Just checked in and this place is cool. The building used to be a prison and they kept the theme…read morethroughout (my room keys have a ball and chain lol). But they really succeed in keeping old German charm (ie wooden floors and a 4 poster bed) but mixed with clean modern amenities (ie spotless bathroom). But a couple tips do not get the single room (unless u want a taste of prison life). The single room is tiny and the shower, bed, toilet are all right next to each other lol). Splurge on the suite u will not be dissapointed. Also no elevator.

This boutique hotel is historic and unique. The cell rooms are quite small, but authentic. If you…read moreneed more space, I would recommend reserving one of the four larger "themed" rooms. We had the iron workers' room (we think, we were not able to translate the German) but it may have been the prison room. It was located above the reception area and looked out above the front door. It was spacious, although pretty barren in its amenities (there was a tall storage locker with multiple compartments as well as a table with two chairs, three smaller tables (two with side lamps) and a shelf (for a desk). I guess the sparseness of the room was supposed to be reminiscent of...a prison!! The breakfast spread was excellent and the girls who work the front desk are a hoot, very friendly and they all speak varying degrees of English. Wifi is free, easy to use, and consistent. Know the reception area is closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., so you have to work around that for check in and out. Also, there is "parking" behind the hotel but it's really a small courtyard with no lines so only two cars can fit at any given time--the hotel should really put lines in, they could at least get three cars in there with some structure. Still, you should plan on parking along the street or in the public parking (move your car by 8 a.m.) and even then, you might be parking further away. Also, if you get one of the rooms near the front, it can start to get a bit noisy around 7 a.m. with doors opening and closing, footsteps, and voices. Overall, we would stay here again, very unique, great location, friendly staff, good breakfast spread.

If you are looking for a hotel in the Amberg area, look no further. This is the second time that I…read moream staying at the Allee Park. It is a true 4 star hotel by any standards. This place has it all..friendly and outgoing staff, great luxurious rooms, excellent breakfast, a bar, free wifi and great views of Amberg. This is a bit further drive from Graff (approx 30-45mins), but you are in the heart of a nice town with lots of great restaurant options. The prices are also great....It does not get better than this. My only complaint would be that there is no gym on site, but there is a great walking/running track around Amberg.

They will take and hold a hotel reservation without a credit card. If you're coming from overseas,…read moreuse email and expect a day wait between correspondence. Very easy. The hotel is well located to Amburg, easy walking distance to everything. It's nice looking, the staff is very helpful and accommodating, and the rooms are very nice. I stayed in a category 3 room, and it is what you would expect from a nice single room hotel. Plenty of space and nice amenities. The rates of the hotel are extremely reasonable, and a really nice breakfast is included. Breakfast has cold offerings (sliced meats, fruit, cheese, etc) and hot stuff (eggs and a variety of sausages), coffee, juices, breads, and spreads are also on the menu. It has a parking garage (for a small price per day) and is in easy walking distance to Amburg, with plenty of cafes and restaurants. The rooms were very nice, with heated bathroom floors and the ability to open windows but still have the security of steel shutters. Television had a variety of channels and the internet access is fine. Beds were a little low and soft, but I was able to sleep fine. There's a sauna and hot tub in the basement (which we overlooked until we were checking out). Amburg is a mellow, quieter town. But if I wanted a relaxing escape or was commuting to the US base (30 minute drive), I would certainly consider this hotel as a great option. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
