Where do i start...
I'm new to the area and switched dentist because my dentist was in Hialeah and I was now living in Kendall. I had a check up and cleaning and overall it went well. Dr Q even complimented my skin. She said i had great skin. I thought to myself, seems like a good place.
Well 6/28 comes around and i had to go in to see her unexpectedly because over the weekend a molar cracked. I was NOT in pain or feeling any discomfort but obviously had to get it fixed.
1st of all. Dr Q wanted to charge me the complete total up front for crown which I did not understand why. That has never been the case anywhere else I have gone. She claimed that insurances tend to deny crowns and if they approved it she would reimburse me. Luckily I talked her into allowing me to pay half.
She begins to work on prepping me for crown and several times states my mouth is too small. Never heard that one either. Places this gadget to keep my tongue from getting in the way. Later her assistant places temp crown but while she is doing that she's talking to another co worker about a new TV and how many inches and I'm thinking its only my mouth she is working on.
Anyways, I go home and felt discomfort that night, pain and discomfort the following day, and the following. Finally decided to call them and let them know and I went back in. Dr Q checked me and i told her i was in pain but she put some air on my temp crown and when i jumped she said oh thats the problem and asked her assistant to seal it with whatever cement substance they use. Mind you assistant and coworkers back with their personal conversations that i really didn't need to be part of.
So i go home and OMG i had the worse night ever. I was taking 2x625 tylenols plus 2x200 Advils every 4 to 6 hours. I was in excruciating pain. I called the office Saturday morning and left a message because thats what it said to do if i had an emergency, so i did. Needless to say no one ever called me back. Well i was this way all of Saturday, Sunday, Monday (4th of July). Finally i decided i was not going back to Dr Q and went back to my old dentist in Hialeah. The best ever by the way!
It turns out my root was dead which is like necrosis of a toe and i had to have a root canal and am currently taking antibiotics. Funny thing is my root was just fine according to Dr Q so something must have happened during the prep to kill my root.
Anyways, following my root canal with Dr Garcia (best dentist ever) i got home and did not experience any pain. I did not have to take anymore pain killers. Before i got home i did go to see Dr Q to let her know how my weekend was in excruciating pain but she was too busy with veneers and i was told she would call me back. Oh and before i forget, when i walked in the front desk girl said at 1:00pm hours after they opened, oh i was just about to call you because i got your message. Three days later. Really?
Dr Q called me back and i told her everything i went through and what Dr Garcia told me had happened which she said couldn't be true. She also said that she would not proceed with my treatment at my request but refused to refund me for any of the money i paid her. Also, submitted claim to insurance which i had to call and let them know everything that happened so that they dont pay her their portion. A tells them that the work was completed and the crown was ready. When did the crown get done? Because when i spoke to her the day before she never said it was ready. All of sudden its ready.
Bottom line. I do not recommend her. I've had the worst dental experience in my 48 years of life.
Oh and left 1 star because i couldn't post review without choosing a star.
Oh and if you need to charge the work because you don't have cash on hand or in bank get ready to pay 3% above cost. Just letting you know. read more
