I can highly recommend Dr. Hally; however, I especially want to recognize his scheduling assistant, Annie. Because I live out of state, my appointment required careful planning--including booking a hotel, arranging a dog sitter, and coordinating other medical visits. You can imagine how upsetting it was to learn that my appointment might need to be moved. When I explained my situation, Annie responded with genuine empathy and assured me she would do everything she could to help. To my surprise and relief, she was able to keep me on the same day by finding a later appointment time. I was truly impressed by her responsiveness and willingness to go the extra mile. I have had it with this place. These people have no consideration for patients, their time, or their pain. I have called four times this past week to get refills on my prescription. I kept receiving the same vague response: "We will send a message to Dr. Ansher/his medical assistant". FOUR TIMES. Nothing happens. No refill. No call back. Not even an explanation or a suggestion that I come in for an appointment. I am about to run out of medication and could end up in pain with my GERD, which can cause gastritis and ulcers. I last called this morning and was told (after being on hold for a while) that I would hear something or get a refill by the end of the day. Still nothing. What is going on? Seriously? Apparently Dr. Ansher was out of office all last week (no one told me), and he was in procedures today, but still couldn't find time to refill my prescription? That is unacceptable. Go elsewhere unless you like dealing with people who keep blowing you off. read more

When I made my appointment, Gina spoke with me in a way that showed excellence and she went far beyond my expectations. I wasn't sure if a nurse practitioner would be able to help with my symptoms, since there weren't any openings with a doctor on the schedule, but Gina patiently explained that the NP could prescribe meds, would consult with the doctor that I wanted to see anyway, and that waiting so many days just to see a doctor wouldn't be a good idea. She used humor and persuasion backed up with knowledge of what the job description included for NPs, and I decided to make the appointment. It is rare that a receptionist takes time in a routine scheduling call to give that level of care. Gina was exceptional. read more

I'm giving a negative 100 review based on the fact this practice takes Medicare - but ONLY for established patients! WTH is up with that?! You can take it for someone you know, but not for a new patient SMH! I even asked if I could pay out-of-pocket for my colonoscopy only to be told I can't because I have insurance! I'm very impressed with this practice. I saw the NP today, who has overseen my care during a physical problem that included hospitalization. She is very knowledgeable. Her recommendations for treatment have been accurate & exactly what has been needed. I began having a problem last week. When I called the office to make an appointment, I was scheduled to be seen the next morning. The staff are all friendly. The office staff are pleasant & well organized. Today was a post hospitalization visit & I was as equally impressed as during my first visit. I would recommend this practice to others & will continue to be seen here. The front desk person was about as uninterested as you could imagine. Didn't bother to look up, couldn't hear anything g she was saying, no effort to help the woman who checked in behind me who hadn't received a call about her appointment, blaring music in the lobby, and didn't bother to get up to help while I moved boxes and a chair that were blocking the entryway so a wife could wheel her husband in in his chair. Just handed me the clipboard with papers to fill out (I guess there's no invitation to fill them out online) and demanded my copay without any conversation whatsoever. don't know how the doctor is going to be but the front desk was embarrassing to the business. read more

This review isn't about the doctor. our doctor is absolutely amazing. However - there hasn't been a single time where office staff was nice, respectful, caring and professional. In 4 years going to the office every single time they pass on tons of paper with same exact information to fill out, no matter how much the break was between the visits. Every paper asks for same information. they always tell you that our rule. I mean come on - can 70 year old change in height? wherher it's 2 week or 2 months - forms forms forms. We are in 21st century where everone has an automated process. Is staff is failing to upload the information every time and leaves it to someone else how is that a patient issue? *** Update several hours after my procedure. Once you get past the front office, everything was awesome; well, as awesome as it can be! Dr Ellison did my procedure and he was fantastic! That front office is absolutely terrible, rude and nonresponsive. I honestly cannot believe that the doctors allow them to treat patients this way. Imagine how much business they would do if they had a staff that actually cared about their patients. Well you have to give one star right?!? Obviously having a colonoscopy is no fun. This Dr started the restrictive diet three days prior, which was hard enough. Then of course, you have the prep which is joyous. My paperwork told me my appt was at 1030AM and to arrive at 945AM. The day before, they texted me a different time, so I called to verify. They never returned my call. I arrive today, at 945AM, for them to tell me they changed my appt to 1130AM!! I am now stuck here for half a day, with a more than empty stomach and zero patience! There are three of us here with the same issue. I have never been this angry at a doctors office. Absolutely unacceptable. Find ANY other office but this one! read more

