weeks on end. I emailed him to see if I'd get an apology and he ignored me. I climbed up the ladder to the Corporate Office in Chanhassen, MN to no avail. Spoke to Babette McLagan (Senior Manager, Member Relations), and to Nick Taranto (Member Relations Associate) - both were ineffective at getting Matt to return my messages. I finally had to go above them, to Jeff Zwiefel. He got the job done... after almost 3 months, I got an apology from the instructor. (She also told me that she had no idea I was upset - so I guess Matt didn't do a thing he said he would do.) read more

I've been coming to this gym as a guest for a couple of years now. One thing I've always noted is that it's always clean and immaculate. The staff puts in such hard work to maintain a proper appearance for all of its members and it honestly shows. The actual weight lifting portion of this gym is strapped with the most innovative workout equipment I've ever seen. I've never had a bad time coming here and working out with friends here will always spell out a good time. I've been a member for over a month now and I love coming! When I joined, I did the onboarding. At that point, was given good feedback on how to achieve my fitness goals. I was recommended coming at least 3 times a week, but I sometimes come more than that because I actually want to. The dance inspired classes like werq, zumba, barre, and mixxedfit are mostly cardio and so fun. There are strengthening classes like HIIT, barbell strength, pilates and yoga. The list goes on. The ones I just mentioned are included with the membership. There are pay classes, but honestly I tried the GTX and for what it costs I didn't feel it was that great. There were people who have been doing it for a long time and didn't want to be pushed any further, where I was wanting and expected that. Honestly, so much is included, there's no need to pay for extra in my opinion. As far as the facilities go, I think they are very nice. I always see the staff cleaning and putting out clean laundry. I like that they have nice body washes in the showers. There's also lotion and mouth wash available to use. The lockers are easy to use in the women locker room. No padlocks. All you just use is your member card. One thing parents should know is Do not bring your young kids in the womens locker room. There's alot of fully naked people walking around so it's not appropriate. Use the family locker room if you don't want to scar your kids for life. I like that my kids get to have some exercise too while I work out! It's hard enough trying to get to the gym, but if you can bring the kids and they are having fun too it's a win win. Activites include yoga, sports, rock climbing, dance, cheer, even homework help! My kids are getting their swim lessons there and so far they are making progress! For a member it works out to be $17 per lessson so not bad. So far so good! I'm glad I'm finally getting back to taking care of myself. Alreading getting results too. read more
