One word: Superb…read more I'm not one to be easily impressed. So when I say I found Dr. Kim's approach to be thorough and impressive--that statement Carrie's tremendous weight. She's a brilliant individual and physician, and I thank the heavens for her! She's a truly exceptional physician in several ways. To begin with, her reassuring bedside manner is imbued with the kind of warmth, natural ease and calm confidence you would hope all physicians were made of, but rarely are. She makes it incredibly easy to discuss matters with her, and at no point in the appointment did I detect the doctor-patient power differential. It was a very healthy communicative dynamic where I felt completely at ease, heard, seen, understood, acknowledged and validated. She genuinely wanted to understand my experience and the struggles that ail me. She assumed nothing and listened with great care and attention, asking all the pertinent questions. She didn't miss a beat, not a single one. She's exceptionally bright, insightful and possesses a diagnostic prowess that is uncanny. She took the time to properly assess my current ongoing issues, and as equally and thoroughly went over my medical history, labs and other diagnostics, and delved into my childhood ails. Suffering from a series of complex health issues turned chronic, that none of the many top-notch doctors I had seen prior to her even came close to addressing; she, however, was able to give me the sense of clarity and empowerment I needed. She was able to inform me as to what the actual underlying issues, concerns and future implications were, how they were addressable and can be overcome, and presented me with clear options for treatment approaches for best outcomes, and explained here's why. She reintroduced peace and ease to my mind, heart and body. She even held space for me to be able to express my very real, well-founded fears and frustration, and took the time to address them with immense sensitivity and subtlety in her verbal and non-verbal language, and succeeded in putting those fears to rest, whilst rendering me with the courage to face what is to come with resilience, and an a positive attitude and outlook. She's truly inspirational. I felt an immense admiration and respect for her ability in being able to cultivate that response and courage within me. Most physicians miserably fail in this area. She excelled. The finesse in her emotional intelligence and agility makes most others physicians look like emotionally-dense amateurs. Her integrative, holistic approach came as a huge relief because it meant she was examining everything through multiple lenses to gain a well-rounded perspective for an effective, life-affirming cure. She openly discusses her thought process and the modalities she's employing in her assessment and treatment approach with you, so you're in the know. This enables you to begin developing an understanding of your bioindividual health dynamics. Her approach addressed me in my entirety as a whole person--my physical, mental, and emotional health, and psychosocial, energetics and spirit-affirming well-being, that honored me being authentic and true to who I am. By the end of the session she had throughly explained to me the likely root causes of the disease processes and manifestations, and what led to compromising my gut, digestion, metabolism, immune system etc. and where I am currently within the trajectory of my chronic disease manifestations. I felt the burden and disappointment I had been carrying around from being failed by prior medical approaches prior to meeting her almost completely lift off my shoulders by the end of the appointment with her, and left feeling I could finally take a deep breathe with ease again, as the stress and tension my body had been carrying around began to release and dissipate. I finally felt I'm in the right hands, receiving the right care and the right solutions were underway. My inner knowing was that I'm on my way to regaining my health, vitality and functionality, and with that, finally being able to reclaim my life and joy in a very real way. I left feeling empowered, grateful and hopeful. Above all, it was the most validating experience a person struggling with chronic illnesses can receive. Thank you Dr. Kim! You're a Rockstar! P.S. I've been in communication with Dr. Kim and with her front desk, Meredith, with follow up questions and received prompt responses from both. Dr. Kim offered further effective solutions to address and ease my suffering.

I have been taking my little one to her since 4 months old. We went to her because we did not feel comfortable with vaccinating our baby at such young age. She explained to us her vaccine plan and told us that she would support us no matter what we choose for our baby (vaccinate or not). In addition to prescribing medicine, she also has knowledge about alternative remedies that when used correctly have worked for us. I am also personally seeing her for my Hashimoto's. I have been able to reduce my antibodies significantly since seeing her. I also like that she offers alternative lab testing which allows you to see a more holistic view of your body's status. The lab work that she recommends (but does not force on her patients because of the cost) looks at the levels of various minerals and vitamins that most conventional doctors do not check. However, those are vital to check at least once a year to gain some assurance that your body is in balance and there won't be any issues down the road. CONS: I have noticed that she is not very clear on how some of the remedies should be used. Often times I've had to look them up myself and do some personal research. It was a bit frustrating at the beginning but I was still happy because she gave me options and through my own research, asking her questions via e-mail (she is very responsive), I am able to make my own informed decision on how to treat my baby's illness at the time.

