There are not a lot of people who look forward to going to the dentist and I downright dread it. I…read morehave avoided the dentist for the last four years because of horrible past experiences (mostly as a child). I found Dr. Stan Turner online after doing a Google search for pain free dentistry and also looked at the listing who I am approved for through my insurance. I was able to request an appointment online and I was called back the next day to set up a date and time. I had my first initial visit and I actually enjoyed the experience because I was told exactly what was going on and was even shown a short video of how one of their lasers works (to detect cavities, totally painless). Knowing what was going on was comforting. I was asked to schedule another appointment for the next week so I could come in with my husband and talk about the proposed treatment plan. The staff was very reassuring that what I have done is my choice and that they will tell me what they recommend is best for me, and what time lines work best with my insurance. Today I went in for my cleaning and I was given Novocaine so I would not feel anything (because I am super sensitive and horrified of the pain associated with things like that). The only thing I felt during the shots was slight pressure and Dr. Turner continually made sure that he was not hurting me. Everybody is kind, patient and nonjudgmental. I felt genuinely cared for, which is something I have never experienced at a dentist before. I still have a lot of upcoming appointments with them and my fear has really gone down. Bonus points for being able to confirm online, view insurance/bills online and also, my favorite, being able to see the estimated time of each appointment. Update: They have massaging chairs! MASSAGING CHAIRS! Enough said!

I have such severe ptsd from prior dentistry that I have panic attacks just thinking about going to the dentist. After several trips to this office with Dr. Stan Turner and his assistants, I can confidently say they have lessened my anxiety so tremendously. They don't judge you for your teeth or hygiene, and they are definitely somebody I would recommend to everybody. I'm so glad I randomly picked this place because they have truly changed my life for the better and validated all my concerns!

The staff may be professional but they aren't friendly or compassionate. In my personal opinion…read morethis dental office borders between disinterested and disrespectful. I asked questions regarding the many uncomfortable X-rays being taken and was told this is how we do things. The tech kept telling me to open my mouth wider, when my it was as open as I could manage. I now have bruising in the roof of my mouth from the equipment used! When I asked the tech how long she'd been at her job, she replied almost a year. The treatment received is the reason a great majority of people like myself loathe going to the dentist! Ive been in the Abilene area for 12 years now and have yet found a dentist/hygienist gentle and compassionate enough to want to go every dix months! Lord how I miss the Dallas Metropolitan area when it comes to Medical and Dental care!

Nice building operating a Sh*t Show!!…read more From first appointment, on Monday, Mrs. Dr. Manju Kanagarla is highly disrespectful and demonstrates lack of professionalism (aggressive in tone and passive aggressive behavior and body language).... And culture is Not the issue as this behavior is highly disrespectful and unprofessional regardless of what your culture is. I requested a replacement lower and upper with the lower being a snap in of which I was scolded and told that she Dr K.was not able to do this because the original snap in screws were not done in her office. So I opted for regular denture replacements. On this appointment the expat was done and since the Dr. recommend that I do a 3D scan to see if I am a candidate for denture implants. On the next appointment Monday the mold was done they tried to sale me dentures that could be turned into implants later despite being told I was not a candidate for implants due to bone loss. The next appointment I arrive only to sit for almost a hour and then be told that the person who was to do my was they on was sick. So I was rescheduled for the following Monday. The following Monday was the first wax try on with which consisted of a Lack of communication by staff and Dentist who is one of the owners Mrs. Dr. K. when working on my teeth. Highly unprofessional, with a full on conversation with the dental tech about her hair appointment and new blond highlights that took soooo many foils. Yet fails to have discussed about my service, what is being done and what to expect or ensuring that I understand. I might as well have been a practice mechanical doll. I had to ask about the lip support needed of which I overheard as they talked to each other over my head and didn't share any information about my services with me. I show up for the wax try on with lip support added only to be told that they needed to reschedule me again. The next appointment I am seen by a Dentist that I don't know and have never seen. Dr. O. When I asked about said lip support due to (try on of teeth showing extreme drooping of my face.) the dental assistant response and dentist that I do not know and have never had a conversation with is a look like deer in headlights. I reminded them that at my first wax try on without the teeth applied included a discussion about the need for lip support and the previous tech assured me that it was part of what the Doctor mentioned was needed. I'm told by the dentist assistant that she does have Dr. K. Note about adding lip support and next appointment I will have a try on with said support. Next appointment on a Monday I show up and I'm told that everyone in office is out sick and I will be rescheduled. I once again confirm that this appointment will be wax try on with upper lip support. I'm scheduled for 12:30 despite the other being closed at this time. I asked about it and was told that someone will be there to see me since I'm being sent to the Brownwood Tx office. I show up to the Brownwood office and I'm told my appointment was the day prior on Tuesday. I show my appointment card which confirms my Wednesday appointment Dec 10 that 12:30. I'm told that the Dentist is out to lunch but since my appointment card says it is to be Wednesday they will put me in for 1:00pm. Although this appointment was wax try on with teeth attached and upper lip support. I am told it is the Final. I once again mentioned the need for such. Dentures provided are extremely thin and lacking the upper lip support discussed and promised during the first wax try on appointment. When I tried the dentures on they caused pain to my upper jawline, and I couldn't bite down. I am told that they can have the tech to fix the issue. After 2 or 3 adjustments to add the lip support dentures remained so painful that I couldn't even put them on let alone bite down. I literally asked to receive what I paid for. What good is dentures that I can't wear!!!! Finally I have requested a refund and was told they had to ask the office manager to see what she says. This experience has been very distressing and I have lost wages from taking off work and having appointments cancelled without informing me.

Let me start by saying im hard to please due to horrible experiences in the past…read more Ive seen over 10 dentists and had multiple fillings, extractions and crowns. Ive had more money spent on my mouth than ive spent in my life on my own car.. Ive been traumatized by dentists from teeth pulling under ZERO numbing and careless behavior. Ive experienced anxiety and panic attacks at every visit, to the point of tears and rescheduled visits. HOWEVER... That being said, Smart dentistry and Dr. Smart is by far the best, i no longer experience anxiety before or at visits. She gets the job done and does a wonderful job. My front teeth are beautiful and i got my smile back in time for my wedding. If you feel like something isn't right she will listen, adjust and work it out with you until you feel that its better, and she explains what and whys so you aren't left guessing. I was nervous in the beginning but I've learned to trust her wholly and my mouth is now better than its been in so long! Thank You Dr. SMART! For the work you've have done and the patience you've had with me.
