My wedding venue was ultimately canceled due to poor communication on Tanya's part and her failure to clearly explain basic contractual terms. As a professional planner, she should have guided me through the process with clarity and transparency--but instead, I was left confused and misinformed. What was promised to be a "stress-free" planning experience turned into the opposite--Tanya created more mess and work for me than she solved. She lacked basic organization and attention to detail, especially on the day of the wedding. Rather than focusing on ensuring my day went smoothly, she appeared more interested in networking with my vendors for her future business than in making sure my event was successful. She failed to keep track of our pre-planned schedule, which led to major moments being missed--including my father-daughter dance and bouquet toss. Throughout the night, she seemed more concerned about eating and staying in the air-conditioned venue than checking in with me or my husband or making sure the timeline was on track. From the beginning, Tanya made promises she didn't deliver on. I hired her as a day-of coordinator six months before the wedding. While I only paid for day-of services, she insisted on helping earlier in the process--which I initially appreciated, since this was my first wedding. However, within just two months of giving her contact information to my venue, she had already caused enough frustration with the property manager that I had to step in myself. By that point, the damage was done--he canceled our contract two months before the wedding. Thankfully, I was able to find another venue, but even then, Tanya again managed to upset the new property manager. Multiple vendors and both venue managers told me the same thing: "Your planner is very unprofessional and doesn't understand the basics of wedding planning." Despite their warnings, I held onto hope that she would follow through on the day of. Sadly, she didn't. When it came to execution, there was no flow. As the officiant, she failed to ask the DJ for a microphone (which was readily available), resulting in guests not being able to hear the ceremony. She also forgot to ask guests to stand when I walked down the aisle--something we specifically discussed in advance. A guest had to step in and call it out. Tanya is what I would call a "yes" planner--quick to agree, but slow (or unable) to follow through. I constantly had to remind her of things and even suggest solutions myself. Her behavior lacked professionalism at every turn, and she did not have the knowledge or presence of a competent wedding coordinator. What's more, Tanya was seen vaping in front of my guests--completely unprofessional and inappropriate. When she finally did get on the microphone, instead of sharing important timeline information, she spent her time talking about moving cars--something that could've easily been handled off-mic and by someone else. In the end, my experience with Happy Planning Events was full of broken promises and unnecessary stress. Tanya appeared more focused on building vendor relationships than prioritizing her client's experience or staying within budget. I strongly urge anyone looking for a true professional to look elsewhere. Don't be fooled by the branding--this service has a long way to go before it lives up to the name.

He called it "our wedding" and he meant it. My wife instantly loved him and he took action. You don't know what a planner does until you see it all come together. We've all witnessed planners at weddings, often they are intrusive and a bore, simply unliked. The absolute opposite with Jove, my family and friends loved him and his team so much that I think they are in the family pictures now. Not just the wedding ones, but we've added him to pictures from the 1980's, my high school year book in the 90's, etc. Lol. I can't say how much I appreciate Jove. Jove and his team took care of us & everything. Not only coordinating 3 caterers, a food truck, flowers, transportation, he even made sure we stayed hydrated and fed. As important Jove made sure we didn't pay for services he provided that we didn't need, saving us on the budget. He was honest and fair at every turn. Jove took my very anxious wife, on a very anxious day and immediately put her at ease as promised, he delivered. We couldn't have had the perfect wedding without Jove. We needed to rent and bring in all essentials - forks, knives, glasses, plates, extra furniture, all food, and of course typical items such as flowers, candles etc. Working with Jove made this entire experience a pleasure, we just focused on finding things we liked and he took care of the rest. I don't know what kind of organizational wizardry he was doing behind the scenes, but his management made my wedding week one of the most relaxed and full of joy I can remember. The vendors he helped us find all delivered beyond our expectations and on budget, and he was consistently checking in with them to make sure everything was on track. Jove even coached the inn management through any issues they were dealing with while hosting the big event. As wedding day approached I couldn't believe how relaxed both me and my spouse were, we spent our entire wedding catching up with loved ones and just enjoying the party. I made a few appointments with established wedding planners I had worked with in the past and for good measure, googled and read reviews to make appointments with a few newcomers. After an exhausting day of being interviewed about my wedding and receiving totally extravagant and ridiculous quotes, I met Michelle. Walking into her townhouse/office was so calming and I immediately felt better. She had comfy couches and an array of snacks and drinks out on the table (which seems like a small thing but after meetings with planners who just sat me down at a desk in their office and were on their laptop the whole time, it was nice to feel like someone prepared for me). There was a slideshow of ideas going on the big screen on the wall that had been prepared just for our wedding based on what I told her when we talked on the phone the day before. We chatted for about an hour. She was incredibly friendly and warm and I felt like she would be on top of the details without being pushy. As compared to some other planners who charge a percentage of what you are spending on your wedding AND limit you as to the amount of e-mails etc, you can send them, Michelle was a breath of fresh air. Her package was basically all-inclusive and was a flat rate, not based on how much we were spending. I signed up the next day. During the planning process, Michelle and her team were amazing. Not annoying, not pushy, very laid back and took care of a lot of details behind the scenes without me having to deal with them. I could not have asked for a more fun planning process and I was able to enjoy every minute without being bogged down by details. Michelle screened every vendor and presented us with the top choices in every category that fit into our budget and style. She made all the appointments and dealt with all the contracts and negotiations. She was so good a picking vendors that I booked the first vendor in every category without needing to see more. On the day of our wedding, Michelle was truly a gift. I knew (from talking to people afterwards) that there were things Michelle dealt with and catastrophies she was able to avoid without me knowing anything. I partied, ate, and enjoyed my day without having to deal with ANYTHING. She basically ran the entire day. My fiance and I agree she was worth every penny and so much more. She seemed to be everywhere at once - managing the flow of the day, dealing with guest questions, wrangling vendors and setting up photo shots. One second she's cueing the 2nd course and the next minute she's on the floor buckling someone's shoe before a picture - no joke. The boldly colored garden roses were blossoming and accented with large head flowers--ivory/pink hydrangas, light/dark pink daisies with matching colored camellias. Each table had several beautiful floral arrangements with the fresh cut roses perfectly nestled into square glass vases wrapped in pink tulle. In passing I had mentioned to Yomaris how I loved calla lillies and how they were my wedding bouquet. To my shock at each table was another visual stimulating arrangement with pink and white calla lilies! This distinctive type of attention to detail is mind blowing. The candy bar/pastry display was so pretty no one wanted to touch it! The show stopping display was placed upon white ruched piped tablecloth that had rice krispie treats and strawberries dipped in pink icing drizzled with white chocolate. The gumballs were beautiful-- the color of pearl and pink iridescent artfully showcased in an apothecary jar wrapped in a chandelier necklace and pink tulle. The mini cupcakes were delicious and adorned with white and gold sugar pearls. Each pastry was displayed on gold chivari platters and bling'd out cake display stands of varying sizes and heights. The ombre cake was absolutely mouthwatering and aesthetically appealing! Everyone wanted seconds. I loved the skill it took to make the pink converse sneakers. The champagne colored taffeta backdrop accentuated the gold theme of the pastry/candy bar display. It's obvious that Yomaris and Yosie at Favors and More love their job. They were able to make my dream into a reality. Their skill and passion for party and event planning was exhibited by jaw dropping décor and uncompromising attention to detail.
