Don't call unless you have or plan to buy top-shelf fixtures.
I only wanted to change the cartridge on our faucet, and I have to say I found the service quite unpleasant.
- The plumber showed up and immediately started complaining that there are no names on the faucet, that "back in the day" there were three makes and would be easy to find a replacement for a cartridge, and now there are too many options, and it's a lot harder. He kept saying that all the products I had installed are cheap and knock-offs - literally just yelling, "cheap! that one too!". Then he took many photos of the faucet - at least 20 - saying he would show "the guys" and ask them if they recognized the brand, and he left. I'm no expert, but how can you fix a fixture based on a photo? that is not very "pro", in my opinion.
- Then he came back half a day later, and he removed the cartridge; why couldn't he have that done in the first place? How can you replace a cartridge without knowing what the cartridge looks like?
- Next, after waiting for 24 hrs with no communication whatsoever, I asked him how it was going, and he replied that he searched "all wholesalers" and couldn't find it. I don't know how many wholesalers there are in Victoria, but going through all of them seems a bit of an exaggeration. He said he has one more store that "deals with knock-off fixtures" and he's going to try that lat.
- again no communication for 24 hrs so I had to text him again, and he said he "got a call" from " Victoria Specialty Hardware" and they couldn't match it - how can you match a cartridge over the phone?
So after 4 days of quite frustrating communication, I got the cartridge back and I was billed with $212. I understand it's normal to pay the service dispatch, but I really don't think the $150 in hourly rate is warranted. I get that it may be difficult to find a cartridge that matches, which is why I called a plumber instead of trying to find it myself - though it was still bought in Victoria initially, not Ghana or Bangladesh, so I still find it hard to believe it's impossible to find one. But for $212 I can go and buy a whole new faucet and install it myself instead of paying for a service that didn't get me anything.
All this message was sent to "Jaeson Navaroli, Owner", in reply to his email requesting an online review. I never got a reply, so obviously communication is not their forte. I am posting this here as a warning for anyone that considers calling them. top-shelf read more
