Sun Dog Yoga Studio - Teacher Training

Sun Dog Yoga Studio

I came to Sun Dog Yoga when I registered for the 6-week Yoga Basics Series. Shari was my teacher…read moreand she was amazing. She was really awesome about keeping a slow pace and giving easy modifications for almost every pose. Each class she added more poses to the Ashtanga flow. The class size was was small and intimate, so Shari was able to give each of us a lot of personalized attention. She also taught us the opening chant. I have since "graduated" from the Yoga Basics course and started taking Ashtanga Foundations classes in the evenings. The Monday night class with Erica was a little crowded (maybe a dozen yogis), so I felt cramped after my intimate experience with the Yoga Basics course. Erica as a teacher was great (I wasn't used to such a fast pace)! She acknowledged that I was new and paid close attention to my poses. The Sunday evening class with Meredith/Cassie was more intimate with 5 yogis (surprisingly, mostly men). We opened the class with the opening chant and there was enough time to work on some hip opening poses towards the end. I left this class feeling high on life. The studio itself is quaint and homey. The area where you leave your shoes can get a bit crowded between classes. The atmosphere is immediately calming with quiet music, incense, candles, water fountains and an altar. There is a second room for meditation and I'm guessing massage. There are two bathrooms as well. Yoga mats and other accessories are available for purchase on site.

This is a rare find because it is a studio offering lots of ashtanga instruction. There are classes for beginners and more experienced students alike but what sets it apart from any other studio in 40 miles radius is Mysore program. This is a class where everybody practices by themselves in a group and the teacher is there to help and offer individual instruction. It is like having a private class. The best class for beginners, and advanced students alike. Everybody moves at their own pace, truly non competitive and very safe environment.

I have been searching for a new…read morefitness center for the past 3 years and have tried our classes of all different kinds at over 15 different fitness studios in Bucks County, and I have FINALLY found my place at Barre3! I joined Barre3 Doylestown as a member at the end of January and have not only found the workout that I needed, but have also unexpectedly found a community. Angie (the owner) has truly put together something special and it has been the one workout that I am truly EXCITED to get to and look forward to every single class. Every single instructor I have had the pleasure of having so far has been fabulous, but I have to give a shout out to Logan in particular as her class was the one that had me sold on joining. Her breath work portion of her classes is somehow everything I need to hear for the day and her workouts are always fun and exciting. If you haven't given Barre3 a try yet, this is your sign!
