Don't use this company! We purchased a groupon for one lawn treatment at a discounted price. When I phoned to schedule I went over our property size at that time with the customer service rep and they came and did the treatment. That winter they contacted us by phone and we hired them to take care of our lawn that season. We seen very little difference at the end of the year. When it came time to renew I asked them why there was very little difference in our lawn she told me that despite the fact that after every visit their technicians told them they did not have enough treatment for our property size they never revised the amount of product to what was needed for effective weed control. The CS rep then told me that for our property size they were going to triple the cost of the previous year so I told her to cancel our service. That was months ago. They have called twice since to see if we wanted to renew and both times I told them no! This morning a Dr.Green tech showed up and was going to treat our lawn stating that Dr. Green works on an auto renewal basis. Thank goodness I was home to stop him today. I told him to please let the company know that I refused service due to my previous cancellation of service but I'm worried they will just keep showing up and billing me when I'm not home. Do not give this company your info. When I phoned to cancel for a 4th time all I get is someone taking numbers because supposedly they are to busy to take phone calls and big surprise, no one ever returns the call. read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible company. When they come knocking lock the door and hide. If you sign on they will relentlessly call you sell you more services. If you get tired of the calls from rude staff they will refuse to allow you to cancel their services. I had originally bought a groupon for fertilizing my lawn five times I also purchases aeration. Seemed like a good deal. first application was late by about 3 weeks. The aeration was 6 weeks late. After phoning them many times they said they could do it in the fall which defeats the purpose of a spring aeration to get water into the ground during the summer. Fertilizer was only applied three times. At the end of the year I cancelled the services. Now, even two years later they continually call me to collect their 45 dollars for the fertilizer application they put down after I had cancelled. Very bad company. Buyer Beware. read more

Totally disappointed in Dr Green. Used them for one season after promises they would provide a better package than my current lawn care provider at the time. Also recommended them to my neighbour to take advantage of the $50 referral credit which was never credited. They did not provide a better package and did not live up to expectations . We cancelled in the fall of the same year and so did our neighbour and both returned to our previous lawn care providers. Their accounting is terrible. After cancellation they showed up unannounced the following spring, did a spring application and sent an invoice which I refuse to pay. This invoice has been the subject of over 50 emails/phone calls with different people who don't seem talk to one another and don't on know what's going on. I would not recommend Dr Green. read more

I have signed up with Dr Green for a second season. We were selling our house and our lawn was not in very good shape. They did a fabulous job and we were sorry to sell when it came time. Our new house had no lawn and lots of weeds. Although they only started treating it in August, we saw a definite improvement by winter. I called them back quite a few times to the new house because the weeds were sooo bad and they said "no problem, we will keep coming out until they are gone". Our lawn had many dandelions and other weeds. After 1 season with Dr Green the lawn looks great! Dr Green returned to respray weeds when the 1st treatment did not kill them. I would highly recommend! read more

I would half to say its the wurst service I ever received I think im groing more weeds then what I started with they tell you thell fix it and then dont show up for weeks I signed up in july 2013 they showed up twice and now its end of september absolute crap if you ask me never again what a bad tast in your mouth against any other lawn service companies then they have the nerves to tell that you prepaid so your stuck with there crapy service they should be shut down what can somebody do about these scam artist . read more

I decided to try Dr Green this year despite all the negative reviews from my neighbors. I've always fertilized my own lawn and probably have one of the nicest looking in the entire neighborhood. Not this year. My lawn has had a yellow, dry look to it all season, no matter how much I water and I water plenty. The dandelions were the worst I've ever seen on this lawn and many are still there! I believe Dr Green uses an inferior product and will never use or recommend them again. I'm back to using Scott's next year and look forward to a perfect lawn again for a 1/4 of the price. Folks don't be lazy, it's very simple and cheap, fertilize your own lawns and put these people out of business! read more

