Shows pride for the globe by growing Idaho's native plants! It's more work to be a good steward of the land. It is worth the extra effort.

For allllll the years I've been in Boise...I had never gone to this nursery…read more Way before I was even into any kind of gardening, I had always wanted to go to this place when it was actually on the north end...but never made it there. Sadly, there are ugly a$$ townhomes now where this nursery used to be on Hill Rd. Baffling to me that they'd tear down a wonderful place just to put up something so ugly. But whatever, right? It's happening everywhere around Boise. Ok! Enough of that! Last year, I planted 8 rose bushes and 8 delphiniums. Thankfully all my roses are still alive, but only 5 of my delphiniums came back. I also planted clematis. Lemme say. I did not get them here hahaha! I just realized last year....hey! Am I actually *good* at this gardening thing? And for someone who absolutely LOATHES summer! It was nice to finally find something that's as enjoyable as keeping amazing plants alive. I added 2 more rose bushes this year. Total of 10 now. It's very exciting for me. Again, did not buy at north end nursery, but I'm getting to my point lol. After all these years and now visiting any and all nurseries I can...I finally went into North End the other day and HOLY SH*T! What an amazing place! I mean, it has like a little store that is separate from gardening, but what they sell looks like it was all garden related...if that makes sense. There's a coffee shop inside the store! I hate coffee, but haha, seriously, what a brilliant idea! This store feels like a homey home. AND the BEST part...their best employees they have...DOGS!!! The dogs walking around and greeting people absolutely sold me 100% on this place! One rolled over for me to give her belly rubs at the same time a little cream colored one gave me tons of kisses on my nose! Seriously, how can anyone NOT like this place? Even if you're not a dog person, you have to admit...having like 4 dogs walking around as the greeters....even more brilliant than the coffee shop and honestly, just a beautiful thing to have as part of your business. I absolutely LOVE dogs and seeing them there and how sweet they are..made my day. The nursery is out back and the layout is fantastic and so homey. This really is a special place. Madeline's on Hill Rd has always been a favorite of mine (ya know, now that I actually love having a garden) but definitely added North End to my favorite places. Madeline's also has a very sweet doggie there who greets everyone. So yeah, if there is a dog or dogs...honestly, that's an immediate 5 stars for me haha. North End you'd expect to be super expensive. It's organic. Organic anything is way overpriced imo. The prices here there are very comparable to Edwards, Madeline's and others. There are definitely some things...like... Ok, I really want hanging baskets of flowers but I will NOT spend the $$ these places charge. I saw one at North end for $115!!! Gurl! Bye! Hard no hahaha! When I visit my mom back east, I can go to the Mennonites or Amish farms/nurseries and get huge baskets for $7! SEVEN. DOLLARS! That is stuck in my head. So when I see these prices everywhere here in Boise for the hanging flower baskets..I just cannot. Aside from that, I 1000% will be coming back to North End. This place, Madeline George's, and Edward's are my go to's now. All honestly offer their own unique experiences, plants, customer service etc. I called North End last week looking for a Blue Girl rose bush. He was nice enough to refer me to the other nurseries. I love when they do that. Told me to check Edwards. No luck. Found the LAST ONE tho at Far West. Another great nursery. I'm glad I joined the world of gardening. It's so much fun and gives me something to look forward to when it comes to summer and the pure hell that summer is hahaha! Discovering how great North End is...just added so much more joy to my new-ish found love of gardening. Didn't interact with staff at all while there. Very busy when I was there. That's fine tho. Hello! DOGGIES! Those are my favorite kind of employees anyway haha! Thanks North End! Glad we have you. And thanks for reading, YelperNorthEndereees! Cheers!

The staff is well-versed in all things garden and other plants. They're also friendly and helpful. I especially like the "succulent bar", where you can pick a succulent, a pot, and plant it yourself, using the perlite mix available. There's also an area for cute gifts and fun, locally made items. My purpose in going there for the healthy plants that haven't been sprayed with a bunch of chemicals, but there's so much more to this place, so definitely check it out!

While driving around town, always on the lookout for nurseries and the like. Realized after I parked, it's more of a landscaping company and outdoor kitchen design place. I was welcomed right away - told him I didn't have a yard to landscape, but was interested in gardening. He directed me to Daniel and their gardening hothouse. Well, I really lucked out meeting Daniel. I saw strawberry plants - and never having had experience - he filled me in. I learned about some different varieties, especially ever-bearing types. Wanted more info about the Seascape variety and he honestly told me he didn't know some things, so we went on the web and looked it up. Talk about customer service. He really gave me his undivided attention. When is the last time you got that? By the time I left, I knew what I was planting, what to plant it in and what to expect. Asked to take his photo, because at that point, I knew I was going to create a killer yelp review about this wonderful experience. Can't wait for my strawberries to come in . . . maybe I should drop off some ono strawberry shortcake for this dude as mahalo (thank you).

