This medical center is pretty much what I had in mind for general healthcare. The waiting room is…read morenice - warm lighting, TV with news, subdued artwork on the walls, and professional reception staff. However, more importantly, both the doctor and the nurse I saw were so efficient, thorough, professional, and warm. This visit put my uncertainties at ease when it comes to finding a new physician (moved here a year ago from the U.S.A.) I was very pleased with my visit and feel I'm in good hands. Here's to 'an apple a day' keeping the doctor away - but, if it doesn't, this is where I'll be!

I've been going to Mercer for 5 years now as it's linked to my college so everything is free for me…read moreuntil I graduate so I'm not familiar with the charges, but the clinic is very clean and most of the doctors are very nice and professional. Over the years the doctors working there have changed and I usually seem to get a different doctor each time a make an appointment. I can understand that they are a busy clinic, but it would be handy to see the same doctor so you don't have to explain things multiple times or have them stare at the computer trying to figure out your medical history. On a good day I only wait 5-10 mins from my appointed time, but on a really bad day it can go up to 30mins. The clinic itself is very clean and big, has BBC on the tv and it's not too hard to make an appointment with the exception of December~ January. They do travel health and immunisations as well at a cheaper rate than places like Tropical Medical Bureau but are only open until 5:30pm. Overall, nice clinic, efficient service and professional staff.

I would highly recommend it. The only drawback is that they don't have any of the modalities like Ultrasound or Shockwave therapy that you find in bigger clinics. The great thing is that Hanover Medical is open late until 7pm mon-thurs, which is really convenient as I tend to finish college late and most practices close at 5 or 5:30 while most people work until 5. Appointments are not too hard to get, usually you can get one a day or two ahead but same-day appointments depends in the day. The clinic is really clean and modern and the receptionists are quick to reply to appointments. I emailed the night before and got a reply the following morning for a morning 10:30 appointment. I saw Dr. Sheila Byrne who was very nice and thorough with the consultation. I only waited 15 mins for my appointment which is ok compared to my previous gp where I'd usually wait 1 hour. The only drawback is price, where anything extra costs. The GP fee range is €60-120, in that there is a charge for extended consultation in addition to the standard fee of €60, so no chit-chat here. Bloods are done by the nurse and not the doctor, so a separate appointment is needed but they are open early from 8am which is convenient for fasting bloods. The pill renewal is only €30 with the nurse which is great and very quick as I don't think many other practices have that.

I love doctor Rogers, she is like the sweetest and the softest doctor ever, she really makes me feel that she cares. I kinda feel like coming back there just for her. But the fact that they don't send the blood test results over email, and you have to come pick them up in person, is like SO OLDSCHOOL. More than that, at first they refused to give me my results unless I have another appointment with the doctor. Then they changed their mind and I got my results, but the impression of the clinic was ruined already. So, I give three stars for that.

No apologies nothing and a mouth piece put in. I'm fasting no food or water and sedative is administered. Felt nothing and tried to let the surgeon know but the nurse pushed my head down told me not to move or try speaking.... In recovery and removed everything myself bar the cannula. No one came near me. They almost forgot to take bloods again before I left. Private hospital????

I have always received that here and to add, the price is reasonable considering the area. Very bright, relaxing atmosphere and they certainly help nervous patients. Pricing is roughly on a par with other dental practices so there doesn't appear to be a private blackrock premium added on top. This review is for the Emergency Department in particular…read more I gotta say I'm impressed. I went in through main reception and they pleasantly directed me to the right area. Once in the hospital part, everyone was lovely. When I reached the ER, it was calm quiet and only 2 other people were there waiting. My details were taken, a wrist band was placed on me and I waited on a chair for all of 4 minutes. I was then seen by a nurse who took all the particulars of the problem, asked me a whole lot of questions. She took my temp, not with any old archaic mechanism..she waved what I can only assume is a tricorder in front of my forehead!! She then took me to a room with a bed and fancy machines. This was no trolly with a curtain. A full fledged bed (very comfy as well) in a proper room with walls and a sliding frosted glass door. (open and closed by hand motions..I felt I was on the USS Enterprise!) I was given a nice soft cotton gown, fairly decent for a hospital gown and was told they were going to give me an ECG. The nurse arrived about 10 mins later and he was absolutely lovely. Did the ECG, then went saying someone would come for bloods shorty. About 10 mins later, yes, the nurse arrived to take blood. She kept me chatting and although she had some difficulty in getting anything from me (I'm hard to get blood from) I'm delighted to report that I've barely a mark from it. My GP usually makes a balls of it and I have bruises everywhere from it. The ECG guy arrived back a few minutes later to take me to xray. Again, very pleasant chap. The xray person was so nice as well. Back in my room, I waited maybe 20 minutes for the Dr. He came in, seen me, and said as long as my bloods came back OK I could go home. 10 minutes later the results were in and I could go. From the time I walked in the door, until I walked out: 2 hours. Can you imagine if I'd have gone elsewhere? A few years back I was sent to ER elsewhere by a Dr, I had to wait 4 hours just to get a nurse to speak with me. Then another 2 hours for the Dr to see me. I used to work in a hospital for a bit, the number of people waiting over 2 days to be tested and seen by a Dr was frightening. I know people sneer at the cost, and its a shame they have a review of 1 star because of their parking charges, but what value do you put on your health? I know people who spend more on dinner and drinks than a visit here costs. Everyone has their priorities, mine is this. Ireland has created this 2 tier system, thankfully I have the capacity to pay. For full disclosure, I paid 140 euros to attend and the ECG, X-rays and full bloodwork came to 240. 380 in total. Totally worth every penny. If I needed to, I'd take a out loan to go again if I had to.