I wish I could give Dr. Green Services Inc. Calgary a zero because I feel 1 is far too generous. I often rely on reviews for services but this review is a first written from me. I think consumers should be forewarned of the "additional" services Dr. Green provides: - relentlessly call to solicit services but DO NOT take the time to look into customer concerns. - you sign up for one service (i.e., power rake) and they give you all services (i.e., fertilization, power rake, aeration). - REFUSE to cancel your account before services you may, or may not, have agreed to, have been completed. - DO NOT honour telephone cancelation or have any evidence that this call was even placed - not only do they NOT honour cancelation but if you happen to move and they continue to provide services to a residence you no longer reside at, from an account that was canceled, from a customer who specified "I am calling you to formally let you know that I refuse to participate in your automatic renewal for next season and if you choose to provide services it is at your cost" you will receive an invoice for services provide. - DON"T forget once they service your previous residence you CANNOT cancel your account until the balance is paid in full AND don't be fooled into thinking that because you called to request they stop services, cancel your customer account, or ask for a letter indicating your formal cancelation of services that you won't be supplied with a new invoice for services. read more

Don't ever consider them as a viable weed control company! Last year I had more weeds than ever. They automatically renew my service without me knowing. They kept calling me and I advised them that I didn't want their service as I had more weeds than before. But they don't talk to each other as you've got to call their customer service dept to cancel their service. Is this a positive customer service experience? I had Greendrop already come out several days before Dr. Green said that they came out while my Greendrop sign was on our lawn and I got invoiced for Dr. Green's services as I was out of town when this happened. I will never endorse Dr. Green and you shouldn't either. read more

When we moved into our new house I was unsure who to chose to take care of our lawn. I was impressed with the Dr. Green sales person and immediately felt assured my lawn would improve my lawn. We are very pleased with Dr Green Services and have noticed continual improvement in our lawn each year. I would definitely recommend Dr Green if you want to see a difference in your lawn over a few years of servicing. In our second year our lawn looked very good but by the third year our lawn looked great. We are looking forward to continued servicing with Dr Green to keep our lawn looking great year after year. Zero stars. I contacted Dr. green in May of 2017 to use them for my yard care. I paid for the full season up front and in good faith, expecting that hey would be a good company. Wrong! They have come a total of 2 times since then and it is now July 18th.The first time they came a service was done the second time the service technician simply walked to my front door left a door hanger with a service bill in it and performed no services. I know this because we have video surveillance and that is all he did. When I contacted them about the situation I was put off for over a week when I again contacted them, once again nothing for over 24 hours. I then went straight to wanting my money back and was told too bad. Even though they were absolutely in breach of contract. I have since launched a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to get my money back. I even said to deduct the cost of the original service since it was done trying to be somewhat reasonable in an otherwise very shady situation and was still denied. These guys are as crooked as a dog's hind leg and to save yourself the headache I am now going through, keep scrolling when looking for lawn care. read more

I ordered power raking and aeration services and was told they would be out in a week. They never showed up. I called the rep twice and he never returned my calls. Finally I called the head office and they put a rush on my service. After over three weeks and no service I called again to cancel my services. I was told I could not cancel even though they had not provided the service, but I insisted and they said they would cancel my services anyway. At the end of the month my MasterCard had been charged $366 by Dr Green Services. I called them to reverse the charges, but they said they do not offer refunds. What??? This was after I had someone else come out to power rake my lawn, because they obviously had no time. How can I be charged for a service that was never provided in the fist place? I finally had to call MasterCard to reverse the charges. BUYER BEWARE! I'm only giving them one star because I can't give them a ZERO. read more

Last summer 2013 we have signed up for the lawn treatment, and provided the company with 3 post-dated cheques. We have made a note this service was only required for that season. At the end of the season I did try to call Dr. Green Services to cancel the service for the next year, but it was extremely hard to get someone on the phone. I've finally succeeded in reaching someone in February, and just advised we wanted to discontinue their services. I had no idea I was supposed to require a confirmation number for this cancellation notice! This spring of 2014, their company rep called us to advise they were scheduling some services in our area and wanted to book it for us, too. I advised we were not interested to continue this service and the guy agreed. There were also other door-to-door representatives a couple of weeks later that tried to sign me up, but I've reiterated we did not want to. So, in May 2014 I came home to discover a bill hanging on my door handle for some service completed on our lawn. This is weird, as the company used to notify me beforehand to advise of the upcoming service. Well, not this time, since if I had received it I would've contacted them to stop it. So, I called the company immediately telling them the whole story of my attempts to stop the services with Dr. Green, and the representative on the line said they had no record of my calls to them, and also "was surprised" I had not been notified of the service. I have also mentioned to the representative that I would not pay for this bill as I simply had no budget to pay for the bill, as I was staying home on a mat.leave, our earnings have dropped, and literally I was struggling to feed my kids, and that was the whole reason why I didn't want the lawn care for this season. The rep seemed to be convinced, and she even provided me with the cancellation confirmation number. Since then I had to have phone conversations two more times with different customer service representatives where I had to repeat all the story over and over again. They all seemed to be satisfied with it, and I have not heard from the company for a while, till I received a statement in my mailbox, which not only included the "outstanding" amount but also interest on it for non-payment. They have as well sent the same statement to my e-mail. This is just a very sneaky and dirty way of conducting business, Dr. Green! Really, I had much more things to do rather than wasting my time on the phone trying to get someone or cancelling the service. Why did I even bother to do that since nobody listens, and when I think everything is settled you attack me with even higher amounts to be paid? read more

