I woke up Saturday with the most intense stabbing pain in my left ribs. Couldn't move all weekend - hurt to breathe and coughing and or sneezing was something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy! So I went to Dr. Schlute today, and I have to say I am pain free for the first time in 20 years. I've been in two accidents, one at the age of 12, the second was when I was 25. Here's a bio of the great Dr Dave! Dr. Schlute was born and raised in Colorado where he competed in several sports, and was honored with several awards both in high school and college. He continues to be an avid cyclist, runner, weight lifter, and triathlete. After completing his B.S. degree in Exercise Science and finishing Massage Therapy school, Dr. Schlute was training for a half-Ironman competition and developed three disc herniations in his low back from overtraining. Standard medical care didn't work, and Chiropractic was the only thing that offered any pain relief. In only 2 short weeks he was 100% out of pain and competing again. It was then that Dr. Schlute decided to become a sports medicine Chiropractor to help others with similar conditions. Dr. Schlute has the rare combination of a degree in Exercise Science, Certified Massage Therapist, and licensed Chiropractor, combined with certifications in Kinesiotape and numerous soft tissue methods. I was referred to Dr. Dave by my husbands personal trainer who is located across the street from him on Broadway in the Belmont Heights neighborhood. I have been getting adjustments during my pregnancy, but the chiropractor I was previously seeing was having trouble getting my hips to cooperate . I went to Dr. Schulte today and got (hopefully) my last adjustment before baby comes. This guy has magic hands! I have been to many Chiropractors over the years and Dr. Schlute is by far the best. He determines where the pain is coming from and does his adjustments accordingly. He also doesn't just make adjustments. Since he is a massage therapist as well, he does deep tissue work when needed. He has helped me with chronic back and knee pain, so much so that I have been able to exercise again. He has also used treatments that have broken up scar tissue in my knee, which has given me full range of motion, which physical therapy could not do. He is incredibly kind and compassionate. I found Dr David from Youtube because I was so fed up with chiropractors who didn't know how to adjust that I wanted to find one who actually demonstrated their skills in video. I think Dr David is the best chiropractor you'll find. He is willing to work with you to find a tailored solution to your health and spinal needs. Because everyone is different. But most importantly he knows how to adjust. Most chiropractors do not know how to get joints and bones to move. They just pretend they adjusted you or do not know how to fully move joints. Some treat people like an assembly line and give everyone the exact same adjustment, which most of the time doesn't really work. Dr David knows how to adjust the neck, back, extremities, ankles, shoulders, you name it and he'll find the right technique to get things aligned and you feeling good again. Don't go to some wannabe chiropractor who charges you a ton of money for an initial consultation, x-ray, puts you on some expensive payment plan and overall puts you on a run-around while he or she is not moving any joints but says they are. You know what I am talking about. Bad neck, bad back, bad posture, poor health? Dr David will get you back on track and feeling 100%. I had been having pain in my left hip that my primary doctor could not identify. X-rays, exams, another chiropractor and nothing helped. The worst part about it was that I couldn't sleep. Every time I moved my hips I would wake up in pain. I went to a health fair and had a complementary massage by Dr. Schlute. I was telling him about my hip pain and he was giving me explanations on why based on my current back/joint alignment. With the new information I felt hopeful he might be able to help me. I scheduled an appointment and walked me through everything he did. Not only did he align things, but he stretched me and continued to adjust until things were where they needed to be. I've been seeing Dave off and on since 2011. I'm probably one of his most successful (long periods of pain-free) but difficult patients to unravel when I get locked up which happens about once a year. My muscularity is both a blessing and a curse for me when I get stressed and/or imbalanced and it therefore requires not any run of the mill Chiropractor to get me right.
