However, when I first used Elias in Hampstead, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that excellent laundry services really do exist! My shirts were lovingly cleaned with special attention paid to my collars and cuffs, which often get battered during a long day in the office, but after their first visit to Elias, they all looked as good as new! Remarkably, Elias had managed to remove stains and marks and had persisted for years as 'untreatable' by other services, putting new life back into my clothes. They also added small, unobtrusive barcodes to my shirts so that they could be processed more quickly on return visits, saving me a lot of time when I drop them off. I have now had shirts cleaned and ironed there over 100 times (I have a lot of shirts!) and I can say without hesitation that this is the best cleaning service I have ever experienced anywhere in the world - even compared to those my clothes have had in five-star and six-star hotels. The owner, Roxy, is a star, who clearly cares about her customers and takes her business very seriously; she and her staff are consummate professionals. The service is not cheap (roughly twice as expensive as the American Dry Cleaning Company), but you will not be disappointed if you can afford to spend as much cleaning your designer shirts each year as you did buying them, you'll never use another service.

The shop is tidy, spacious and rarely busy and so getting around and getting to talk to staff is easy enough. Parking is available in Northumberland Avenue around the corner. If you're looking for appliances for your home then Wellingtons should be checked out when you're shopping around.

I'd definitely recommend this place to students needing to furnish a flat, there are some good bargains to be found if you look around and the prices have some room to manoeuvre, especially if you're getting a few bits. They offer delivery on large items through their van drivers, and also do house clearances for people who are getting rid of furniture.

Both shops are well laid out. The clothes are high end prices and a bit too dear for me but the furniture shop is amazing and has so many bargains I can't list them all here but it's easy to pick up a tv for £20, a dishwasher for £50 and a bookcase for under a tenner. The upstairs is not accesible for wheelchair users or anyone who can't climb stairs. The shop can be accessed for the high street or the best bet is to park in Morrisons and walk down the stairs as the car park is behind the shop.