Horrible experience with Dr. Green. We hired them last year to help us get rid of the weeds on our lawn. The weeds got better. I called to pay my last bill last fall I advised them I will not be needing any services during the fall, winter or next year and that I would like to cancel and will call them if I would like to restart the services. They tried very hard to convince me not to do that but I stuck with my decision. Then in the spring April or May a gentleman rang the doorbell and said he was from Dr. Green and asked that I open the gate( Which is always locked with a lock from the inside, there is no way to get in without a key). I kindly advised him that I cancelled their services last fall and we will not be requiring it this year. He apologized and left. About 3 weeks later I found a bill at my front door. It stated that were out that day and the charges were for just over $200. My Gate was locked! So how were they able to preform the service they claimed they did plus I cancelled them twice once via phone call last fall and I also asked the gentlemen who came earlier not to return. I called Dr. Green to advise of the misunderstanding. Their reply was that I needed to prove that I cancelled their services. How can I prove that? I don't record my telephone conversations. I can prove I made a call to them at the same time I paid my last bill but thats not good enough for them because their " records do not indicate that the service was cancelled". They advised over the phone that all the harassing phone calls will continue and they have been calling pretty much on a daily basis even tho I answered the phone a few time and advised them of the situation and told them since I cancelled and they did not preform any service at my house for over 200 dollars I will not pay. They continue sending emails with invoices continuously as well. So if anyone is considering to hire Dr. Green check the BBB website they have many complaints for the same problem. They do an ok job, but be prepared if you will ever try to cancel they will not make a note of it and continue harassing you for mont possibly years. read more

This company is nothing but fraudulent and a rip off. When they came to my door I was happy because I was looking for a lawn service. I paid the whole season up front on the spot and kept getting bills saying I owed. I would call and tell them I paid in full and it was just such a hassle. At the end of my term they called and asked if I was interested in the next season special, to which I replied I didn't want the service anymore as I was moving and my new house has no lawn. (May 2014). They went out to my old house anyways and applied 2 applications of something? I have been billed for that, even tho I cancelled. They said because I didn't actually call and cancel before the renewal "automatically comes up", I have to pay, to which I replied, "No, I don't! You went ahead and applied after I told you I was moving and not interested in another season and it's none of my concern. Put it to collections or whatever you have to do, I am not paying it and have an A1 Credit rating!". They call daily (a different person) trying to collect to which I reply, "Quit calling me and send it to collections". As mentioned, my credit rating is A1, so I am not concerned. Be ware of this company. They also put flags on your lawn and say they were there and you look at your lawn and there is nothing done! AVOID at all costs. read more

I made the mistake of acquiring this companies services last summer due to a door to door salesman with a good pitch. Immediately after I read reviews on them and soon learnt that a lot of the reviews were negative mostly regarding if you ever need to cancel the service. In about mid winter I decided that I didn't wanna continue service so emailed them to cancel on the website using the 1 of 2 only ways of cancellation their website says. About 2 weeks ago I look out my window to find one of their guys out fertilizing my lawn, I explained to him that I had cancelled services months prior, he said I was the 7th person that day to have the same issue. He assured me, I wouldn't be charged and he would have my account cancelled. Today I get an email from them telling me that weather permitting they will be out in 2 business days to perform my next scheduled maintenance. This time I called customer service, where the lady on the other line really didn't wanna hear what I had to say, just wanted to offer me full services again for $259. This lady has now assured me the account is cancelled, I won't be charged and no one will be here in 2 days. I'll believe that when I don't see it. As for the service, they are here and gone in about 2 mins, they sprayed more fertilizer on my sidewalk,deck and rocked side yard than they did my actual grass. This is a garbage company with garbage service and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more
