Stopped in on a Saturday night for dinner was able to get a table for two next to the bar. Staff was very nice and helped recommend some local spirits. I got the fish soup which was filling and very tasty but slightly salty. My husband got the meat stew and it was the perfect comfort food. We split the meat and cheese board. A nice selection but with the soups it was a lot of food for two. Definitely want to go back and try some of their entrees.

Great place to drink a cool beer on a warm dinner evening. This restaurant has a cool local feel and is just far enough from the cruise ships to avoid an abundance of tourists with cameras hanging from their necks and sweaters wrapped around their shoulders. Really people ... still going with the sweater + shoulder look?!? Anyways this place has a nice selection of beers and we enjoyed the pasta bolognese. This review only gets 4 star because the menu is very limited. Otherwise the food they do have is tasty, drinks were good and the restaurant is filled with fun people. I would definitely recommend if you want to try some local flavor.

Nice atmosphere. Food was great! Away from the hustle and bustle of the harbor area but not far. Worth the walk.

The fish soup with bread and the beef bourguignon with mashed potatoes were both very good.

The location is amazing, though somewhat hidden in the third floor above the other bustling wharf…read morerestaurants. Upon entering Bryggeriet exudes a warm, cozy, yet modern and sleek interior. The natural surroundings make you feel relaxed and comfortable. The host and manager helped to procure us a window table with incredible views or the harbor and Bryggen in the late evening, before sunset. The area was a bit warmer than was ideal, but it was mostly impart to the intense evening sun coming in all the glass. Service that evening was subpar, but the food was all amazing! We ordered our first Norwegian fish soup and it was better than I ever could have imagined. Like the absolute best bouillabaisse you've yet to have. We also shared some mussels with frites(honestly just needed to be cooked a little bit longer), and delicious butter with bread.

We were cozy, enclosed and happy upstairs. Staff are very warm and accommodating throughout the visit. Nice presentation and lots of roasted and puréed veg throughout. Shrimp in the soup was prob the freshest in recent memory. Fresh catch and meat was solid also though the steak edged out the monkfish just a hair. Highly recommend for the area and loved the extra touches at the table like votive candles, fur stoles and stone napkin holders - very Nordic chic.
