We took a group of 13 here without a reservation and got seated immediately. The staff was quick to come fill our water , offer us drinks and send us on to the buffet. The tables were full of dish options and most were still steaming they were so fresh (at 5:30 on a Friday, before a hockey game) and the dishes were being refilled very regularly. I personally loved the ceiling mural that was light by the ceiling lights. The rest of the restaurant was very plain but well designed to keep noise levels to a minimum. A reasonable price for a buffet dinner on top of it all. read more

Your food made me phantom pregnant, my stomach hurts. Do not eat here or else you'll get bad tummy ache

One of the better buffets I've been to in Alberta. Food was good & hot Lots to choose from Deserts were the best lol. Kinda similar to the mandarin Staff is very quick to clean the plates up Good prices for drinks. Overall not too bad for a lunch buffet Would go again for sure. read more

Awful food.. Very little selection for the price. Poor California rolls tasted a few days old. Will never go back read more

Wow...I am truthfully surprised that this hasn't been "yelped" before. Rob & I have been here with family a handful of times and it's always been pretty busy! This location offers great parking and there is always a huge variety of food when you get inside. There never seems to be a shortage of tables so there's no wait time to get in (granted, we've only ever been there during the day. It likely picks up at night). If you'd like to know more about the menu, pricing and reservations, the website may be of interest to you http://www.dragoncitycafe.ca/en/home.html I just enjoy it here and wanted others to know about it too ^_^ (you're welcome) read more

In town visiting my parents and decided to buy Chinese food. Ordered from here and won't ever again. The rice was dry & believe it or not BURNT. Never have I had burnt rice. The pork was like deep fried pork fat, there was little to no meat on the ribs at all. The rest was ok but not enough to ever order from them again. read more

Went for lunch with my boyfriend, was seated immediately and our server took our drink order, we got up to grab our food and i mostly had Chinese food. Only to finally taste the food and was VERY disappointed with what i put into my mouth. The beans were over cooked and lacked any flavor, the rice wasn't seasoned at all it seemed, my sweet and sour pork was alright but nothing to boast about. At this point I wanted something to wash the taste out of my mouth, and we hadn't received our drinks yet. Apparently our server had just left and didn't put our drink orders in, so i guess i can't fault her for that. My boyfriend had mostly american food and was kind of pleased which was disheartening for a Chinese buffet. I don't think i will be returning. One good thing was the place was very clean. But thats not enough to save it read more

Food wasn't to bad ..... till after I got home, they must use a lot of MSG as I certainly got indigestion from it. I ate pretty much only the Chinese food from the buffet read more

If I was only rating the food I'd rate it 3 stars, however I threw in an extra one because the staff is so kind and welcoming. I did not enjoy the boba as it was made with a powdered flavoring instead of actual fruit, and I just all around am not a big fan of the lychee as the bubble, I'm more of a tapioca person. The food was alright, definetly not the worst, but not incredible. I would go if you wanted a buffet as I do think its the best Chinese buffet in red deer. read more

Buffet food is good selection , place looks clean and good selection , beer comes in a very frosty mug ! For the items I had at lunch it was very good . read more

Good value for an all you can eat buffet Kitchen kept food table bins full. Food selection included North American fare such as cooked vegetables, Roast beef and chicken Asian food selection included BBQ ribs, spring rolls several noodle dishes and meat/vegetable combinations Steam table had interesting options. Larger selection of steamed options than other buffets I've visited Salad selection was lacking. No peel and eat shrimp. Only one sushi roll option Dessert choices included pies, tarts, puddings and ice cream Wait staff friendly and cleared tables quickly This is my second visit in 1 year. It's been consistent in food quality read more

One of the better Chinese restraunts in Red Deer but only if you order it in. I found the buffet was was a pig slop with waitress that seemed abused by years of un-tipping patrons. They just gestured at a table and asked is water all you want is a sneer tone, before even having a chance to take my jacket off and seat myself. Food is "not bad" read more

Horrible food! My daughter and I walked out after literally a few bites, and after talking to the waitress. Spring rolls had a horrible funny taste, meat tasted terribly old. And there was a thick film layer on all the soups. Was scared of getting sick for sure! read more

This place is truly one of the best buffet restaurant in North America with bunch of variety of food selections. Foods are mostly North American style Chinese food, breakfast, Salad bar, desert, Dimsum, some bit turkey and beef at night. We always go there and eat a few plates with all different kind of dish plus deserts. Food are always fully prepared and even it's gone, it will be ready within minutes. The place is very clean and huge parking lot. Service is quick but as it's buffet that doesn't matter really. I am always looking for a better buffet place but haven't found anything like here. We used to go there like every month but now I miss this place so much. By the way this place is that that expensive. I don't know why it says $$$ but it should be probably $$ as it costs like $15 per person. read more

This is one of the worst Chinese restaurants we've ever been to. The place is dirty and the food was horrible. It had been in the buffet trays for far too long. We paid almost $40 and didn't/couldn't eat the food on our plates. Yuck!! read more

Mostly very good but can also be a hit and miss with both service and food. Food is never bad but sometimes is more mediocre than good. Very good selection, though. read more

I've been here many times and the food is always outstanding. Over the years, they've worked on making your eating and family experience an enjoyable one. Everyone is very happy to see you, and the food is fresh and hot!! They specialize in Asian cuisine and it really shows as the dishes are very flavorful and abundant! Also, they offer hot pot, which is also very good!! We live in Edmonton now, but we enjoy stopping for a bite when we're in Red Deer. Yummy! read more

Went for my birthday for the buffet and was seated right away. Waitress was friendly, place was clean and atmosphere was good. The buffet had lots to choose from (more than other in the area) and was hot and very flavorful. We didn't have to sit with dirty plates on the table in order to enjoy the next round either. Will definitely be my go-to for Chinese buffets in Red Deer. read more

Ordered take-out at 8pm on a Wednesday night. It was ready for pick up in 15 min and was nice and hot when we served it at home. Loved everything we ordered including the rice noodle recommend. Very tasty and each dish had it's own distinctive flavor. Sometimes Chinese food all tastes the same no matter what you order, but not from this restaurant. We have finally found our favorite Chinese food place in Red Deer:) read more

We have been here quite a bit and the food is always good and they have a great selection of both western and Asian cuisine. They are very reasonably priced at just under $15.00 a plate. We have always had good service and we will definately be coming back! read more

Really disappointed in Saturday's service. 8 of us arrived between 7:30-8:00 and we were not even offered a beverage besides water. 4 of the 8 had never been here before and were really disappointed as the other 4 of us quite enjoyed. Food quality seems to be down the past few times we've been. Disappointed in the way we were treated. No dirty plates were removed, no beverages offered and felt like we were in the way when we stayed until 9:30 p.m. The bill was never brought to the table. I went to pay, was told to go to the bar area to pay. Cashier proceeded to take funds from 4 other people that came after me but had to wait. That was never explained why at all. I was never given a bill in fact, just told my total, which was $120 something. Very disappointed. read more
