We extended our lanai years ago and they did a great job. So you wonder why I only rated them 3 out of 5. We were so happy we recommended them to numerous friends looking to expand their lanai who could not get a return call. One mentioned he reached the son who said he'd give his father the message so he could call him back. Never happened. They also never returned our calls when we needed service. Interestingly, I got a bid from DR Aluminum for my screen cage in 2019 but ended up using another local company, (because they'd previously installed my gutters). But SINCE my cage was installed I've relied on DR Aluminum for a myriad of small issues, tears, dog door installation, door handle replacement, door closure replacement. Every time I've called, (after first being ignored, or cancelled upon repeatedly by this other company) they've been gracious and VERY responsive. I've been given appointments within a few days of calling in all cases and their representatives have always shown up when promised, no cancelling, no ghosting. And finally, Bobby. Bobby is their repair guru and a nicer, more efficient person I've yet to meet. He was here yesterday to replace the defective door handle the original company had installed improperly, and which had broken. He's always been right on time, is amazingly cheerful, (even in blisteringly hot weather) and has 'fixed' whatever is broken or needs modification in short order, properly and professionally. We set up an install of a door screen in April, finally got the door installed in late July after some delays on the date previously set. No Biggie there. The door isn't completely straight from side to side & it's noticeable from the front. I was told it was due to the bricks on the walk space. HOWEVER ,when we called to pay the balance, $700 remained to be paid, I was informed there would be a 4% surcharge using a credit card. At the time of the agreement I was told 3%. They claimed the 4% was on my invoice, it wasn't. I know businesses here love to include that 3% surcharge on credit card use & I've never seen that anywhere else.....BUT 4%? I know, it's just 1% more, but it's the principle of the thing! IF you use this Company, get ALL the financials in writing & make sure they won't jack up their % over time if inflation keeps going up. I don't think it's our fault they took 3-4 months to install this door. read more

I can't comment on the work but rather their people skills. We were stopped at a light turning left and waiting for the on coming traffic. One of their trucks laid on the horn when there were still vehicles coming. Rude, uncalled for, and a poor representation of the care they probably take in their work. DR replaced our roofed caged lanai. When the designer presented the drawing/design I pointed out what I thought was a flaw and would allow water to come in. He said "We do it like this all the time". Ok. Well guess what it leaked in 2 places. They came out 4 times to try and fix it. It is an awkward location to get to and the repairs are an ugly mess. I thought it was fixed but we really haven't had any real rain for a long time. Now that we've had some real rain there is a puddle in our lanai. Had the designer listened to me we would probably not be in this situation. I would not recommend them. It seems the designers, the fabricators, and installers don't communicate with each other. read more

We had damage done accidentally to our lanai's metal framing by our landscaping contractor's employees. DR Aluminum inspected the damage and knew exactly what repairs to make, with impressive expertise. After the most recent hurricane, I called DR for help. We had lost some screens on our cage. Like you could imagine, they were just swamped with calls for help. Yet, when I called them, they were very friendly and understanding of my situation. They explained that they have been overwhelmed with calls for repairs and that a lot of their crews were out because their homes had sustained major damage and they were working very shorthanded. But, they had worker in the area that was looking at other customers and was doing measurements. They said he couldn't do major repairs because he didn't have a crew. He came by two days later and I thought he was just going to measure. But he said he could just put up the screens himself without a crew. The entire process took about 5 hours and DR staff was so friendly and courteous during such a difficult time. I really appreciated their efforts and how understanding they were of the situation. read more

I just recently had a representative from DR Aluminum(Kim L) at my home to give us a estimate for our lanai extension . He gave us a very fair estimate. We had 4 other contractors give us an estimate. DR was not the lowest but Kim presented himself and the company so well we decided to to choose them. Unfortunately circumstances changed for us and we needed to put the job on hold. DR sent our deposit back which was much appreciated. DR is a class act! Special thanks to Kim. He's a real gentleman! In 2012 DR Aluminum built an extended lanai at my home. Eight years later, because of settling of the pad, the screen door has been crooked and difficult to open and close. Today I called for a repair and they sent someone the same day. Bobby, the repair man, straightened the door and the frame and checked the rest of the screen. All is good as new! I appreciate the customer service - they are a very responsive and courteous business, from Amber in the office to Bobby the great service tech. Recommend this business highly. read more

First I will talk about their product and then their lack of integrity. After I signed the contract, they were 4 weeks late in starting my Lanai. Since I am a snowbird I told their salesman Kim that I would have to wait until I came back in the fall. He assured me they had done 100's of these while the client was away and hadn't had any problems. Kim presented himself the best in the four companies I interviewed for my extended Lanai so I trusted him. I know, my mistake. I promptly paid their bills as agreed when they sent them up to and including the final bill in May. I June I find out that my Lanai did not pass inspection and they were aware of it. Why bill me if it didn't pass??? I called and they came and jury rigged some footer to hold the wires and it passed inspection. During storm season over the summer one of my neighbors said the wires were swinging around and were going to tear the screen. They never tied them down! Thank God for neighbors. In addition, the contract clearly stated they were supposed to take out a small section of existing screen and replace it with the same screen they were using for the new Lanai. I came down for a couple weeks in August and there were clearly 2 different screens. I called and they sent one of their guys to look at it (after I was up north again) and he said they were the same. I asked Kim to verify. He came by and looked and said they were not the same, but that DR never said they were going to change it. I said I would wait until I got back and review the contract. A few days later Kim called me and said he was reviewing my notes again and noticed where they did say they were going to replace and that they were now going to do it. It was clear as day on the contract for an additional $700. Two lies in 1 week from these guys. During negotiations I met with Kim and received their quote. DR was the 2nd highest bid so I called Kim and said I wanted to use DR and asked if he could do something for the price. He called me back and said he could reduce the price and I agreed. Little did I know he lowered the price by changing the quality screen I had ordered. On the revised contract they had scratched out the screen when they changed the price. Once again I should have caught it, but they should have told me that is how they lowered the price. This price reduction and agreement was done over the phone. That was totally unethical.
