The waitress was very friendly, attentive. The food was OUTSTANDING! Better than I remember! I had Chicken Almond Ding. Others in our party, loved what they ordered. We all had egg drop soup and added egg rolls (which are huge and a meal in itself)! We all got take home boxes to enjoy another day. Prices are super reasonable and the restaurant is very quiet. It's great for a small group that wants to hear the conversation. I highly recommend Golden Buddha, Dine in or Take Out!

It was a typical Chinese buffet, but they had frog legs and crawdads, and a few other off Chinese types of fare. They even had sushi, which absolutely wasn't the best, but it did the trick. After my second plate of food, I noticed they had a Mongolian barbecue! I was SO bummed that I didn't see it right when I walked in, because I would have started with that! I didn't take any pictures of my food, but it was all pretty good. I tried probably 70% of what they were offering. Our server and what Im assuming, owners or family thereof, were sort of different, maybe just busy and in a rush, but didn't seem the most cheery, but then again it's also probably a culture thing. Our server did check on us often though. The guy and woman at the counter where you pay were pretty stern and lacking of personality. Typical Chinese decorum, but they also have handwritten notes on the doors and the counters which was kind of weird. Despite how busy it was, it was still easy to talk and understand, I wasn't overly loud. Solid 4 stars. My mom lives up the road, sonthe next time I'm in town, we'll probably hit this place again! We came into town to visit family on our way from San Diego to Virginia and I was so happy to discover Allen had reopened the restaurant and was once again serving up his super fresh and delicious Chinese food. I had the seafood delight, my sister had the General Tso, and my niece had Fried Rice. EVERYTHING was very tasty. We opted for carry-out, and the packages came out super hot, so the short trip to our hotel lobby did not affect the temp. We chose to use the dinning area in the hotel to have the feast! My sister's egg roll was so crunchy, I thought she bit into the fortune cookie! Excellent texture!! Her Tso was tasty and served fried like she likes. My niece says she "always orders fried rice" and this quart was "the bomb." As for my Seafood Delight, each mouthful was filled with loads of tastiness. Shrimp, crab, veggies and more! I requested just a little spice, and that's what I got!! I felt like this place "gets me." The service ... attentive and kind!! I traveled from a suburb of Detroit, MI, to visit Shipshewana, and the surrounding cities. We lodged at the Hampton Inn, Middlebury. The Bamboo Garden Chinese establishment is a short distance away. Our pupper's groomer is in this plaza complex and so we recently took notice and are so glad we did! On our first visit I didn't think to get pictures but it was a fun visit with a great introduction to the amazingly unique foods they offer at Z&W! This restaurant offers many of the what they call "old fashioned meals" on their menu - orange chicken, sesame chicken, sweet and sour, etc... but they also offer an "Authentic Sichuan menu"! During the first visit we had no idea what to get so we asked our waiter for suggestions and guidance! We wanted to try something off of the authentic menu but had no idea what to choose! He was terrific in helping us understand what was popular and what things we might like! There is also a book on each table with pictures of the each of the menu items! AMAZING IDEA!!! We ended up ordering the Dry Chili Beef and the Kingpao Sichuan chicken. Both were delicious but VERY spicy! For me personally, next time I go with a spicy dish (it was indicated as spicy on the menu, the waiter did explain) I need to ask them to tone down the spice level for my palate! Each of the authentic menu items comes with white rice, fried rice is available for an additional cost. These items do not include a side. The star of the visit was the appetizer of crab meat rangoons! WHOA!!! They are huge and fresh and SO stinking tasty! Ours came out so hot that the fresh, crispy shell burned my lip a little bit - but in a good way! I can't remember the last time I had Chinese food that was SO fresh!! Definitely consider ordering the rangoons!! Our second visit we decided to try the old fashioned menu - we ordered the orange chicken and the General Tao's chicken. These dishes come with rice AND a side! If you choose rangoons for the side you get TWO!!! Totally my choice as I already knew from my first visit that they were next level!! My husband ordered the egg roll which was actually crazy delicious!! It's a difficult decision! You can also choose soup in place of either of those options! We added a side of hot and sour soup to share which tasted very authentic and delicious! This spot is so cute and the staff is SO very friendly with warm, welcoming service! This is definitely a great place to grab lunch or dinner and we can't wait to get back to try out more of their highly delectable menu items!
