You can unzip it from the bottom if you want to make it loose around your hips when sitting down. The price was very reasonable, only $35.00. I took it to another place for an estimate before going to Adel's. They didn't even want to do the work and told me that they would need to charge me $60.00. I would highly recommend trying these wonderful, caring people at Adel's. Beautiful workmanship. I would use them again.

My daughter lives in Central Florida, Last November just before Thanksgiving, my girl planned her bridal gown shopping weekend in Central New Jersey, where the wedding would be. I was entrusted to pick the gown up when it came in, and in the meantime, to find a reputable place near me to get alterations done. No pressure, right! On December 10th I contacted three businesses via Yelp. Barbara's response was the most on target; she anticipated my questions, needs for the work, and nervousness to get this right. I took this as an indication of her experience, professionalism, and genuine interest in the work. Boy was I ever right! In that first day we had a back and forth conversation, she got all the pertinent sizing information, and based on that and a photo of my daughter in the dress was able to give me a stunningly reasonable ballpark estimate --and this is important--without having to see them both in person! Based on that initial back and forth, I also sensed that my daughter would be very comfortable with Barbara. The dress came in sometime in late February and I drove up to New Jersey, brought it home to Mechanicsville, and it hung in the guest room until the week before the Bridal Shower in May. My daughter came up from Florida on her way to New Jersey and got to try on her dress and meet Barbara for the first time. The dress came with straps that needed to be placed and sewn in as opposed to merely affixed with the hooks, in addition, the top of the bodice needed adjustment because my daughter was very concerned not to show cleavage, there was the hem, some taking in at the seams, and the bustling of the train. The initial fitting solved some issues, but there were important loose ends, like the veil and blusher which hadn't been ordered, and the "undergarment" that is really kind of important in the grand scheme of things. My daughter hit it off with Barbara, and that was THE best thing. Barbara is flexible, patient, unflappable, and gracious. And gifted. The dress fit so well the Bride had no cause to tug it up, or down, or lift it up to glide down the aisle or into the reception hall, or otherwise "manage" it during the course of the events: it flowed with the day, as if it was a part of the bride. And there were details, the blusher, that was part of my own wedding veil was perfectly added to the Cathedral length bridal veil; the simple bustle that easily lifted the train up off the floor and the pocket square embroidered with a message to the groom in the bride's own handwriting! Perfect.

Asked for extra heavy starch, even specified that I wanted as much starch as they could possibly put on there. I'm told they'll be ready for pick up the next day. It took them three days to starch my jeans and I got them back and they weren't even creased nor could I tell they were even starched.‍ I'm moving back to Wyoming where the dry cleaners starch your jeans to the point where the crease will slice you open and they're stiffer than cardboard. Didn't even have to ask for it they assume that's what you want and do it automatically for you

And after my horrible experience with Hancock Cleaners in Hancock village who wouldn't even take our items, due to a questionable smell in one of them, possibly by a cat, she shockingly and RUDLEY refused us service to the point where it actually felt personal, especially how she just turned around to the next person as if we didn't even exist anymore, and were just left standing there. And so my child (my witness) and I packed up all of our items till I could figure out where else to take them. Puritan Cleaners were the first one suggested to us by a friend who told us how this business is very involved in the community! (Wow-what a major plus!) Puritan Cleaners were not only able to to accept our items without question, but they were able to have them ready by the next day! Our items came out beautifully and that one questionable smell in one of our items was completely gone! So, bummer for the mean lady at Hancock Cleaners for missing out on an opportunity to make a nice profit on the amount of items we needed cleaned, along with gaining a potentially valuable long term customer. I guess a business like Hancock has the right to treat their potential customers any way they want, and even turn them away, (even though I was expressing extra kindness to her, maybe even to a fault, to try and make her feel bad for how enraged I was feeling on the inside-I know I know-sigh, it didn't work anyway). Sadly, it's bad (and very sad) customer service like that that can hit someone so deeply that one might take their anger out on someone else who may not deserve it. My point here is that in regards to Puritan Cleaners is that they were there to turn my "bad" experience around-and pretty much immediately! BONUS note: is that the young folks working there (that we spoke with and who helped us) were SO KIND and VERY helpful and seemed really happy to be of service. I told them my story briefly (without any kind of rant)-and they listened. Blessings to them! I was warned that a new dress would be cheaper, but I didn't want to risk it not arriving in time or the sizing still being not quite right. It was well worth the cost to have the dress fit perfectly. Oksana instantly saw the problems and got to work when I arrived at her shop. It took 45 minutes for her to pin everything in place, and I really appreciated her thoroughness and focus. In the end she had to hem it and take it in significantly at the waist and under the arms, which involved multiple layers of different fabrics, removal and reapplication lace appliques and an attached belt, and reshaping the entire top. She priced out each individual alteration so I knew exactly how much it would cost for each step. The turnaround time was very fast for how much work she had to do and how busy her shop is, and when I came back to try it on it was perfect. I received many compliments and plan on wearing it to future formal events.
