Consistently awesome, I have been able to stretch the lives of my cars cost effectively due to their support.

Came for some A/C work as they have the professional equipment to extract and fill refrigerant. My fans and compressor seemed to be working fine so there must have been a tiny leak and over the years the refrigerant got out and the system stopped cooling. FYI, never try to top-up A/C with those cheap cans of R12 you find in Canadian Tire unless you already have pure R12 in your system! You will regret it and if you contaminate your A/C system, even mechanics will refuse to service you as they will not extract contaminated R-134a (hazardous waste). Just save yourself the headache and go to a professional for A/C work but do your homework! I asked to get a simple recharge and injection of dye so if it leaked again, the leak can be found and patched next time. They evacuated everything, removing any moisture as well (due to vacuum) and added fresh refrigerant (my A/C does not smell as damp when switching now too). Overall great service and reasonable prices with knowledgeable and friendly staff, saw them helping other satisfied customers as well. Will recommend. read more

Have been going to them for years now, not so much now since I've gotten my new car. Found out over time that a few of my good friends go there as well. Each visit, they explained issues well, don't waste their time as they are busy busy. The time you take to argue or barter or whatever, is the time they could have taken to explain mechanics. A no bull**** garage. Amazing! Friendly staff, even the mechanics.. Do what you tell them. That's it. In. Out. Done. Fair prices as well. It's a small, dirty,messy garage. Exactly what I like to see. Dragon Auto is always our first call when something's wrong with our car. They get us in immediately, fix the issue quickly, and their prices can't be beat. Our car is older and we don't want to spend huge amounts of money on it - they always have crafty ideas about how to keep the costs low while still getting the issue dealt with. These guys (and gals) are great. Took my car there for a new clutch after reading a previous review here. They went out of their way to keep the repair as cheap as possible, and fixed a suspension problem I thought I had for basically free. I have no previous connection with this business but I'll sure use them again. They're in a cramped spot on Gladstone just west of Preston, but that's a pretty good location really, easy to get to by transit or cab. read more

I was changing transmission oil a screw snapped and there was leak and I took it to Dragon Auto on Gladstone to fix it. When I drove it there it started fine, parked fine, no Check engine light on, made sure there was enough transmission fluid to get to the garage. Left it at the garage 6 hours they said to pick it up. When I went to start it up it wouldn't start I had to put it in neutral. The owner said to drive it around a bit to let the fluid and stuff read. Now there's a check engine light and the car won't start right. A poor garage don't go. I drove back the owner said it was my fault because I tried to change the transmission oil. They blamed me even though it ran fine when I brought it in. read more

A few days ago I lost a fight with the "Pot Hole Monster" I "ran into". My front passenger side suspension (I believed) was making the awful metal clunking sound as I rode over even mild seams or bumps on the road. My beloved car is (or might soon be "was") a 1996 Toyota Tercel. I've had it for more than 10 years, and this might have been it, as the damage may well have proved to be too much to be worth fixing. Frankly I was really down about it. On top of that my garage I've relied on since the 1990's, was no longer in business ! "JUST PERFECT !!" Being on a small disability pension, I was worried about finding a new garage I could trust to "show me" what was wrong, and the best, most cost effective way to fix it. I read the garages listed here, and partly because Dragon was close,(with my suspension damaged, or who knew what, I didn't want to be driving very far), partly because I just got a "good feeling" to give them a shot, as I like "Little dirty garages", as clean garages cost a lot to look that way, and for what ? Isn't working on cars a grimy business ? So i went, and they saw me very quickly. In less than 10 minutes "Eddy" had the wheel off and showed me what I hoped I wouldn't see, the big coil spring outside the shock had actually snapped right apart ! Eddy said, look, the best thing to do is to replace the whole assembly ( "Oh God No " I thought !! So long car !), but he said he'd get a "used assembly", with the shock, the mounts, everything, (OK I thought..."HERE IT COMES !!), he said "Let's see, with the assembly, and installation, it's going to cost you...(OH !! NO !!! This is going to hurt !) $145.00 plus tax ." "What ?" "Really?" I said, partly in shock, partly in gratitude ! I was going to be able to keep my car, for a price far below most anybody would have imagined ! He did a great job, and he did it for the price he said he'd do it for, after showing me what was wrong, and why he wanted to repair it the way he suggested ! What more could you want than that ?? As far as I am concerned, there is no better service than this. "So long old garage! I'll miss you ! ", (Meet the new boss ! Same as the old BOSS !! ) And now " Hello ! Enter the " DRAGON ! " Too bad for the guy with his turbo charger complaint, or what ever it was. I don't mean to be rude, but to me, a quick look at Dragon, to me says this is not the kind of garage for "Expensive Boy Toy Beamers & Ferraris"(my opinion, OK?) I think that this is the "Old School" kind of "down & dirty" honest, hard working garage to get those repairs for those cars that need "experience and integrity". Where taking the time to actually talk to the customer to avoid misunderstandings, so they do the work that "YOU" authorized, for "The price that you agreed to !" Yes... "OLD SCHOOL !! They are knowledgeable and reasonably priced. They won't do anything unnecessary and overcharge you. They were able to fix a problem in my car that another garage couldn't detect. But... when I picked up my car the following day it was 77 more kilometers on the odometer and 10L less of gas. So I have a mixed impression about this place. read more

