The meals were meant to be delivered on December 23 and 25 at the cost of $116.39 (including HST). The delivery time for the meals said between 2PM-6PM but I received my first delivery after 7:30PM. Maybe because I ordered the food during a busy time, I received mostly watered down and tasteless dishes with barely any flavour of food from Kerala. The Nadan Chicken Curry was badly cooked with hard, burnt pieces of chicken. The only palatable items in this delivery were the White Chickpeas, the limited amount of Semiya Payasam (sweet dish), Upma, and Rice. Due to the high volume of orders, the second delivery was delayed by a day and arrived on December 26. At least the food arrived on time (somewhere between 2:30PM and 3PM). This was another disappointing mess of food. The Fried (bone in) Chicken smelled stale and was burnt too, and the Rice was spoilt. The Jeera Raita and Veg Kurma were watered down, and the Pavakka Theeyal (bitter gourd) was tasteless. On the plus side, the Cabbage Thoran was nice and crunchy, and the Egg Noodles tasted as good as any that are sold in Indian street eateries. I give them points for delivering the food (in decent containers) at no extra cost. Having grown up eating meals with family friends from Kerala, I have to say that this food was below standard. I usually order pizza or from Just-Eat and decided to try something new. Last night I put in an order for pad thai, thai eggplant, brown rice and a couple of hot sauces at 4:30 pm on Real-Eat. I specified no eggs on the pad thai. It gets to 6:30 pm and still no delivery and since the restaurant I ordered from doesn't have a number anywhere I called Real-Eat. I told him I ordered from their website 2 hours ago what's going on. He said the restaurant had my order for pick up despite me not selecting a pick up and said it would be changed to delivery. I asked how long will it be since I've been waiting for 2 hours for a meal already, he said he would talk to them and call me back. It gets to 7:30 pm and I realize this guy isn't calling me back, I call back, it goes to voicemail I leave 3 messages and keep calling back hoping someone will pick up. I felt like I was being ignored as I called Real-Eat over and over. Then I called Just-Eat because I see the restaurant is under their listings, the restaurant is called Asian Chef Cuisine and they have no number anywhere in sight. Just-Eat gave me their number I called the number and it was a voice message service that was not enabled. At this point it's 7:50 pm I'm on the phone to my bank to cancel the transaction and when the agent puts me on hold I hear a knock at the door. I answer it, its a delivery man from the restaurant. There was no embarrassment or apology for how long they inconvenienced me from the delivery man. I told him how unacceptable it is to have someone wait for a meal for 3 hours and 20 mins and just bad service. The food: The pad thai was bland and eggy, eggs was the biggest taste and I specifically said no eggs. The thai eggplant was the blandest thai eggplant I've ever had, it tasted mostly of oil and nothing. If the food had been good then at the bare minimum the food would be good and it wouldn't be bad service, disrespect and awful food on top of that. Never order from Real-Eat! they will waste your time in such a cold and disrespectful way and won't even be sorry or embarrassed about it.

It's one of the very few butchers in Toronto which sells fresh, not previously frozen goat. Lots of variety and good prices. The fish counter too is spotless and they have regular specials. Gleaming beautiful FRESH fish and no "fishy" smell. Chinese New Year and Têt decorations abounded including festive, happy music. Tons of sweets from Vietnam (exactly the same as I saw when I visited Vietnam), cookies, savoury snacks - DROOL. This store has items from Japan, Korea, PRC, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia. The produce counter is impressive. They have everything here including red Vietnamese dragon fruit for a reasonable price. "Furry" squash, fresh aloe, lotus root ... all those delectable Asian delights. Love this store. Always busy.
