Thank you Therapist Michelle Sherman for being my Therapist during our weekly sessions since 2021(5…read moreyears). The reason I met you was due to suicidal and homicidal ideations. And childhood trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Because of your due diligence, commitment, caring heart and therapeutic processes I prevailed and overcame the triggers from the trauma. You remained consistent in my treatment and gave me a reason to live and want to live and not just exist and encouraged me to continue using Self care routinely and consistently. Your focus of therapy has been to support my emotional well-being, coping skills that kept me focused on my purpose and destiny and not focused on the problems and pain of the past, personal growth, and overall mental health needs. You taught me not to look back, think back, or feel back. But you encouraged me to look, think and move forward to accomplish my DESTINY Thank youuuu and may God Bless you and your precious family.

However, the lingering trauma Palisades Fires brought me to Michele's doorstep for EMDR which she miraculously used to lift the trauma. But so many other things were happening with my family that I continued seeing her and she is a lifesaver. Unlike all the other therapists I have found Michele to be intuitive, willing to work out of the box to come up with solutions, and personally invested in my getting better. I cannot recommend her enough...indeed she is the only therapist I've ever encountered who I would recommend.

If only I could give negative stars. My experience with Brass Tacks and its owner, Angela, was…read moredeeply disappointing and something I feel obligated to warn others about. I paid a $7,650 upfront deposit as instructed in order to coordinate an intervention for my mom - something I was told needed to happen "immediately" because she was at her rock bottom. After several emotional phone calls, I trusted Angela's guidance and moved forward. Ultimately, the intervention never happened because my mom wasn't ready. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of follow-up, support, or any offer of a partial refund, despite the fact that nothing was ever carried out. At the time, I was 26 years old, paying out of my own savings, trying desperately to help my mother. Instead of feeling supported, I was left feeling taken advantage of, financially and emotionally. I understand that not every situation goes as planned, but the absence of integrity, communication, and accountability in this process was devastating. I would strongly caution anyone considering working with this company. I hope you enjoyed a free $7,650 to your bank account, Angela. 5 years later I cannot get over the money you stole from me. Shame on you.

As a mother, I don't even know where to begin…read more When we came to Brass Tacks Recovery and Angela, we truly believed no plan for our son's well being could be created. We felt lost, exhausted, and terrified for him. We had nowhere to go and no idea what to do next. Angela stepped in with availability, empathy, and a solution-focused approach that quite honestly held our entire family together. She helped us create a path forward when we couldn't see one. She understood that as parents, we needed to exhaust every possible option before making the harder decisions. Our hearts were broken, and we struggled to let go, and she honored that. She moved at the pace of our emotions while always keeping our son's safety at the center of every decision. She never shamed us, never rushed us, and never dismissed how painful the process was. Instead, she balanced compassion with clarity in a way that allowed us to move forward when we were finally ready. She held our hands and hearts through the entire process. We are still a work in progress as a family, but we are stronger and wiser now. We better understand how to support our son without interrupting his growth process. Today, he is mentally stable, safe, and moving into the next phase of his recovery journey, something we once feared might never happen. We wholeheartedly recommend Brass Tacks, Angela, and Sarah to any family with a loved one struggling with mental health challenges. Their compassion, steadiness, and expertise make an impossible situation feel survivable, and eventually, hopeful.

I was dating someone with ADHD and we reached out to ADHD Specialists to get some relationship…read morehelp. What isn't obvious is that, when you're dealing with MD's or PhD's who have ADHD themselves, while they may understand the condition really well and have good advice, they STILL HAVE ADHD and it really impacts how they run their operations and conduct themselves in their dealings with customers. The front desk rarely returned my calls and I found out they only hire a part-time college student to run the desk. One of the docs (unnamed out of respect) gave me their cell number and instructed me to text them to set up appointments. Four texts and six weeks later, NO RESPONSE. It was very, very frustrating. I ended up walking away from the ADHD relationship... for me, it was just too hard to deal with an ADHD boyfriend and ADHD counselors when no one around you was very reliable. Their online 'club' for ADHD Couples Success is similarly disorganized and while the webinars are decent, the customer service is also ADHD-plagued or non-existent. There were times when the online videos didn't work -- initially, when I signed up, I was charged nearly $100 and the entire site wasn't working, WTF, they charge $47/month, for what? Chat rooms and videos were non-functioning and the site is really just a souped-up wordpress page that isn't really robust enough for what they say they offer. Webinars start at times other than advertised so you'll get spammed with email about participating in a live webinar only to log in at the proper time and find out it's already ending. Very disorganized and confusing... again, those running the operation have ADHD and haven't put someone in charge to run their enterprise efficiently. Bottom line, the info is good, but the hard work you have to put in to get that info makes it almost not worth it.

Absolutely unacceptable experience, especially from a mental health practice…read more I had a telehealth therapy appointment scheduled for 3:00 PM. I logged on at my scheduled time and waited, but my provider never joined. At 3:17 PM, I called the office and was told she was running approximately 15 minutes behind and that she would call me. I continued waiting. No one called. I eventually had to call the office again, only to then be told that my provider had canceled the appointment because she "couldn't get on Zoom." No call. No text. No email. No attempt to notify me whatsoever. And somehow, when I called at 3:17, I was told she was simply running behind. What makes this particularly upsetting is that this is mental health care. People are not making therapy appointments for something trivial. You have no idea what someone may be struggling with when they show up for an appointment or how much they may have needed that hour. Patients deserve basic communication, reliability, and consideration--especially from professionals entrusted with their mental health. I showed up for my appointment. I waited. I was given incorrect information when I called to find out what was happening. I continued waiting based on that information, and then I had to call a second time just to discover that my appointment had been canceled. To top it off, I was told there wasn't even another appointment available for me next week. Technical difficulties happen. That is not the issue. The issue is how this practice handled them. A simple phone call explaining the situation would have been entirely different. Leaving a mental health patient sitting there waiting, telling them the provider is running late, never following up, and then canceling the appointment without notifying them is extraordinarily unprofessional. Mental health care should be treated with the seriousness it deserves. Patients seeking help deserve better than this. I will also be formally reporting my experience.
