The staff was quick and friendly and their lunch buffet does have a nice variety. It had 2 meat options, 5 vegetarian options, appetizers, 3 desserts and salads. Note that the spice profile of the buffet has been lowered to fit central Alberta tastebuds. I'm sure if you order off menu they would be able to adjust the level to your taste. Tandoor 'n' Flame is just a block away from my work, so this is an occasional treat for me at lunch. This restaurant has lots of space for lunch meetings and I've never had to wait for a spot to sit. The buffet, while a bit pricey for lunch if you're not planning on over-eating, is delicious, and always has lots of great options. As someone who has eaten plenty of homemade Indian food, this stuff is always fantastic, fresh, and authentic. I'l wholeheartedly recommend the butter chicken and naan bread here - I usually end up taking extra helpings of each, and the only regret I have is that I feel sleepy once I get back to my desk at work. There is also a punch-card program here as well, where if you buy 9, you'll get your 10th buffet free, which, while isn't a great deal, encourages you to drop in at least every once in a while. read more

Not a lot of Indian restaurant in Red Deer, this is ok if you're craving Indian food. We ordered Samosa and it still was frozen inside... Hated it. The servings are small. One of the better places to eat in Red Deer and as a fan of Indian cuisine I was not disappointed one bit. The food was carefully and obviously lovingly prepared as the presentation was very nice and the taste was off the charts with fresh, aromatic notes that sets it apart from the rest. Management seems very serious about customer care and service. We have been there for dinner twice and both times the service was friendly and attentive. The food may take some time to come out, but that's because it is being freshly made to order and that is important to us. Our party shared various dishes served a la carte. Lamb Tikka, Chicken Coconut Curry & Tandoori Mixed Grill are what I recommend with saffron rice, coconut naan bread, and roti. Wash it down with a Kingfisher beer and ahhhh....You're set! read more

I must say it was GREAT because I wouldn't know what to order off a menu, this gave me a great opportunity to try everything that was on the buffet. I've had two experiences with Tandoor 'n' Flame in the past week or so, buffet and takeout. One unacceptable, the other pretty good. The buffet food had appropriate sized selection, and the tamarind chutney was some of the best tamarind chutney I've eaten. However, where Tandoor 'n' Flame loses its stars is that the hot food at the buffet was just slightly above room temperature. Yuck- I'm not interested in food poisoning. I asked for fresh naan, thinking it would be better than the naan sitting out, and it still wasn't good. It was kinda crispy and not fluffy at all. Much closer to roti than naan. However, a friend encouraged me to give it a second try for take out. I ordered the paneer butter masala, and I must admit, it was darn tasty. Plenty of paneer goodness. Once I added in the rice and naan, it was rather pricey. However, it was enough food for two good sized meals and a snack, so it ended up being a good value. I also had a chocolate barfi which was good. It's not always easy to find a place serving Indian sweets. read more

My wife and I have been ordering from Tandoor 'n' Flame for years and have always enjoyed the food there both in house and take out. However, the last time we ordered to go, we noticed that the portions had shrunk considerably but that didn't reflect in their pricing. The authentic quality of taste was also not the same as before. One example being the shrimp in the Biryanni were much smaller and somewhat dried out. The coconut naan was also burnt. The management apparently has changed and we wonder if that is to contribute to the less than pleasant meal. We will definitely be looking for another dining experience for Indian cuisine. read more

I've ordered from here so many times! Delicious Indian food but it's really greasy. Ive been to many Indian restaurants where the food was amazing but much healthier. Although the service is really lacking, the lunch buffet is a good deal ($11 all you can eat) and the chef will come out and show which dishes are vegan (if you explain what vegan means) which is nice. They have roti you can order off the menu instead of naan too! read more

I've had Indian food across Canada and this place is by far one of the worst places I've ever had. It's like you went to a good Indian restaurant and watered down all the food. The butter chicken had the same consistency as water. So save your money go elsewhere read more
