Has COPD, emphysema, etc. Every doctor she's been to in the past, regarding her breathing , has been a nightmare. Doesn't care about my mom's concerns with how certain inhalers make her feel. They always seemed to rush the appointment and not genuinely care about my mom's worsening condition. NOT HERE!!! Dr. B treated my mom as if it was her mom. We first spent almost an hour with Robert (her assistant), who is amazing himself! So caring, informative, and funny. He listened to my mom, asked her questions, and helped guide her through all her breathing tests she had to do, while encouraging her along the way. Then Dr. B arrived! What an amazing lady. She listened to all my mom's concerns, helped to calm her nerves and came up with a great plan to help my mom BREATHE!!! She put my mom on a medicated inhaler that works great for her. Got my mom hooked up with a breathing machine for at home and a portable one to use at work. So.... Turns out my insurance doesn't cover it because they are out of network. Well turns out Dr office billing used Jeff Willoughby instead of Walter, maybe the son from a different location. I tried to reach out to the billing person, Michelle, many times and have not received a callback or response. Initially the bill was for multiple visit charges and when speaking to Michelle about the discrepancy she just informed sh would remove all charges because in order to go to a 2nd appt for online confirmation all bills need to be paid. Then she said if insurance doesn't pay they will usually write off the extra charges. Well what good is it to see an amazing Dr if you have to deal with billing issues from hell from their office?? I am unable to see Dr because I don't want my bills to double on every visit. **Update** Michelle from billing researched the issue and turns out that although Dr. Walter Jeff Willoughby is covered under insurance BCBS, my coverage is under a subset called HPN (High Performance Network) , which the Dr. is not covered under and thus the billing issue. Sadly I'm not covered as the office is out of network. Dr. Willoughby is very thorough, caring, and professional, he helped me find a better medication and he will be missed. When the girl at the desk informed me of the late arrival policy and she turned me away, I was shocked, as she pointed to a notice which was taped on the glass separating me from her. It said something to the effect of... late arrivals will not be seen. I informed her that I had not seen that notice when I was at my last appointment and that there was nothing on the website specifying any such policy. She just looked at me with a blank stare. I left there FUMING, swearing to never go back. Then a month or so later, to my utter amazement, I received a bill for the appointment I was turned away from. I then called my insurance company and reported these people and was assured that they were not about to pay for an appointment that I showed up for and was then denied. So, remember to always inform your insurance company if a doctors office tries to pull a fast one on you like these guys did to me. This is the worst business I've ever dealt with. These people obviously don't know how to run a business and should not BE in business. I've got some serious issues going on between my heart and lungs and I can't afford to be jerked around. I decided to try this doctor being a DO after he saw my mom in the hospital and did an amazing job…read morein my opinion. I needed a new doctor since my Asthma/Allergy doctor left his practice. However, since seeing him in his office and the last two visits with PA Steiner, my opinion has completely changed on these guys. First off I'll say, I will never go back here and I don't recommend them. As pulmonary doctors, having asthma, a PFT test should be done, but that's not the biggest issue. I have a history of pneumonia in my right lung along with other issues. The last time I saw PA Steiner, I was extremely sick with pneumonia and other issues. He did absolutely nothing for me. Didn't offer any medications, no advice, nothing. I fortunately decided to go to pulmonary at the VA. She immediately ran a boat load of blood tests, ordered a CT Scan and a PFT initially which after that one a more advanced one. So this is why I'm not recommending these guys.... The blood work came back showing issues, the CT of my lungs came back showing issues, I'm waiting for the second PFT. These guys are Intensive and Pulmonary and did absolutely nothing for me or made any attempt to diagnose me. Beware if you have serious pulmonary issues. I should not have to request or demand for them to do their job. I'll stick with the VA as these guys did not want to do anything to help me or earn my business or recommendation.
