From first appointment, on Monday, Mrs. Dr. Manju Kanagarla is highly disrespectful and demonstrates lack of professionalism (aggressive in tone and passive aggressive behavior and body language).... And culture is Not the issue as this behavior is highly disrespectful and unprofessional regardless of what your culture is. I requested a replacement lower and upper with the lower being a snap in of which I was scolded and told that she Dr K.was not able to do this because the original snap in screws were not done in her office. So I opted for regular denture replacements. On this appointment the expat was done and since the Dr. recommend that I do a 3D scan to see if I am a candidate for denture implants. On the next appointment Monday the mold was done they tried to sale me dentures that could be turned into implants later despite being told I was not a candidate for implants due to bone loss. The next appointment I arrive only to sit for almost a hour and then be told that the person who was to do my was they on was sick. So I was rescheduled for the following Monday. The following Monday was the first wax try on with which consisted of a Lack of communication by staff and Dentist who is one of the owners Mrs. Dr. K. when working on my teeth. Highly unprofessional, with a full on conversation with the dental tech about her hair appointment and new blond highlights that took soooo many foils. Yet fails to have discussed about my service, what is being done and what to expect or ensuring that I understand. I might as well have been a practice mechanical doll. I had to ask about the lip support needed of which I overheard as they talked to each other over my head and didn't share any information about my services with me. I show up for the wax try on with lip support added only to be told that they needed to reschedule me again. The next appointment I am seen by a Dentist that I don't know and have never seen. Dr. O. When I asked about said lip support due to (try on of teeth showing extreme drooping of my face.) the dental assistant response and dentist that I do not know and have never had a conversation with is a look like deer in headlights. I reminded them that at my first wax try on without the teeth applied included a discussion about the need for lip support and the previous tech assured me that it was part of what the Doctor mentioned was needed. I'm told by the dentist assistant that she does have Dr. K. Note about adding lip support and next appointment I will have a try on with said support. Next appointment on a Monday I show up and I'm told that everyone in office is out sick and I will be rescheduled. I once again confirm that this appointment will be wax try on with upper lip support. I'm scheduled for 12:30 despite the other being closed at this time. I asked about it and was told that someone will be there to see me since I'm being sent to the Brownwood Tx office. I show up to the Brownwood office and I'm told my appointment was the day prior on Tuesday. I show my appointment card which confirms my Wednesday appointment Dec 10 that 12:30. I'm told that the Dentist is out to lunch but since my appointment card says it is to be Wednesday they will put me in for 1:00pm. Although this appointment was wax try on with teeth attached and upper lip support. I am told it is the Final. I once again mentioned the need for such. Dentures provided are extremely thin and lacking the upper lip support discussed and promised during the first wax try on appointment. When I tried the dentures on they caused pain to my upper jawline, and I couldn't bite down. I am told that they can have the tech to fix the issue. After 2 or 3 adjustments to add the lip support dentures remained so painful that I couldn't even put them on let alone bite down. I literally asked to receive what I paid for. What good is dentures that I can't wear!!!! Finally I have requested a refund and was told they had to ask the office manager to see what she says. This experience has been very distressing and I have lost wages from taking off work and having appointments cancelled without informing me. read more

Absolutely terrible dentistry practice. Spent over $1k on dental work with little to show for it. After 2 crowns that were destroyed within 5mins of being put in and a 3rd potential one to replace those first two. I walked out of there with a gold crown in a plastic bag and my teeth corrected somewhere else. But don't worry, that gold crown was on them, so I should be lucky that they didn't make me pay for that as well. Needless to say if o could give a negative rating I would. Moved to the Abilene area about a year ago and needed to find a dentist. I settled on Aspen Dental. Made an appointment and went in for my exam, x-rays and cleaning. As far as I knew, there was nothing wrong, just preventative maintenance. Possibly a scaling, but that's it. I was more than alarmed when the dentist came in and said I had SIX cavities. In addition, one of the cavities was behind a crown so that would have to be re-done. I also had another crown that had come loose and just needed to be glued back, but no, you need a new crown. By this time, I had already decided that I would get another opinion before I begin any "treatment plan", which came to about $2,500 