During the procedure she gave me no preparation that she would be dilating my cervix, but proceeded with a device that forces it open anyway. I was screaming in pain and asked several times was my IUD stuck or lodged? She repeatedly said no it wasn't and that my cervix was just tight. The pain was indescribable, and yet she insisted that it wasn't stuck. There were 2 others in the room with her and they were just as cold and insensitive. I asked her to stop because of the pain, and she sated they would just wait until I was ready. I told her I wouldn't be ready to go through this pain again. It was overwhelmingly unsettling that neither she, nor the other 2 nurses who were with her showed any type of concern or compassion for the excruciating pain I was in. She continued to say it wasn't stuck and told me to talk to my primary, and come back Monday so she could put me to sleep, and then remove it. No thank you! I instead found new doctors from a different health group who are kind, compassionate, caring and were able to explain. They also explained any and all health procedures that were going to perform during their examining me. My new doctors told me immediately that the IUD was indeed jammed in my cervix, and as a result I had to have a DNC so it could be removed. This was the 2nd dnc, in less than a year, that I had to have as a result of procedures gone wrong by SSM gynecologists. My experience with SSM gynecologists have been very traumatizing and very disappointing. It is a scary thing to feel like your life is on the line while in a doctor's care.

She delivered my son then pulled on the umbilical cord and caused my placenta to break apart into pieces and she manually ripped the rest of it out with her hand. You heard me. She reached elbow deep and ripped an organ out of my uterus because she decided that she couldn't wait a few extra moments for me to push the placenta out and completely ignored my request to do delayed cord clamping. My son suffered from jaundice afterwards which the cord clamping could've helped prevent. On top of her circumcising my son even though he had a buried penis and didn't inform me of that until after the surgery! My second pregnancy with her I was experiencing issues with seeing spots in my vision and dizziness and she told me that it was nearly the end of my pregnancy and that if it continued for a week to go to a cardiologist. My induction with her was scheduled and she was still late and they attempted to tell me to wait to push out my child who was crowning because she was late. I was also not informed about the broken collar bone she had from them attempting to push her head back in my birth canal waiting for this doctor. I have just recently been educated on how what she did was completely abusive behavior from an OBGYN and I would never have my daughter go anywhere near an OBGYN like this with a 6 ft pole

EVERYONE else in the office is terrible. My daughter has since been sent to Children's. If you are a mother you know there is a certain finesse that is appreciated when you are dealing with a child and a health condition. DO NOT TAKE YOUE CHILD HERE!!! We waited over an hour to see the Dr, just enough time to get my daughter good and terrified. Everyone is very short and snippy and has a resting nasty disposition, no smiles or comfort from anyone. The lab tech barely spoke to my daughter at all, and fished for a vein for about 5 minutes, I come from a family in healthcare and this is barbaric!! When we were called for the results she tried to throw some medical terms at me, and not even tell me what they meant, and was so rude. A nurse is not a Dr. but I have been dealing with the nurses at Northwest Pediatrics for 12 years and they all have a firm grasp on their field, and are able to explain things. Having her records released to Children's Hospital was in itself unpleasant. Everyone I spoke to acted like I was really putting them out and bothering them. This emotional time for my daughter and I has been made even more unpleasant than it had to be. We have great insurance and Health providers should help patients during tough times, especially children. Once again, Dr. Sammons was wonderful. However, everyone knows it takes much more than just the Dr to make an office. My daughter made me promise I would never make her go back when we left. The only reason I am posting this is to maybe save another young girl from this experience. This is a big time for a young girl in general, and even more so when there are issues. I so wanted it to be a safe and compassionate office I took her to, and for the medical staff to be guides through this. And now I have to know I completely let her down. And she will forever have the memory that her first visit to her female Dr was horrific which is not what a mother wants for her daughter. I cant change what my daughter went through, but perhaps I can save another young girl from the same. Being a good mother is EVERYTHING to me! And a gynecologist is a very intimate place, and should make a girl young or old feel safe and like the people working there care. I genuinely feel like I ruined this experience for my child, and pray I can make up for it.

WARNING: My…read moreexperience with Krista the ultrasound tech was horrendous. Her bedside manner is lacking in tremendous ways. Unfriendly, non personal, & unethical. I only know her name because I requested my chart. She never even introduced herself prior to performing the invasive ultrasound. Krista told me she could not find an embryo nor a heartbeat during my very first ultrasound on May 13, 2024 that she performed for less than 2 minutes total. It was so rushed & not thorough I was shocked, left visibly confused & concerned. I was immediately sent to wait in another small, closed off room for over an hour with zero communication as to what Krista had just blurted out (legally not supposed to share that type of information as it is the doctor's job) so thoughtlessly for Emily Sammons to arrive from her "rounds at another building," 38 minutes tardy for my first appointment with this practice. Being my first pregnancy this was appalling. If you know you're going to have responsibilities in another location prior to your Monday duties don't schedule early morning appointments or account for the time it requires to complete those tasks. I was in literal tears & emotional agony the entire time waiting with my fiancé listening as countless other patients were shuffled past our door. Terrible treatment; Like herded animals for comparison. Our time inside HWH building has been so unpleasant as we were treated with less than professionalism. This poor treatment has resulted in a life altering experience in a negative way. I made our grievances clear in a calm & collected manner to Dr. Sammons & she stated in response, "that's what you took away?" It left me in a state of disgust & shock in that moment. Her dismissive laughter during our visit was so out of line considering the miserably emotionally taxing circumstances. I did not appreciate it whatsoever & my finance was furious she responded in that way. It was truly perplexing & still riddles us with anger. My partner & I have felt disregarded & brushed off since entering this medical facility the first time. I have let my referring doctor's office & others know about how HWH has made us feel as a first time pregnant couple. I NEVER want another woman nor man to feel the pain & lack of compassion we felt from this team of medical personnel. Unhappy on max levels with this practice for valid reasons other than the actual miscarriage. Kate Dunphy-Clark

The time management and scheduling is horrible. I drove an hour each way to see my doctor and waited for 45 minutes in the office only for them to tell me that it was going to be another hour before I could see the doctor. So I walked out. This has happened multiple times, I've been stuck in the room before after being checked in as well and can literally hear the doctors "chitchatting" for long periods of time. The doctors are great and so are the staff, but they really need to figure this out as it has a domino effect. I noticed other people waiting for really long times as well. My advice would be to either make room between scheduling your patients or tell your patients upfront that you only have a certain amount of time before your next appointment. You could also have the courtesy of calling the patient before they arrive and let them know that the doctor is behind two hours.
