We were just downgrading to a smaller unit. We sent a complaint to the office almost 2 weeks ago but no one has ever called, texted or emailed us back. Absolutely an unreputable company! I can't believe they have so many good reviews when we definitely received the worst service possible. Update: I don't think it's wise for any business to publicly give an "excuse" why they did something that a customer is unhappy about, and rightfully so. Their plumber was told from the start that our current/previous tankless water heater was working just fine. Why would anyone throw away a unit that's working fine? After speaking with Lucy today, I was also asked to revise my review here if they provide a new service that is satisfactory. In November 2025, a technician attempted to clear a clogged sink drain in our guest bathroom but was unsuccessful, stating nothing more could be done. Her only solution was an expensive main drain descaling/jetting service quote for $1,500 to $1,700+. Six months later, we hired a second plumbing company. They successfully cleared the blockage for just $175 using a standard drain snake--the exact same tool GOAT's technician used unsuccessfully. The costly $1,500+ jetting service recommended by GOAT would have been completely unnecessary. 2. Our total bill came to $533. Because the total was processed on a credit card without an upfront cost breakdown, we assumed the fee was primarily for the drain attempt. When I later checked the itemized receipt, I was shocked to find: * $83 for the unsuccessful attempt to clear the sink drain. * $450 in labor/fees to replace a toilet flush valve for a minor leak--an $18 part at Lowe's. Had we been quoted $450 upfront to replace a flush valve, we would have declined immediately. 3. I emailed the owner directly to detail our experience and give them a chance to address these concerns but received no reply. We take responsibility for not inspecting the emailed receipt right away, but the combination of inaccurate diagnostics, extreme price markups, and lack of customer support means we cannot recommend this company to anyone.

After running cameras through everything, they developed a hybrid solution that involved undermining accessible pipes and replacing with minimal intrusion as well as refurbishing and epoxy coating the remaining small segments of cast iron that would remain. Joe sat down at our dining room table and mapped it all out; showing us video of each problem point as well as what was salvageable & gave us a price. We signed off on it. With much apprehension on our part knowing our home was about to be dissected, Elliot and John arrived to start work. They were prompt, respectful, & empathetic to our dilemna. They were also insistent about putting protective paper down everywhere they worked to protect the flooring. At the end of the day, they swept, vacuumed, and mopped any debris that was remaining. Sent them photos. They assured me they would fix it. It took them almost 2 weeks and 10 phone calls. 7) There's was a fan outside. They used it when filling cement in the hole they dug. Thats fine. Cement was left all over the new fan. 8) With the city program, they were to restore my property of how it was. They removed pavers and just left in a pile. STILL NOT RE-INSTALLED. 9) My home is old and didn't have a clean out. They tell me they need to install one. Great. They tell me, "It will look bad if we put it on the patio. After inspection, we will move it off the patio. Are you okay with that? We take pride in our work." I said "Whatever you think is best. Thanks." Where's is the clean out? In the middle of the patio. They never should have offered to put the clean out else where, if they weren't going to follow through. AND to offer doing something after a city inspection was sketchy. They are 100% not abiding by the city in most likely the majority of jobs performed.