with insurance. Fast forward six months and I go to another dentist. A new set of x-rays, a new exam and what do you know, NO CAVITIES! Not a one! I also didn't need a scaling or any crown work. Long story short, the dentist said everything looked good, I paid $20 and will go back in six months. Aspen Dental's business plan is designed to get you in the office every three months or so. Although the staff are very nice... after paying them over $4000 which as far as they had said was full payment... they kept telling me I owed for a service $151.41, I did not get nor wanted. Their bookkeepers don't know what they are doing up front apparently. And on top of that, the tooth they did a root canal on and capped... has been sensitive ever since the day they did it. I paid the $151.41 once they sent it to collection to protect my credit the day I received the notice. But they will never get my business or a good recommendation from me. read more

If you can wait to get an appointment with a local dentist you should do it. They tried to double bill me twice but I kept my receipts. - I have a contract for full dentures upper & lower with 7 years full warranty paid in full - A free annual denture cleaning is written in the contract - I made an appointment for the denture cleaning and it was canceled and rescheduled several times because they were "short-handed" - On the day of my appointment, the office wanted to charge $60 dollars for an exam and I refused the exam because it was not in the contract and not related to denture cleaning - I got a new appointment and they offered to do the exam for $40. I refused the exam as I only wanted the denture cleaning. The full conversation was recorded. They told me to leave the office and refused to do the denture cleaning. - I got a letter and they kicked me out, and I am now banned and they will not honor the contract and warranty. - I received an additional letter dated two days after the the first letter wanting me to schedule an appointment. - After this they called and left messages wanting me to schedule another appointment - My wife called the office to speak with a manager and she said I was rude and I will have to go to a different dentist and the warranty will not be honored and that I am banned from all Aspen dental offices. I'm going to start with the postive, I rate Crytal the Dental Assistant 5 stars. She was the only one that showed any care and actually listened to what my concerns were. She is a ASSET to the Dental staff. For the office staff (Abilene, Texas location) If I could give them a -0 I would They never answer their phone, you leave messages, you never get a call back, I went as far as leaving emails NEVER responded. I contact the corporate office and she even emailed the office manager and I still never got a phone call or email, My Initial appointment in February was due to abscessed tooth that needed to be pulled I explained that I was having surgery the second week in March and I needed it taken care of before hand. It was infected so I was unable to have it pulled until I finished the antibiotic regiment, 2 days before finishing the Med's I started calling, emailing to schedule my appointment, That is when the whole ordeal started. I finally got through and their excuse was they were to busy and under staffed, My appointment was scheduled at 10 am (after almost 3 weeks) I checked in they day of my appointment and sat there and watched since they stated they were to busy and understaffed. I watched the office manager restocking behind the counter as well as Mary O'Brien doing the same thing TRYING to find something to do to look busy. If they are that busy and understaffed why were those 2 employee's not helping with answering phone calls or emails? So that was a lie, that is just lack of poor management and her responsibility. They did attempt to make the poor service and planning right, but only after treating me disrespectfully and talking over me and down to me, and by giving me $200 off a $2500 crown. I would give negative stars if I could! I was charged $190 my first visit for a regular visit and a cleaning which was covered under my insurance. I was advised I needed my wisdom teeth removed with no explanation and when I asked questions I was talked around. I inquired about a missing filling that I thought was causing the pain on my right side and received no response on my inquiry. I was told I needed Motto or braces and told I would have to pay $1,800 when I was there for a cleaning and yearly visit only. I was also given prices for removing each wisdom tooth and I could not understand why this was being pushed so hard when I was given no real explanation. I was in check-out forever and then told I owed $190 with no explanation after they pushed Motto liners as hard as they could. I was so frustrated as I was there for 3 hours for a visit that should have included my cleaning but it did not so I paid and left because I thought the visit would never end. My cleaning was scheduled for a few days later where the visit lasted for hours once again and checkout told me I owed $176 and I laughed and said no, then what did I pay $190 for at my first visit? I then received the deer in headlights look and they were silent. Then they said oh okay well now you owe $19. I said what? For what? The two girls looked at me and said for your next visit in two weeks. The next visit was a follow up after my cleaning that was not with the doctor which I found odd. I absolutely refused to pay for a visit I had not had yet and left. Please keep in mind no one ever mentioned my wisdom teeth again that was such a massive concern at my first visit, nor did they mention braces. I also was given a mouthwash with no explanation, so I assumed it was as a courtesy or came with the cleaning. As I left after my cleaning, I saw that the breakdown I was given at checkout that claimed I owed $176 which showed they previously charged me $30 for a mouthwash and a cleaning that I was NOT made aware of, nor was it ever mentioned this was outside of my benefits. Not one time was my cleaning explained prior to being scheduled and not one time did anyone from the office say - now here is the cleaning your insurance covers and here is what we can do at this cost which would you prefer? NOT ONCE did that happen. I was so frustrated that I called my insurance and discovered my initial visit was charged to them at $150 and paid in full by my insurance. I informed my insurance I was billed $190 and gave them a full breakdown of what this place did, and they were shocked. I also explained the cleaning and sent my insurance the breakdown I was given. On the phone in real time my insurance reviewed the documents I sent and were shocked as Fluoride was billed for and that is for children and would be denied by the insurance. I have now reported the office for billing fraud and to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. I had facts and tried to inform the office of what I knew and to make things right but the office attempted to inform me I was mistaken. I am pretty sure I am aware of what they are doing, and you should be as well! I am still waiting for my medical records so I can go and get a second opinion because I have zero clue if there is anything that needs done to my teeth. He was nasty to his poor assistant who was so sweet and helpful. Their office staff are not trained properly and/or are inconsistent in paperwork. They do not take time to make patients comfortable or to explain procedures or recovery. They make patients feel like cattle. It's like they need to get each one through as fast as possible regardless of the pain or trauma they might cause to patients. Making speed a priority rather than the patient's comfort causes the patient much more pain in the long run. They high pressure people into procedures and are somewhat dishonest, vague, and/or inconsistent in what they provide for a set amount of money. The only advantage is that they help to find dental financing, yet they still forget to explain the details of the financing. If you use them, INSIST on the fine print. Get detailed documentation. Don't waste your time. I scheduled my extractions and immediate dentures THREE weeks in advance. They didn't call me until the afternoon before my procedure. I called back several times with no answer, left a voicemail. I received my confirmation email that morning, came to my appointment, for them to tell me that they screwed up my immediate denture and it's not ready. After requesting my card be refunded for the money they had already charged me for the surgery/dentures I hadn't even had yet, they suggested rushing the entire denture making process to try to keep me as a customer since I am not able to reschedule after already taking time off work and planning everything else around this surgery. This happened 3 years ago. They tried to drill 15 cavities in my teeth that my other dentist said only one of those was actually a cavity. They also tried to scare me by saying I had gingivitis and that I needed to buy their expensive mouth wash plus an overpriced tooth brush that squirts water out of it. The business manager insisted I needed all these accessories and the cavities drilled. I told him I was going to get a second opinion and he acted put out. Everything was about the money. The mouth piece dug into my gums when I got x rays. We waited over an hour to get in to see them and there was hardly anyone there. The office hours on the doors state 8-8. Their ad states walk-ins welcome. The ad phone number sends you to a call center whom told me that they closed at 8pm. I was in excruciating pain. I arrived at 7pm, couldn't get there earlier, and they were closed. The next day, they say to me that they closed at 5:30 because they only had a day dentist and the evening dentist was working at another town. I feel that if a company can't be open during posted hours then not only should their scheduling team (in another town/state) need to be up to date on their hours but also the company should post different hours on their doors. read more

