Dragon Palace of Grande Cache, AB, was a very good food experience. The food we had - and didn't have - is food you would expect to see and eat in a Chinese restaurant!! The food we tasted was all made in house, which enhances the experience a lot. What we had was the Combo #2 for one person, which included sweet & sour chicken balls, beef and greens (or beef and broccoli), and chicken fried rice. We also took two egg rolls and chicken chow mein. The chicken fried rice and beef and greens were our favourite dishes - the beef and greens dish had a sauce that was absolutely delicious!!! But the other dishes were of course very delicious. The portion of each dish was very generous, which is traditional with many Asian restaurants. There were even leftovers for another meal, which is something that I really enjoy because I don't have to worry about cooking another meal!! Oh yes, we also had a Shirley Temple drink, which was very tasty. Service was welcoming and fast, and the food came in waves, but is ok though, as we can start with dishes as they come. Like in all small towns there's at least one chinese restaurant. They do have buffet but i suggest trying the menu if it's not too busy. Very nice people and the food is quite good. read more

Seriously, your deep fried wontons. WORST EVER. All wrap, no delicious meaty insides. My dog wouldn't even eat them. YOU HAVE BROUGHT SHAME ON YOURSELVES AND YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY. The other food was ok. read more

I don't know if it's because I am originally from Grande Cache,but I have yet to find another Chinese restaurant that makes food as good as this place. The buffet is throughout the week during lunch hour or on Saturday evenings and it is always stocked and hot! Everything that is fried is done just right and never soggy,from the yummy lemon chicken to the spring rolls. The decor is a little wacky,but the food makes up for it. Hot and delicious! read more

I can't say this was the best Chinese food I've ever had, but it was pretty good. We had the Sunday evening buffet. All the food was made as it was eaten, and not left to sit in the warming dishes, so it was nice and fresh, and hot. It was a nice selection of items. A slightly bit more pricey than other places I have been, but overall, it was good. read more

Very pricey compared to what I'm used too on Vancouver Island but it is THE BEST Chinese I've ever had (and I travel A LOT). Whenever I visit, I insist on coming here. And the first hour of being a resident of Grande Cache, I made sure we had this for dinner. It's worth the money every month or so when we do splurge on take-out. Owners are super friendly too and are excellent with my young nieces. Very nice family atmosphere. read more

The first time I ate here it was pretty good! The second time not so much. I ordered a combo and asked if I could substitute chicken fried rice for pork fried rice and they told me no. I asked if they could charge me extra to substitute it and they said no. I was asked how I would like to pay and said debit and they replied with they only accept credit card over the phone or cash. It was extremely frustrating. Their unwillingness to accommodate my simple request which I offered to pay extra for put me off of eating here again. read more