*** Only a fool and a fake would try to discredit this review. The whole point of the story is, if you missed it, is IF you are NOT equipped and knowledgeable enough to take the job don't pretend and take the job and charge people for shiety work... Get it? Seems pretty reasonable to me unless you own a shady ass shop... Geoff sounds like a paid advertisement for Dragon breaks your Auto LOL... Now on with the update below.... So after getting my car back with a bad turbo which I specifically asked them to check first to make sure it was good (it's not hard to check a turbo for shaft play, seriously) and them installing a cracked exhaust manifold, I ended up buying a brand new turbo and exhaust manifold and got mazda to install it. So long story short I ended up spending an extra $3000 at mazda + the $4600 at Dragon. Car still burns oil like I fucking warned dragon about after a new turbo. I thought it would hopefully last me 1-2 years before I would sell it so every week I would check the oil level and made sure to top off the oil if it was low. The car had pretty much been babied and driven like a 90 year old man because I was scared the engine pop again. Well surprise surprise mother fuckers. March 3rd, about 6 months later, I went to pick up my wife in the evening at H&R block on carling ave. I stopped at a red light, it turned green and I drove the car out of first gear and @#$@$@#$C#R car die and oil spilled everywhere. I was pissed because I knew Dragon auto had fucked me over so i decided well lets see if these guys will redeem themselves some how and see if these fuckers would help me out so I can come back and update this post and tell everyone I was wrong. But surprise surprise NOPE. these guys had too much pride. They didn't want to admit their work, or LACK of QUALITY work I should say, on the car. Mechanic started giving me attitude because of my review. if it quacks like a duck buddy...... Mechanic tried to tell me not only was the turbo bad, which they installed without checking (real smart), but that it was the main reason for the oil burning issue. Well ok point proven wrong, that could have been one cause, but since I bought a new turbo and got MAZDA to do the install and it was still burning oil after... So yeah... ok... time to move on and maybe he should make something else up before blaming the engine is faulty. Maybe buddy should say my car has a bunch of stickers on the windshield. They tried to blame pretty everything that went wrong with the car due to the car being "modified". So my car has a Short Ram Intake (maybe adds 10hp to the car if i am lucky) and thats it. Originally the car had a tune but after the first engine I sold the tuner and return the car to stock. So There goes more of their baboonish theories. I had a Cobb sticker in my interior dash and the fat mechanic kept on pointing to the sticker like Cobb only sold performance engine parts. The sticker came from a friggin Cobb shift knob I put in the car jackass... You sir are a friggin clown and I cry for all responsible mechanics out there. If you don't believe my story and how unprofessional these guys are... My car has an in car dash cam. When they were "testing" my car, or pretty much whenever they turned the key to the ON position (it was recording visual + sound), i have all their antics and dumbfoundery on video. They can try to say they tried to help me all they want but in the end they, they all know they fucked me more than help. When you replace an Engine that has a turbo you don't fucking slap on the old turbo without checking it first or face doing more work pulling it out (which they obviously knew and didn't want to spend any more time on when they found out it was bad). I was already paying a decent amount to get the car repaired, them buying a 200-300 dollar used turbo or even new one for $1000 and charging me on top of the cost is not going to break my bank. Them installing a cracked exhaust header, well thats just stupid and all this goes to show how great their "testing" and quality assurance is, Zero to None. I definitely have car dash video of how great their "testing" is... "Welcome to ChinnnnnnaTOWN..." screams the "testers" and lots of "hookers and hoes" talk... At one point I can hear the two clown shows discuss about how much "this guy wants to spend on fixing his car" in one of the in dash car cam video... Well dumbass, You charged me $4600 to replace the engine... Don't you think I have the cash so you maybe don't put in a bad turbo or crack exhaust manifold in my car and bumping up the cost a little more? Geezus how stupid can they be. I talked to another auto shop regarding used motors. They told me when I first started complaining about excessive oil burn they SHOULD have started a warranty process instead of blaming everything else... Useless people here. Stay the hell away from this place unless you drive a junker. read more

Friendly honest staff. I took my car to check battery. The service guy noticed my connectors are loose. I bought a new tight connector and the mechanic suggests that I run the car for awhile then see what happens. I later found out from a friend that it was my alternator that was dying. But Dragon Auto Services was nice enough to charge me only for the connectors. read more
