    Dinner Special Combo $17.50
    Rob F.

Okay, so walked in and it smelled like mothballs (I'm exaggerating because I don't know what mothballs even smell like); But it had an old dingy, old church smell so maybe that's like mothballs?? Super dated decor, empty restaurant, but I'm giving it a go anyways...RISK KAY! The lady that greeted me was fairly nice and was patient as I took a few minutes to decide what I wanted. I landed on the "Special Combo Dinner Plate" Ok, got my food and here goes the true test...summabitch!!! I was hoping for a better result, it's almost flavorless...you know that bland taste when you're sick and everything taste like nothing? Welp, I came, I tried and unfortunately, I'm not a fan. What happened to the days when a little carton of rice was like $4.95, here it's between $11.50-12.50, GAWD!

Cheese Wontons, fresh and with their sweet sauce

Wanted a nice spot to eat for lunch before seeing Burney Falls so we ended up stopping by Dragon Palace. It was sorta busy going on Labor Day weekend, but we were seated promptly by the kind waitress. The shrimp was very plump and fresh, Kung pao chicken had a really nice kick, and the cheese wontons came out piping hot with a nice crunch. Would come back again!! I recommend the shrimp!!

    Mongolian beef lunch special

FOOD - Shrimp in Black Bean Sauce lunch special: shrimp sautéed with green bell peppers and onions. Comes with rice or fried rice, an egg roll, and soup of the day. The shrimp was decent. I liked the taste but my husband thought it was a little salty. 3.5/5 - Mongolian Beef lunch special: beef cooked with bamboo and white and green onions. Comes with rice or fried rice, an egg roll, and soup of the day. This was probably the worst Mongolian beef I've ever had. The meat was tough. The flavor was tangy/sour and it wasn't spicy at all. My husband said it tasted spoiled. 1/5 SERVICE: Friendly. We were the only ones there as we came right as they opened. It took about 20 minutes for us to get our food. Everything was made fresh as it was piping hot! 3.5/5 FINAL THOUGHTS: I don't think I'll be returning. Every one that I came with were no impressed with their food. Mine, thankfully, wasn't bad but it also wasn't great.

The food is good, but the prices are astronomical. As a local we order two entrees and rice and it cost $50. Have not ate there since.

The staff now are typically pleasant, they've got some good items but of course room for improvement.

Restaurant serving Chinese and Thai food [Weaverville CA]…read more The restaurant is located across the street from the Joss House State Historical Park in Weaverville. We decided to have a late lunch here. The hostess/server said that we could sit anywhere. There was actually three different seating areas in which one was reserved for a large group. After browsing through the menu I decided to have the Mongolian Beef combo. It came with fried rice, chow mein, and an egg roll. I didn't like how the beef was cooked... not the same as I've had it elsewhere. It was still good, just not the seared crispy coating on the steak. My meal came with a choice of Hot & Sour soup or Egg Flower. I chose the latter. Hubby had the Pad Se Ew w/ tofu. He liked it a lot. Customer service was great. The interior had some of its original aesthetics like the red brick walls. Outside I noticed a plaque stating that it was a historic building originally the Pacific Brewery, one of four gold rush breweries in Weaverville. The building was built in 1855, it has been used and renovated/converted into different businesses over time and finally remodeled into a restaurant in the early 1970's. wow that's cool! I am disappointed with the establishment for forcing me and my service dog to leave. If there had been someone with an allergy or other issues I would have understood but this was not only against the ADA for the denial but against decency. I hope they do better in the future but I will not be giving a place like this my patronage.

The place is clean and everybody was friendly. The food is on a cafeteria type line, you just pick out what you want, and then they serve it to you and you take it to your table. I can't speak to the main dishes, themselves, as I just came in for a Boba tea. I did see that they also had wontons on the line, so I also did an order of wontons as a snack. The wontons were wonderfully crispy, and not greasy at all, and they were very generous with the portion. I liked the sweet-and-sour sauce, it was sweet and just a little bit tangy. I had the Matcha milk tea, it was creamy and had a wonderful flavor. It's hard to describe the flavor of Matcha, but I do like it. It was a bit sweet, and just a bit savory. They asked me if I wanted the Boba pearls, which I did because I like them a lot, and they were very generous with them. A milk tea and an order of wontons was only nine bucks. Extremely reasonable. Thank you for a nice stop.
