Dream Vegan is an unpretentious fun Vietnamese Vegan place on Restaurant Row on Neue Banhoffstrasse.
That entire district consists of inexpensive restaurants oriented towards a youth market.
(With one or two more upscale places for variety.)
The local competition tends to be burger places, pizza places, and kebap places.
Dream Vegan is first rate vegan food that does not take itself too seriously.
The dishes are given joke titles like Wonton in a Million or Jack and Chill.
Dishes generally represent saucings and you can get various forms of Vietnamese protein to go into the sauce of your preference.
Tofu, Vegan Chicken and Vegan Duck make frequent appearances.
The restaurant has other center of the plate proteins too.
So I am sure the house would be happy to put vegan shrimp, seitan or, if you want to skip the protein, seasonal vegetables, into whatever preparation style strikes your fancy on the menu.
Everything is wonderful.
Will this be the one meal you remember from your trip to Berlin?
Probably not.
Will you be happy you ate here?
Definitely.
Is the food better than the more chi-chi Vietnamese vegan places a few blocks Northwest on Boxhagener Platz?
You betcha.