I recently had a procedure performed by Digestive Disease Physicians. I am very happy that I chose this practice. They were so helpful, professional and attentive. From initial consultation, ongoing preparation communication, to the actual procedure everything was done with excellence and care for the patient. Dr Hurley performed the procedure and was excellent in his communication about the procedure and the outcome. I truly wish we could rate the Doctors separately from their administrative staff. Dr Ansher performed a colonoscopy on me which was great. He answered my questions and followed up as a 5 star doctor. However, you cannot get through to talk to anyone. They call you and you must answer. if you don't you wait on hold for 10-15 minutes. There's no way to automatically get connected to an extension so you must wait for someone to answer just to find out that the person you need to talk to is on the phone and there's no ability to then wait. They will call you back when they have time. When I had my procedure, they didn't tell me to show up 45 minutes early so I showed 15 minutes early and I showed them the note. Lastly on my next visit they coded my procedure as diagnostic instead of preventative. Dr. Answer specifically said he'd taken care of the polyps he found the last time but yet they won't do the next one as "preventative". They tell me I can never have another "preventative" procedure because I had one that found a polyp. My insurance company said that's nonsense that people have follow up preventative procedures all the time after a dr finds a polyp. I can't say for sure but I'm willing to bet they get paid more for a "diagnostic" coding versus a "preventative" one. They kept saying this is insurance fraud but my insurance company assured me it wouldn't be unless the two procedures were related which they are not. Be careful if they code your procedure as "diagnostic" because it goes against one's dedutible rather than the fully covered preventive. read more

On 2022, I was referred to Dr. Hurley by my hematologist. He's an excellent doctor. Great bedside manners and really pays attention to the patient concerns. He's always book and it's difficult to schedule an appointment with him. Yesterday I saw Beth Banker, NP. She's very knowledgeable and nice. She took the time to answer my questions and was not in a hurry, which I appreciated. In the Alexandria site, they have offices on two floors, 3 and 5. You'll have to remember in which floor your appointment is or you'll go to the wrong place. The greatest problem at this practice are the front desk staff. They are very rude on the phone when you're scheduling an appointments and they are extremely rude in person when you're checking in. On all my visits to this practice, I haven't encountered a nice front desk person. They are either on their chatting and don't pay attention to the patients, on their cellphones or eating. The lady who checked me in yesterday was eating chocolate while she was talking to me. I work on the healthcare system and I find this very disrespectful towards the patients. The front desk staff definitely need a better training and better management. They aren't aware they give the first impression to the patients. read more

Whichever admin staff member who picked up my call today is possibly one of the least-helpful and rudest people I've ever spoken with. She made me feel like an idiot for trying to request an appointment and literally hung up on me when I asked questions. Looks like this is an ongoing issue per the other reviews. This is very disappointing as the doctors seem incredible, but the staff is gatekeeping people from being able to experience their care. Dr craig Ellison very nice very helpful treats all like their family the stuff upstairs and the phone system so bad the reason I am going to see that facility just because of the doctor. I don't think they have any kind of medical ethics. Much like the other experiences, the administrative staff here seem to make it a point to make it as difficult as possible to interact and schedule. From calling repeatedly and not getting through to being dismissive via their text line, it's amazing that the doctors allow this to crush their business. I had called in to schedule a colonoscopy (having tried several times to get through on the phone). When I finally got through, and requested "an appointment for a colonoscopy, as referred by my doctor", I was told the next appointment for that was more than a month away. Ok, I get it, those procedures are in demand, or limited scheduling, so I agreed to the next available appointment. Now the date of the appoint,ent is drawing near, and I haven't gotten any information about pre-appointment preparation. Back to the repeated attempts to reach someone by phone without luck. However, their recording does mention that they accept texts, so I try that route. The response I received the next morning was that I don't need any "prep" instructions, as this will only be a pre-consultation, not the actual colonoscopy. That was not indicated when I made the appointment, and frankly, I can't understand why that would even be necessary for a recommended, referred, age-appropriate regular screening. And even if so, why the need to schedule it so far in advance or in-person at all? Haven't we all learned how to do remote engagement/tele-consultation at this point? Seems like just another excuse to collect a fee for a separate visit, honestly. At any rate, when I express my displeasure via their texting mechanism (because it's the only way I've gotten through), my irritation is met with unprofessional responses and an offer to cancel my appointment. As a follow up text, the person on the other end of the line felt the need to tell me "Your a disrespectful!" Great grammar and sentence structure aside, this person felt more compelled by how irritated they were than to actually consider the "customer" in "customer service". Suffice it to say, I'll be going elsewhere. Life is too short to put up with idiots and being treated like a number. I suggest you reconsider your choice if you are looking for an appointment here. read more
