Clearlake Veterinary Clinic - Her 1st piercing

    Clearlake Veterinary Clinic

We were vacationing from out of town when our dog Holly decided to grab some fish bait off one of…read morethe kids fishing poles and ended up with her first lip piercing. We contacted Clear Lake Vet clinic 10 min before they closed, this was not an emergency, we could see the hook in her lip and so they scheduled us in 1st thing the next morning. We saw Dr. Lambert, she was just awesome! We had a wonderful experience, we were treated well, our dog was treated well, the hook was removed and she was back to being a happy vacationing dog in a matter of hours. The billing was reasonable and fair, to be honest, far less than we had anticipated. Its not a vacation to Clear Lake unless someone has to go to urgent care, this was the first time it was one of our pet kids and not one of the human kids.

I'm new to Lake County so my regular Vet isn't here. I made an online appointment for my sick fur…read morebaby. I called to make sure that the appointment went through on their end. I was repeatedly put on hold for 25 minutes. When she came back on and tried to put me on hold for the umpteenth time I told her no I wasn't OK with being placed on hold yet again that she'd been putting me on hold repeatedly for 25 minutes and that I was trying to confirm my appointment for my sick dog. Instead of addressing my sick dog or confirming my appointment she decided to spend the time arguing with me about as she put it she had only been placing me repeatedly on hold for 21 minutes according to her. In the time she decided to spend arguing with me about how long she had been repeatedly putting me on hold she could have more than confirmed my sick dogs appointment. I needed a caring regular Vet in the area what I got was an uncaring argumentative person who likes leaving people on hold. I'd rather drive all the way to Penngrove to my dogs regular Vet that actually cares about pets and their owners than deal with this kind of crap. I saw the bad reviews this place has gotten from pet owners when I came to leave my review. I can understand why now and I didn't even make it there because of a rude uncaring individual who probably shouldn't be answering phones for anyone. Feel free to call me Clearlake Vet. (707) 758-2872. I actually love my dog and want him to have the best care possible not rude people who are more concerned with arguing with me about repeatedly putting me on hold for almost half an hour and could care less about confirming my appointment for my sick dog. UPDATE.. Why even respond to my review with someone from your office is going to reach out to me. Because I left this review 9 days ago with my phone number clearly on it and absolutely no one from your office bothered to call me to address this situation. You might as well not even bother to respond to people's bad reviews and call it a day...

I have been using VIP Petcare for a while now and most of the time, the employees were friendly and competent. This particular VIP Petcare from Windsor, CA was questionable. Perhaps I caught them on a wrong day but Dr. G. and his two assistants were so business-like they acted like they didn't like animals. First of all, Dr. G. wanted my dog to jump on the examining table but when my dog was reluctant because she was scared and would not do so, I had to carry and lift her on the table and she is not a small dog. Most vets I know would simply have taken the blood test on the floor. When Dr. G. failed twice to obtain blood from my pup's front leg, he decided to try on one of the hind legs and at which point I was asked to soothe my dog because of the assistant not knowing how to soothe an animal. Even the groomers I take my pup to are much more caring and soothing than his assistants. After I purchased a years supply of Sentinel, I asked for a written prescription. One of the male assistants who helped with my dog chimed in from across the room asking, "well, why would you need a prescription when you have to have your pet tested every year"? Too much of idiot to not come up and speak to me face-to-face. I didn't want to argue with the half-wit as I wanted to get out of there. His statement was bullsh*t because I was told by another veterinarian that it's not necessary to have your pet tested every year as long as the medication is given continually and consistently. These people simply want to monopolize on selling their products and services. Indifference toward animals, a veterinarian with a superior demeanor, employees devoid of a sense of humor, and one unprofessional employee with a crappy attitude = 1 out of 5 stars.

She appears to be the real deal. When our cats were old enough to be spayed/neutered, the staff provided transportation for the surgery to and from the vetinerian. There was no cost to us for the surgey Some of the animals Blythe takes in are at the end of the road- injured, disabled, recovering from trauma or illness. Most folks don't have the patience or time to save an animal in dire straits. It's admirable, to say the least. These Karens complaining about smelling pee or getting feelings hurt by staff are just being petty, trying to discredit these folks doing good work. Find something more productive to do. Blythe and crew are doing a tremendous job.

To anyone complaining or reading complain to here about smell or presentation, this is not a puppy farm or puppy mill this is a place in which animals are brought to be helped and saved. I read someone complaining about the smell, of course neglected dogs and cats who are being saved are going to have a smell. Here is a perfect example. I was speaking with Blythe and she tells me she's gonna have to call me back. I contact her the next day and find out that someone had randomly left five dogs somewhere while moving. She stopped everything she was doing to prioritize, saving those dogs so of course when she went to get them, it was not like she was picking them up from the groomers, but the exact opposite and yes they smelled obviously it's not her fault the dogs were left in that state, she did everything she could to get them healthy get their shots up to date and to make sure to find suitable homes. When I first read the negative review, I was skeptical and i was being very critical. Don't believe everything you read here keep in mind. There is a bunch of people trying to sell puppies vs save them.
