However, they do close at 9:00 p.m: normally but they will extend the closing time if there are delayed flights and this is what we experienced. There is a main bar and a speakeasy type smaller bar that I prefer to go to. The shower rooms are excellent and very clean and are maintained very well. So enjoy the food, the drinks, the wait (you won't mind waiting for your flight). Thank you to Charlie B. For coming out and greeting us on this visit!! FYI, the Polaris at EWR is just as equally nice. But that's another review. :)

Amazing job United! This place really needed an upgrade and I'm glad the mothership hub finally got…read moreit! Holy guacamoleeeeee! About frickin time! We absolutely love the decor..much more high end, classy, and timeless. We love the leather chairs and lounge areas. The addition of the new bar is a plus. Looks like I'm going into a high end bar or restaurant. The dining room looks 100x better than that outdated looking one prior! The wood and shelvings really makes this lounge so sleek. American Express and Capital one lounges finally have some competition! I love how spacious this place is and not crowded! Bathrooms and showers here never disappoint! We love the vibes here. Completely better with all these remodel! Food- 10/10 upgrade!!! The food here makes United Polaris SFO look embarrassing. I recall eating off of paper plates last year at the SFO Polaris lounge which was depressing. The dining room looks like it can accommodate more people than before and it looks so much more classier. We got the Polaris burger, potato soup, shrimp fritter, arancini. Here what I rate them below: Shrimp fritter- 8/10. Yum! Love the presentation. Fritter was perfect. Shrimp pieces were present. Potato soup-8/10 light and refreshing. Need a bit salt. Polaris burger-10/10 short rib burger. Must try here. I could have ate 3 of these. Fries need to just be like normal fries...3 rectangle potatoes didn't mash well with the amazing burger. Like just get normal skinny frites or Curley fries. arancini- 10/10. Perfect. Not too heavy! Cookie skillet- 10/10. Don't get anything else. Strawberry tart- 4/10- the tart was too hard. Need a softer base. Bundt cake- 11/10. Thank you chef for your mom's recipe. Best Bundt cake to mark 100 years. They also had a holiday special for Easter which I never seen in a lounge. They had someone carve lamb and served veggies & potatoes! Yummmm. Lamb was tender but bit dry. Still good. Mash potatoes were perfect. I love how there was a staff passing out drinks and mini pastries. Overall, completely different lounge! Service is top notch here. Michael took good care of us at the dining room. Food came out pretty fast. Happy 100th anniversary United Airlines! We are forever loyal to you if you keep this up.

Inside the A Loft hotel lobby, this lobby bar is lacking in service…read more I arrived in the EMPTY bar & sat at a table near the bar. The Hispanic bartender was writing on some papers. He looked up at me, made eye contact & went back to writing. He continued writing (I took this as a challenge & started timing his ignorance). After 10 minutes of patiently waiting for him to come ask if I'd like a drink or food menu, I went up to the bar and asked if he could help me. He asked "what do you want?" "I'm thinking of a drink, since this is a bar, and maybe something to eat if you have a menu." A Woodford old fashioned was $20 - this location doesn't warrant Las Vegas pricing. Service sucks - night 2 was a replay. I watched 2 other groups of customers sit at a table, were ignored and then have to walk up to the bar to order and fetch their drinks.

While wxyz bar is a cool, contemporary place, I may have to go back and re- review it on a…read moredifferent night. Why do you ask? Well, on the night I was there there was a celebration of "La Quinceanera". What is that, you ask? Ahh, glad you asked as I had to also. La Quinceanera is basically a "coming out" party for a 15 year old girl celebrating in the traditional Mexican way. That would certainly explain all the young people (and I mean young!) sipping soda around the bar all dressed up in their finest. I thought I had walked into the middle of a high school dance. For the few of us at the bar who were over the age of 15, I think the bartenders were relieved to be making real drinks as I think the onslaught of "kiddie cocktails" took them all by surprise! Don't get me wrong. WXYZ bar located on the lobby level of the Loft hotel is a contemporary adult space. There are modern couches and chairs clustered around the fireplace as well as a full sized pool table in the one corner. The small bar located at one end has a light "show" that is constantly changing that I found more distracting than engaging. My favorite thing were the bar napkins that had word search puzzles on them- perfect if you are sitting by yourself. This area opens up to an outdoor pool, so I can only bet how lively and fun this area could be in the Summer months. A downside? The parking situation here is a bit of a maze. They block off the few parking spots in front of the hotel for the hotel van and expect you to park in the large parking garage shared with the Muvico theater. All fine and good except the parking garage is expensive (don't forget to get your ticket validated) and it's a bit of a walk if you end up in the wrong section. Follow the signs to "general parking" and park as far south as you can and you should be okay. If you go the wrong way- you will have to circle past the hotel and try the whole parking thing again. Not a bad spot if you just want to grab a drink while waiting for someone's plane to come in at O'Hare or to grab a drink after a movie at Muvico. And hopefully on the night you go- the average age will not hover in those awkward teenage years!