Easier when writing a review. We have 2 nurseries in my area. Maddie's and Edward's. Edwards is MASSSIVVVE. I mean, MASSIVE! It's better than any Home Depot or Lowe's nursery tho. Always buy from real nurseries. Edwards review will be coming after this one. Maddie's! Man, what a fantastic little place. I'm so glad we finally decided to go. Last year we painted our house black. So we, after all these years, decided to put a lot of work into our front gardens. I have personally always enjoyed rose gardens. Had one in Phoenix that was absolutely incredible. I managed to keep them unbelievably beautiful...even in that super dry, DEPRESSINGLY hot environment lol. I had a rose "garden" briefly here at this house. Sadly, I didn't tend to it the way I should have. Anyway! This year...started a new one. Bought 3 rose bushes from Maddie's and 5 from Edward's. The 3 from Maddie's: the "Marilyn Monroe (pics should be included. I believe I attached some) The Pope John Paul II (we needed a pure white rose up against a black background. STUNNING roses! Marilyn is next level stunning, too) 3rd one we got was a a Mr Lincoln. We got him a a few weeks. No buds yet, but we have new life on it and we are super excited to see what comes in a few weeks. Maddie's is a place you can tell where they take VERY great care of their plants. It's much smaller than Edward's. So it's almost like they could do a "one to one" type of thing. Not actually do that, but hopefully you get what I mean by that. It's kind of a bougie place too. That makes me happy. I see that and think....quality ass plants. That's exactly what they have too. The staff is absolutely INCREDIBLE. Some of the younger ones who don't know much about this plant or that one tho...should always refer customers to someone who knows the answers. I say that bc yesterday we asked a girl about care for the roses. With the heat jump last week, the roses weren't happy with that. Anyway, very nice girl was talking to us. Told us this and that and then we saw the manager and said "would she know?" The girl said..."oh she'd absolutely know" Hmm, ok, so we both thought...she probably should have referred us to her to begin with vs telling us to come back to talk to another woman who had helped us a couple weeks ago. I am in NO way trying to get anyone in trouble...especially bc I love this place so much. Everyone there is so very nice. Just a suggestion is all...that if you aren't sure about something in the nursery, remember there is always someone there who will know the answers. Enough with that. I'm sorry if I offended anyone at Maddie's with that. Not my intention at all. Ok, there is a little house on the property. Check it out when you go. It's suuuuuper homey! Looking out the windows too to the nursery is sorta magical...at least for me. That'd be a cool air bnb haha. I wonder if someone actually lived there tho in the past. This place is absolutely wonderful. Edwards is great, too, don't get me wrong. However, again, it's very very large. Maddie's you will always get one to one help with their employees. Edwards, same, but sometimes you have to go searching and sometimes you have to walk and walk to find help. Again, a review for them will come as well...and it'll be good as well. Maddie's also has this amazing dog who is super chill. I saw his name online but ugh can't remember it. Yellow Lab. Soooo cute! So sweet. A dog on the property is a major win in my book. They used to carry Christmas trees in the past. However, for like the past 2 years, I haven't seen them :( Now that I've actually gone to the nursery, if they get Christmas trees again, I'll definitely go there for it. It's a tad pricey. However, you are 100% getting top quality plants, flowers, etc. You feel that when you just walk in. Truly is a magical little place. I regret waiting so long to go, but so happy we finally made it there. We will be planting more roses next year and will for sure be getting them at Maddie's. Thanks for reading, YelperGeorgies! Cheers!

The owner helped us with some questions and we purchased a nice selection of blooms. It's quaint, but beautifully laid out with a great selection. I appreciate the high quality, yet simple selection that Madeline George provided. Highly recommend!

This is the best time of moving to a new area - checking out EVERYTHING. I got this down pat, too. Moved so much in my 62 yrs, my friends stopped keeping track of my address and nicknamed me Nomad. This is a no-frills plant and fountain pottery business. Was hoping to find small pots for indoors, but it's more of an outdoor, you got a big yard - kind of place. The pottery is beautiful (check out their site): boisepottery.com and the prices are very reasonable. Any of you older folks from SoCal may remember a place, Mainly Seconds. Their pottery was plentiful and cheap. This place reminds me of them. The tall square-top/round bottom ones are visually appealing. As are the low, round ones for planting a bunch of succulents. These are the type of containers you would see in a yard that is professionally landscaped. Some have been converted into fountains. Even the drainage dishes are nicely designed. The square/rectangular ones can be used for air plants or shallow-plants. Sorry, the creative gardener is coming out of me. When you go there, don't blink, you'll drive right by the place. It's non-descript out front, with a small parking area. While you're there, check out North End Organic Nursery. Two doors down, east on Chinden Blvd. You may end up back at this place to buy a new pot for your new plant.

Little Trucking (who they contract deliveries to) delivered 2 yards too much to the wrong client (I am a local garden business owner) and I was told by April at the front checkout that it happens and to 'find a truck and haul it' myself. This is after paying $85 to deliver and the delivery was within 3 miles of the store. I asked a friend with a truck for help because I couldn't leave material in someone's driveway - he took the afternoon off work and hauled 2 truckloads for me to the correct address. In prior conversations for bulk orders, working with April has been really difficult. She has said that she just wanted to be done with the conversations, that I was 'breaking her brain', and she was very short with me. I could tell when going in that she had talked with other employees making me into a 'difficult customer' - they wouldn't make eye contact with me. But I I never got angry, impatient, or rude. I feel guilty and wrong even though I am not sure what I did that was worth the treatment I got. I advocate for my client's requests I can't imagine going into Zamzows again - April is always at the front checkout. This has been horrible and I have always recommended Zamzows but I just can't anymore. No response from corporate, so I am leaving a review :(