This is the worst dental experience of my entire life. I had a loose bridge on the left side, that had now fallen completely, but at the time of my visit it was not, it was just loose. They advertise "free initial exam, including X-rays". So, I schedule it on their 1-800 number and go there first thing in the morning at 8AM. I am told to arrive 15 minutes early to complete the paperwork. I do so, nobody is there until after 8AM. After all the paperwork and X-Rays I finally see the doctor, who is known as Dr. "K". His wife is Dr. "M". Dr. "K" looks at my X-Rays and tells me that he has to take my bridge apart and extract one of my teeth that supports it, because it is this tooth that is wiggling due to a bone loss around it, the bridge is otherwise perfectly sealed. I was not ready to have such dramatic procedure done, so Dr. "K" advises me that I can leave, if I disagree with this treatment, which would result in total loss of my bridge and thousands of dollars in bone crafting for implants. I do leave, then all the "freebies" of the "initial visit" are gone -- I am told that I have cancelled the free exam and I have to pay about $250 as a result. So -- new patients, be aware: do not go there, because if you disagree with the most expensive dental treatment plan possible, and fully accept it, they will kick you out of their practice with nothing, plus you will have to pay them for the nothing that you received. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have had so much work done by them and it's all been crap. In June of 2016, I had 2 bridges done. In November of 2018, I found out one of the teeth that had been used as an anchor for the bridge was infected and had been infected for a long time, it needed a second root canal. I had the second root canal done in hopes of saving the tooth. One year after the having the second root canal done, the bridge fell off. The tooth that had had the second root canal needed to come out. At that point, they told me I needed a double bridge. I was hesitant, because I didn't even know double bridges could be done. But, they assured me it would be ok, so we went for it. Every time I went in, I saw a different dentist. None of them seemed to know my case, and I found myself having to tell them "no, I'm not here for a crown, I'm here for a double bridge." The dental assistants seemed to be doing most of the work, as they were the ones fitting me for a new bridge etc. After several different appointments, I finally had the new bridge cemented on there. In March of 2020, my single bridge popped off while I was brushing my teeth. It was one of the ones done in June of 2016. Bridges should last at least 5 years. I went to see another dentist and was told that the bridge would have to be completely redone, however my insurance wouldn't cover it because it hadn't been 5 years. So, I'm having to have 2 crowns done and an implant done where the missing tooth is. Fast forward to May of 2020, the double bridge that had just been done at the end of January 2020 fell off. Another trip to my new dentist where I was informed that that bridge would have to be redone, but that even he couldn't guarantee it would last, because one of teeth that was being used as an anchor had been filed down to basically nothing and would most likely not hold another double bridge. So, once again, I'm having to have crowns done on the teeth still left and implants done where the missing teeth are. That double bridge didn't even last 4 months!! At this point, all I want is a refund for the double bridge that didn't even last 4 months. I will NEVER again let Aspen Dental in Abilene anywhere near my mouth!! Of course, my husband and I have both called the office a few times asking for a refund, we've been told someone would return our phone call and so far have not received a call back. I just want the money back we paid for the double bridge, so I can put that money towards the implants and crowns that need to be done on both sides of my mouth. I've been put through so much pain by this office, thousands of dollars spent (not to mention what they got from the insurance company), for work that didn't last near as long as it should've. If that wasn't enough, I was also told by a dental hygienist at Aspen that I had Periodontitis and needed some $1800 topical antibiotics that insurance didn't cover. We did refuse that since insurance didn't cover it. During the midst of getting the rest of the work redone the last few months, I also saw a periodontist and was told that I did NOT have Periodontitis. So, as a warning to anyone that is considering having work done at Aspen Dental in Abilene, PLEASE get yourself a second opinion!! It may cost you a little extra money up front, but could save you thousands in the long run! If I could go back in time, it's what I would do. I might have saved myself some pain and anguish, not to mention a lot of time and money. Her dental assistant, Lili, coordinated perfectly with the dentist and did an outstanding job. Dr. "K" Kanagarla, who came in to perform the last procedure, was not only quick & efficient; but had such a joyful, kind demeanor as to put me completely at ease. Last, but not least, was their office/finance gal, Brianna, who handled everything so smoothly. She answered all my questions when she helped me with my 0 interest financing & was truly sweet as can be. All in all, painless. I have another upcoming appointment and for once I'm not stressed about it. Completely top notch work from completely top notch, kind & caring professionals. The physician that evaluated her had told her it was a cavity and that she had gingivitis (found out later this was a ploy for money to get us to buy their product) She schedules another appointment