Wrong description of my condition, wrong Billing Code, vague language that would mean it wouldn't be covered by insurance. When she gave it to me, I suggested it was incomplete. She laughed, snidely saying I was wrong. Another time, I mentioned nasal congestion, sinus congestion and difficulty breathing, suggesting aspirin might be the cause. She said this was impossible. She is dead wrong. It is widely known that aspirin can cause these symptoms. It's embarrassing and disturbing that she doesn't know this. Sharma wrote me a paper prescription for Voquezna. I asked her to send it electronically to CVS but she sent the wrong dosage. Getting the dosage wrong is a serious mistake that can kill people. When I saw her for back pain, she gave me cyclobenzaprine, which is contraindicated for patients who have a number of conditions that I have. Sharma never should have prescribed this. A potentially fatal error on her part. I ended up in the ER with severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, tingling in my arms and legs. I'd been fine beforehand. Sharma has very poor social skills and a non-existent bedside manner. During our consultations, she makes no eye contact, rarely speaks, and mumbles in a manner that's difficult to understand. She takes notes on a laptop throughout, instead of listening and responding to the patient. She clearly doesn't take accurate and complete notes, or chooses to ignore them when preparing prescriptions, orders, etc. Communication is one of the most important factors in healthcare. Her lack of adequate communication skills, coupled with her inability to avoid mistakes, makes her completely unsuited for the job. She is an embarrassment to the medical profession and dangerously incompetent. I have only seen Sharma a few times, but she's managed to cause a great deal of damage. She will undoubtedly harm more patients in the future, if her license is not revoked. As a side note, she attended an Ethiopian medical school ranked 751st in world.

Dr. Murphy is a kind and knowledgeable individual. He has been in practice many years and knows many area doctors and specialists. He has a soft manner which my child found comforting. I appreciated how thorough he was in discussing everything. I appreciate his conservative watch-and-see approach to most things. He doesn't push antibiotics for minor things, and they are able to run basic tests like an ear infection in office so there is no going to the lab. The only down side of Dr. Murphy which ultimately led to us transferring care to Dr. Staats was that he always runs behind. Like, HOURS behind. I would intentionally get the first appointment of the day, but they would take sick patients before that. That means my 9:00am appointment would end up as an 11:30 appointment. Waiting for 2.5 hours in a boring room with a toddler is a special type of hell. So we switched to... Dr. Staats is a impeccably on time. We have never waited longer than 15 minutes past our allotted time. Her demeanor is very different from Dr. Murphy in that she is a bit more distant. She is still kind and seems to genuinely like kids (astonishingly not all peds do). We have been very happy with her care and our ease in scheduling sick visits. The office staff leaves something to be desired. The front desk seems to have a lot of turn over. Often, the women working the front desk seem confused and unsure of what they are meant to do. For example, I paid cash at the last visit, and the woman seemed astonished and confused when I asked for a receipt to prove payment. It took several minutes of waiting for one to be generated. The nurses are nice and are diligent with giving immunizations. they make sure to show you the exact medication which is being given as well as the date showing that it has not expired. I appreciate this kind of attention to detail. I do wish that the Well and Sick area were more clearly defined. For example, there is Well seating which contains no toys and Sick seating which has all of the toys. Try keeping a Well kid away from Sick toys. Overall, we are happy and will continue with the practice.

Dr. Marcus is one of the best local orthopedic surgeons with a focus on sports-related injuries. He is one of the frontrunners in cartilage regeneration and uses micro fracture and PRP injections. Office staff was great and Dr. Marcus made me feel very confident about the outcome. Surgery was quick and went well. Rehab was done at the physical therapist co-located with his Springfield office. I may have lost a few degrees of rsnge of motion (expected and disclosed beforehand), but was ablemto return to golf after about 6-month recovery/rehab. No problems since (3years). Late last fall I developed tennis elbow as a result of overuse playing/practicing golf. Went to see Dr. Marcus again. Same great experience. He evaluated the pain and used ultrasound to look for tears/fraying. He gave me the option of a cortisone or platelet rich plasma (PRP) injection. PRP is the new-age alternative to cortisone. They draw your blood and spin it down in a centrifuge and inject a high concentration of platelet rich plasma at the site of inflammation. It's basically the same concept as with microfrature use stem cells to allow the body to heal itself. It's still considered experimental in the US - so it's considered elective and costs almost $1500 vs a cortisone injection. However since it's your body's own cells there is no limit to the number of injections like there is with cortisone shots. Anyway Dr. Marcus numbed my elbow and gave me multiple injections while using the ultrasound to ensure he was hitting the right spots and not damaging the tendons. Pain releif was immediate. Started wearing a Band-It elbow brace and have not had any further issues. Can't say enough about Dr. Marcus's bedside manner and confident attitude. He sees so many young high school athletes with severe injuries that my aging 40 year old issues are cake. Thanks Doc!!!

My husband is in IT and the first he noticed when he entered the office, was that there was no automation in the doctors office. No computers, everything was done with pen and paper. This was his first visit and they did not have him fill out a questionnaire about his medical history nor his family history and the doctor did not ask about it either. Second my husband had made a list of issues he wanted to discuss with the doctor and the doctor barely looked at the list. Dr. Barbano was very condescending and did not even look at one of my husbands main issues, pain in his foot due to gout, even though it was the first issue on the list. I understand that when people come to the office with a list of issues, one might not be able to go over them all but that is when the doctor should tell the patient to schedule another appointment to go over the other issues. It did not seem like Dr. Barbano had any interests in seeing my husband again. My husband felt very much like just another number and that the doctor did not really care. It was like the doctor wanted to find the negative in everything. Needless to say, he is not going back there.
