Let me start by saying the staff are SO nice. They'll consistently come back to your table and make…read moresure everything is alright. There are booths where you order food to come cooked, and then the hot pot tables where you order the ingredients and cook them yourself. It's very interactive, and they have plenty of meats, vegetables, tofu, dumplings and noodles. You can choose the broth you want at the beginning and they'll bring out the pot. Each pot is split in 2, so you order one regular broth and then a spicy broth. They also have a veggie broth, which I really enjoy. You can grab things from the salad bar, and they have different sauces/oils you can take and add to your soup. You're able to really customize the experience. It's a fun little experiment you get to do with your friends and family. The space itself is busy with customers walking around and staff brining drinks and food, but it's not crazy. We joke that the steam from the soup is a nice facial treatment. Lol. You can end the night with an ice cream cone and lollipop in the waiting room. I've been a few times, and I will say the first time is overwhelming with trying to figure out what to do, but after that you get more confident and interested in curating a soup that's to your taste.

Even though there were plenty of larger tables available, we were told we had to squeeze into a small dirty booth. The pink/red-haired male employee and the girl with glasses who seated us were rude as hell and acted like we were an inconvenience instead of paying customers. Their attitude alone made us decide to leave without ordering. We've enjoyed coming here for a long time, but this experience changed our minds. Management really needs to address the customer service from those two employees before more loyal customers walk out like we did.

Their xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) and Jianbing are amazing. The potstickers and chicken dumplings were also delicious. You can place your order on the tablet and the food comes out pretty quickly! The service is so friendly and they are super helpful if you have questions or need anything extra. We grabbed the pea shoots, the veggie dumplings, the sesame noodles, and the jianbing. The pea shoots are so so so good! Highly recommend as the green vegetable of choice :P The star of the show for me was the jianbing though -- literally crispy, crunchy, hot savory and so umami. Could eat 10 of those without noticing; they're also huge so you can definitely split one. The sesame noodles were tasty but I will say I was sad that there were 0 other vegetarian noodle dishes; kinda wished there was a hot vegetarian noodle option rather than cold sesame noodles which were good but not the best option for an overcast Portland day. I will say the noodle portions were VERY generous. The veggie dumplings were fine, not bad but not good. They were filled well but a tad bland and my friend said she enjoys their meat filled dumplings much much more. All in all, cute spot with a nice variety of options. Street parking in the area isn't too bad but plan accordingly during busier times! Swing by and grab a jianbing, you will absolutely not regret it~

For the quality of meat we ordered, it was a given for the high price. Food was great, I recommend ordering the tomato soup base, that was everyone's favorite and it was super flavorful. Another must order item is the fish ball with roe, super rich in flavors. In term of cleanliness, everything was clean for the most part but my mom did noticed residues on her plates. We had a staff replace it. Staff were very attentive in checking in on us and making sure our water was filled. A+ for customer service, very rare to find attentive staff nowadays. Overall great place to take your whole family out.

Seventeen Hot Pot is one of our go-to spots when we're craving traditional Chongqing-style hot pot…read more The broths here are incredibly flavorful with that signature rich, numbing spice that makes Chongqing hot pot so satisfying. Every soup base we've tried has had great depth, and the quality of the meats really stands out; fresh, well-sliced, and perfect for cooking in the broth. The restaurant itself is spacious and nicely decorated, making it comfortable for both family dinners and group gatherings. Ordering is also very convenient since each table has an iPad, so it's easy to browse options and add items without waiting for staff. A solid and reliable choice if you're looking for authentic, flavorful hot pot in the Bethany area.