at Aspen and gets put on a long waiting list, the dentist there was rude and when my wife had complained that there was not enough pain killers and that she could feel everything. The dentist ended up getting mad and not giving her more because she had had enough even though you could see her physically wincing. I had an abscessed tooth, and they got me in the same morning. Great right? They take the x-ray, figure what needs done, the dentist herself was actually nice. The problem comes when they give me the details of everything that needs done. They needed a release from my Dr. to do the work since I'm on blood thinners. Dr. gets it there same day. They call me and ask how I plan on paying. I didn't have enough for all the cosmetic stuff that needed done, but had enough to cover the extractions needed to keep me out of pain and keep the abscess out of my mouth. They said they were going to talk to their office manager and see if they can provide financial help and said they'd call me right back. This was 2 weeks ago. I've called and they told me they would have someone call me back. Nothing. Call their support team and get hung up on 2 times while they are researching my account. My boyfriend and I have been going here for a month or two now, and overall we've been decently pleased with their services, despite the many encounters we've had with rude staff members. But recently we were greatly disappointed in our visit, or rather lack-thereof. We live over an hour away from this location, which means we have an hour and 15 minute long drive to get there. For this reason we always leave at least 15 to 20 minutes early, to make up for any lost time. This day, my boyfriend had an appointment at 4 pm, so we left our house early, and started heading over. On the way, there was a wreck on the highway and traffic was backed up for over 30 minutes. Finally, at about 4:07, managing to be just under 10 minutes late, we were less than a block away from the building, pulling towards the parking lot, when we received a call from the woman at the front desk. She told us the appointment was cancelled because there was "absolutely no wiggle room" in being late. After explaining that we were IN the parking lot, that my boyfriend had to take off of work 3 weeks in advance for this, that we drove an hour and a half to be here, and that we were only late because of a wreck holding up traffic on the highway, she told us it was too bad, and that we had to go home, because we weren't being seen. She also told us that she couldn't take us because the appointment would "take too long" and that they closed at 5;30 pm, even though their sign, website, and desk area says they don't close until 8 pm. On top of that, his appointment was rescheduled to be over two months away, and we were told they had absolutely no openings any time sooner. So we accepted and went home. After being harassed by texts, emails, and automated calls all that week, telling us to reschedule his appointment (even though we already had?), I finally called them back and they scheduled him to come in around a week and a half from now. Constantly re-scheduled, told that the hygienist that did our expensive deep cleaning was fired for not doing her job correctly, not offered a refund or procedure, then told that our initial dentist calls in sick to work all the time to use the female one instead.. Just for her to refuse treatment 2 days before a procedure. it has been over 6 months and several hundred dollars now and NOTHING has been done. There is no way I will ever ever step foot back in aspen dental! Took my daughter to the one in Abilene. They completely forgot her! 6 people came in after my daughter and got back before my daughter. When I lost my cool! Then she got called back for x-rays and cleaning. Now! What makes aspen dental even MORE horrible! I was told my daughter needs braces. So I scheduled her appointment got her xrays and set up an appt to get her braces on. I get a phone call from the orthodontist. My daughter can't get braces yet. Why??? Because she has an extra tooth called a mesiodens. That is in the front of her mouth. Behind her front tooth to the left. That! Aspen in Abilene didn't see! And can't say well the time period from the dentist to the orthodontist it could have popped up. Because my daughter got her xrays at the orthodontist not even 2 weeks from going to aspen! If the orthodontist didn't notice and started shifting her teeth. That extra tooth would end up breaking her roots and she could have lost her permanent teeth!!! She is now scheduled to have surgery to have it cut out of her gums so she can have her braces. Why charge for X-rays and clearly can't read them! This place is horrible and a joke read more

I can't say enough good about your staff in Abilene, Texas. I have super sensitive teeth and gums and haven't been to a dentist in seven years because of it. The staff made sure I was very numb and when I had an unexpected reaction to the anesthesia, they handled it well and made sure I was ok. You can tell that the staff really cares about their patients and they take pride in their work. The dental hygentist is especially warm and caring. I would really recommend them to everyone who is looking for a great dental experience. read more
