We had an appointment today which it slipped my mind to take our son to see the Dr.He was to have a…read morebaby tooth pulled fillings and the dr said he needed a baby root canal.I called and talked to a staff member about the baby root canal and asked if the Dr would be putting him out and she said no he is not equipped for that so i looked it up online like every parent my husband and i discussed it and decided we would see someone else for that issue so today we get a call and she asked if we were on our way i said i forgot i was sorry should we reschedule she said how far away are you i said 10 to 15 minutes she said let me ask the dr she gets back on the phone and says the dr says if you can get here as soon as possible we were there in less than 15 i timed us im like that si i take our son in my husband waits in the Now last visit was cleaning i was told i could stand in the hall until our son was comfortable today im told because the dr is there im not aloud back with my son now thats fine if your son does not have juvenile o.c.d some sensory and behavior..so he was sick right away so i sit in the waiting room closest to the hall so i can hear if he needs me only one other family there before us so about 10 minutes in the other family leaves and the secretary turns music on and the hall door gets shut hmm ok about 5 minutes the dr comes to the door way and says "so im pulling the tooth and doing the fillings but not doing the juvenile root canal?" I said right.He says so I want to get this straight im not doing the root canal so his tpoth is going to rot and eventually effect his other tooth and get infected " now im in shock for a second because im like he never asked me if i had a good reason NEVER tried to explain the procedure just start being ignorant right out of the gait.So I try to get out what i want to say and that was my explanation and maybe him explaining it and he starts yelling about how he is the professional and he has done this for years but i must know more than he does and that i was late for my appointment well now i stand up and start yelling back about his secretary and me offering to reschedule and he tells me to go sit down or he wi call the cops i said go get my son your not touching him he stomps back i look at his staff and i said is he nuts i have never seen a dr like this in my life not one word came from their mouths i go outside and get my husband cause i dont know what this little nut is going to do next so in we go im thinking our son would be waiting no so i come in and i look at his staff and say i want my son he is not working on my son so here he comes to the end of the hall now my husband points his finger at him and says dont you ever talk to my wife the way you did again he looks at the receptionist and says call the cops our son is still not with us..i pull my mask down and start to say again where is my son because he was not to touch him he told me to put my mask on i refused because i was still yelling about my child being in the back he told his staff to call the cops because i would not put my mask up i said i will be putting this all over social media i never in my life had a dr experience like this he said go ahead put it on the internet i wish i had audio.i still have no idea what happen what set this man off.the secretary appologized for his behaviour i laughed i said hes crazy he is dangerous to snap like that was at 4 our son is still a mess i dont want to go into detail for our sons privacy but he was in a room with strangers listening to the dr scream at his perants down the hall and threaten to have them arrested the dr ran in and yanked his tooth anyway thats what took so long for them to bring him to us.we had no after care paper work for him ..Im still in shock as to what happened i feel like our son was put throygh somthing he definitely should not have and good luck to us getting him to go have anything done on his mouth..what a great Dr for kids huh? He needs a psychological exam and thats not a joke in no way shape or form ..Do not take your child here!!!!

These guys are awful. They tried to insist they couldn't email me my dental x-rays, even though I…read moreneed root canals and they don't perform them at this office. So they don't even get anything in trying to hold my x-rays hostage. As a bonus, they didn't even correctly diagnose my teeth. It'd be fine if it were a misunderstanding. But they were extremely combative about it. Repeatedly insisting that corporate has told them they can't do it, refusing to even discuss it, and telling me it would be a HIPAA violation. When, fun fact, it's actually a HIPAA violation to refuse to send me my own health records upon signed request. It took several days and having to argue with them several times, but I finally got them to give me the form to email me the x-rays. They still tried to get me to back down and say it'd take weeks to get the email. That I should just take some printed out copies when, obviously, that's not gonna help me for finding other dentists. I emailed them a copy of the form so it didn't get "lost" and letting them know I'd be reporting the HIPAA violations. What a surprise! I got the x-rays via email the very next day. Don't give these guys your business. If you unfortunately already have and they're trying this same, gross, extortionist tactic? The specific section of HIPAA you want is 164.524.

I asked if it was just a bad filling in need of replacement and he said "that won't help you" and walked out - didn't even look in my mouth! The office referred me to another office for a root canal. I decided to get a second opinion from another well established dentist. Found out I have zero need for a root canal - only some decay around an old filling! The x-ray photo I took with me from Aspen even identified the wrong tooth! This place is a joke and very unprofessional - do your self a favor and go to a real dentist office.

Steubenville Dental…read moreStudio is part of a massive 250-clinic corporate chain that treats patients like revenue sources rather than people. Dr. Cole Conboy takes absolutely no accountability for the chaos in his own clinic. My experience was a complete bait-and-switch. When I called to schedule a cleaning, I explicitly told them I had X-rays from six months ago. They said "no problem" but never asked me to have them sent over. When I arrived, the hygienist brought be to the x-ray room and told me I needed a Cone Beam CT scan and full mouth X-rays. I told him I only came in for a cleaning, but he said because I was a new patient I needed to do these. I am not opposed to X-rays when necessary, but I had just had them done and no one wants unnecessary radiation. When I voiced this, they dismissed me with comparisons like "it's the same as eating a banana" or "four hours on a plane." I felt backed into a corner. I realized that trying to get my old records sent over right then would mean cancelling the appointment I had been waiting for. I finally agreed to the new scans solely to ensure I could get my teeth cleaned that day. After realizing I had a molar tooth extraction 4 months prior, the male hygienist said he needed to do another full head scan. I pushed back again, but he said I couldn't move forward without it. Then came the most frustrating part. After exposing me to all that unnecessary radiation, he refused to clean my teeth, saying that I needed a deep clean and would have to schedule it and get approval from my insurance. I said I just wanted a normal cleaning and he claimed it would be "medical malpractice" to do a standard cleaning. After some back and forth the truth came out: because of my insurance, they never could have done a cleaning that day in the first place because the new X-rays had to be approved first, even for a regular cleaning. They knew this but brought me in anyway just to bill for redundant imaging. I asked to speak to the doctor and Dr. Conboy eventually came to the room. I told him about the misleading scheduling and he deflected all blame. He and his staff openly disparaged their own phone team, claiming they are "$10 an hour workers with crying babies in the background" that he has "no control" over. I said, listen, at least tell me you will try to fix this so it doesn't happen to another patient, and he said they are part of a 250 clinic practice and he has no control over the training for their telephone staff. This place is broken. Their Google Review rating looks high, but has tanked to a 3.3 average over the last 6 months for good reason - verified by GMB Everywhere which looks at Google Review History. Do your research and look at their BBB listing (https://www.bbb.org/us/oh/steubenville/profile/dentist/steubenville-dental-studio-0282-92032724) - full of one star reviews - and their Yelp page (https://www.yelp.com/biz/steubenville-dental-studio-steubenville) with 2.1 star. Don't let them waste your time and more importantly your health. It's frustrating to waste time of course, but it's also just sad when they seem to be part of a broken money-making system that they feel no incentive to align with service or health.
