I was so hesitant to see a therapist because the last two were awful and turned me off from therapy completely, but I was also really struggling. My co-worker recommended Rachel to me and from there my life has changed in ways I didn't think was possible. Rachel has not only helped me heal through the trauma of the break up that sent me to her, but she also helped me heal/ recover from: the damage of narcissistic and emotional abuse my ex and his family put me through; the trauma of infidelity; the core wounds and limited beliefs formed in childhood; codependency; low self esteem; people pleasing; self- blame; a deep feeling/belief of shame I had about myself; toxic relationships/friendships/family members; childhood emotional neglect and abuse; my fear of abandonment; beliefs of not being (fill in the blank) enough; and so, so, so much more! Rachel is the most compassionate, amazing woman I have ever met. I am always bragging about how incredible of a therapist she is and I have recommended her to so many of my friends, random strangers, and even my most recent ex-boyfriend (not the one from the break up that sent me to therapy) to her because she's just THAT incredible. She knows how to make you feel comfortable, safe, and supported in whatever you are or are not going through. Her words are kind, comforting, empathetic, and I am always referring back to the notes I take in my therapy sessions with her if I'm having a hard time. Before Rachel, I was a very insecure girl who had no idea who she was, what she wanted, how to handle big emotions, and relied on very abusive men to validate and define her worth. Now, after two and a half years of seeing her once a week, I am a healed, confident, boundary badass of a woman who feels her emotions instead of judges them and will never settle for less than what she wants and deserves. Yes, I still have my bad days (I mean, who doesn't?), but Rachel has helped me find the confidence within myself to make them feel less threatening. And isn't that all we want out of this crazy, little thing we call life? I would not have come this far in all areas of my life if it wasn't for Rachel. I only have one class left and I can honestly say the experience has helped my son tremendously. Ms. Karley Gutierrez is a wonderful instructor. She is patient, caring, knowledgeable and makes the classes feel comfortable and welcoming. She teaches techniques that parents can use at home to help soothe and comfort their babies, while also creating a beautiful opportunity for bonding and connection. One thing I especially appreciated was that we were able to bring other close caregivers who are part of our baby's life. This gave them the opportunity to learn the techniques as well, so they can confidently use them when needed to help calm and soothe the baby. I love that the class encourages the entire support system around baby to be involved. I've especially appreciated learning how intentional, nurturing touch can help with calming, relaxation and overall comfort. It has given me tools I can continue using with my son well beyond the six-week program. I'm sharing this review because I really hope more parents in our community become aware of this resource. Programs like this can be so valuable, especially for new parents who are looking for positive ways to connect with and soothe their babies.
