My 70-something year old mother goes to see another doctor at this arthritis and rheumatic care…read morecenter so she suggested that I go there as well since I, like my mother, have joint pain. Despite only being in my 50s, I have joint pain in my hands, feet, ankles, hips and back particularly when the weather is wet, humid and damp where it is hot or cold. When I called three months ago, I was given an appointment with Dr. Jaime Pachon. I noticed that since I moved to Miami with my son, I have to make medical appointments months to a year in advance due to the high demand for services by a growing population due to the influx of arrivals of people since the COVID pandemic, both from other parts of the USA and from neighboring countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, and the scarcity of doctors and other medical and dental providers. Apparently, this particular center is very well-known and popular! When I arrived, the waiting room was packed mostly with elderly people including those with walkers, walking sticks and wheelchairs plus a couple of middle-aged people like myself. Nobody seemed to mind that they had to wait a long time to see their respective doctors and they all appeared to be regular patients who were used to the wait. I had to fill out very lengthy and detailed forms with the medical history of my parents, siblings as well as my own medical history and answer questions about where I felt pain and how bad the pain was. From my arrival and check-in including filling out those medical forms which were as intense as completing job applications until I saw the doctor and completed my medical office visit including having x-rays and going over the x-rays and getting prescribed pain-relief medication as well as being referred for physical therapy, I spent 2 hours and 15 minutes in that office. Dr. Pachon is a very knowledgeable doctor. He asked me who referred me, who my primary care physician was and why I thought I needed treatment at an arthritis and rheumatic care center. He also read the detailed forms I had filled out. Subsequently, he sent me for x-rays/bone and joint scans by a radiologist in his office. Then he examined the x-rays/scans and pointed out the places where he noticed I had osteoarthritis. Thereafter, Dr. Pachon gave me a prescription for a medication to take only as needed when I have extreme pain from arthritis. He also recommended that I go to see a physical therapist and gave me a prescription for physical therapy. I am to return to see him in 6 months. Meanwhile, when I start doing the recommended physical therapy, I should remind the physical therapist to send regular progress reports to him to keep him informed of how I am doing with my arthritis and related pain management. He was very thorough and I appreciate that. His office staff was also friendly, especially, the radiologist, and the man who checked me out and gave me the aforementioned prescriptions, Juan.

Dr. Raben has been my primary doctor for awhile now, and part of the reason I chose her is that she has Saturday hours for established patients without an extra fee as long as you have an appointment. Regular copayment is always better than an urgent care center copayment! She has a lab, x-ray & ultrasound machines in her office, which make it more efficient whether getting a routine physical or a diagnosis when you're sick. In addition to treatment, she also offers some nutrition related medicine such as the vitamin IV's, which I'm a believer in. Dr. Raben's also offered phone consults before it was trendy. Her staff is friendly and helpful in getting your appointments. Heads up, Dr. Raben is direct. Besides still keeping paper record like the old day her bedside manner is to the point and lets you know what you (and yours truly) sometimes might not want to hear about your habits and health. That's sometimes needed!

She asked if I had "any other concerns" and before I could finish my "well yes.." she was showing herself the door. Also, the complaints about the incredibly rude and inattentive staff, are totally accurate. With that said- I had a wonderful young nurse who was kind and listened to me. That's the only reason I'm giving a 2 and not a 1.

Zuri Filed a Defamation Lawsuit Against Me After My Negative Review…read more  I underwent a mommy makeover procedure at Zuri's practice. Afterward, I posted a review describing my personal experience and dissatisfaction with my results. After that review was posted, Zuri and his practice filed a defamation lawsuit against me. In my view, this is an attempt to silence me and discourage me from sharing my experience .   The photos I have posted show my actual post-procedure results for the abdominalplasty portion. My statements are based entirely on my firsthand experience and honest opinions, and I stand by my right to share them.

The doctor is well respected in his field and was recommended to me when this thing was diagnosed in Los Angeles. One of the well know neurosurgeons at the House Ear Institute said, "See him if you want a proper job done." Dr. Wolf uses The Gamma Knife, at his state of the art facility, which is used to treat brain tumors by administering high-intensity cobalt radiation therapy in a manner that concentrates the radiation over a small volume. A Gamma Knife typically contains 201 cobalt-60 sources of approximately 30 curies, each placed in a circular array in a heavily shielded assembly. The device aims gamma radiation through a target point in the patient's brain. The patient wears a specialized helmet that is surgically fixed to the skull, so that the brain tumor remains stationary at the target point of the gamma rays. An ablative dose of radiation is thereby sent through the tumor in one treatment session, while surrounding brain tissues are spared. Gamma Knife therapy, like all radiosurgery, uses doses of radiation to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors, delivered precisely to avoid damaging healthy brain tissue. Gamma Knife radiosurgery is able to accurately focus many beams of gamma radiation to converge on one or more tumors. Each individual beam is of relatively low intensity, so the radiation has little effect on intervening brain tissue and is concentrated only at the tumor itself. Gamma Knife radiosurgery has proven effective for patients with benign or malignant brain tumors up to 4 centimeters in size, vascular malformations such as an arteriovenous malformation (AVM), pain or other functional problems. For treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, the procedure may be used repeatedly on patients. After my treatment I recovered immediately and have progressed from a guy walking along a sidewalk and bumping into telephone poles to a tennis playing guy who never wavers. In a jiffy he cured the bloody thing. I get an MRI once a year and return for a read. Wolf is a Yale Medical School grad and that counts for a lot in my book. I once visited Yale Medical in order to deliver a check from my father's charitable foundation and was very impressed. The dean was a charmer and convinced me that the money would be spent as we had directed. (I think it's the best medical school in the country.) Their office is so pleasant and the decor is soothing. The parking is easy with a big lot directly in front. A walk of a few feet takes one to an elevator (The building has only two floors.) which opens directly in front of their door. It is nice to go to a treatment center and not have to walk a mile (UofM comes to mind.) and constantly ask directions. There was some good design and thought put into this location. After I completed my consultation, I chatted with some the friendly staff who informed me that on my next visit I can have my MRI on the first floor and then immediately be wisked to Dr. Wolf on the second; now that is convenient. Anyway, kudos for Dr. Wolf and his VERY snappy staff who are always spot on and make my visit smooth as silk. For my money the only thing lacking here is an enlarged center with more doctors whose specialty field might be brain oncology and others whit specialities as Dr. Wolf determines necessary. I was connected with a charitable foundation that gave mostly to medical and I think that with the right kind of foundation behind him Dr. Wolf could develop a major neuroscience center in Miami with world wide reputation. Dr. Wolf's center could be be a center of excellence in neuroscience and oncology that would work with new cancer treatments and he might partner with leading academic institutions around the country. It is not a very big jump when you have the talent and foresight that is his.
