This is clearly a family practice and it shows, there's a lot of heart behind the work. Plus the waiting room has a fridge with mini pellegrino bottles in it. what's not to love?

Dr. Warner was patient, clear, gentle, and efficient---as well as kind and very professional. His Dental Assistant, Andrea was excellent. I consider myself to be a medically savvy consumer and had tried two other dentists but was not happy. My situation was a molar with a root canal that went bad and a crack beyond repair. This fused my molar to my jaw a bit and the root were deep and plenty large! I sit here right now the night of having it removed! The good: -Dr Borenstein was very friendly, calming, knowledgable. Quick. He had ample friendly support staff. -His place was very clean, nice offices in a larger building on Wilshire in Beveryly Hills. -Most important, the surgery was great. I opted to be put under, which was a twilight state. Honestly, I don't remember much at all. But apparently the whole thing was less than 30 min. Staff was friendly waking me up. Tooth is gone with dissolvabe stitches. They gave me prescreptions for some painkillers should I need them and anti-biotics. -Dr. Borenstein called me later that night to make sure I was ok. I didn't answer cause I was konked out, but getting the message felt nice. -They also will ask to do a follow up appointment to make sure everything is okay about a week after. -The staff was also very accomidating to my schedule. I had to reschedule due to an emergency and they were fine with booking me at another time. The controversial... I guess? -I don't get this hate his staff is getting. Laura is SUPER friendly. She's just sarcastic. It's her humor. I'm pretty sarcastic so maybe I just get it. Many times in my life have I tried to crack a sarcastic joke only to have people that just don't get sarcasm think I'm some kind of evil monster. Trust me on this one, joke around with her and the staff and things will be fine. Don't take life too seriously. And to one specific reviewer- not only did I bring my mom, but my dad and their service dog came, too. The staff was friendly and accomidating to all of them. -Someone mentioned tons of paperwork? I guess they've never been to a doctor, ever? Like ever ever? I got about 4 simple pages emailed to me that I filled out in PDF format and emailed right back and that was it. The Bad -They don't take insurance. However they will file an out of network claim for you. However they WILL be very up front about the costs. -It's not the cheapest place. But, I have learned, especially with teeth, you get what you pay for. Beverly hills tends to have some of the best dental work, I'd imagine due to the demands of the local clientele. Let's see what I get back from insurance and I will update this review with specifics. -The parking. It's under the building. It was valet only, a bit pricey, and waaaay backed up. So I had to get out of the car and let my dad park so I could make my appointment on time. Summary -So yeah, I was warned about some pain due to my situation. Indeed, it's tooth stuff, there is pain. But it's not as bad as I thought. The experience was smooth and professional. I opted to be put out. Worth every penny to me. As these things go, this was a great experience. I would urge some reviewers to not review bomb someone based on one experience. Especialy if that bomb isn't even based on the actual service. And if someone is going to do 1 star, I would love a very detailed report as to why. What specifics could the vendor hear and learn from? Short of just staff personality issues?

Unfortunately I was referred to him by a new dentist when my old dentist retired. In the midst of a lower molar extraction, he yelled at me while he was hurting me. 'You should be ASLEEP'. It's CRAZY when you move.' I responded that I couldn't do that because it cost another thousand dollars for sedation. He said 'Well it's possible I might've given you a little break if I knew you would be like this', and then proceeded to plow into my mouth again. Perhaps there's better approach for helping someone relax when what you're doing is causing pain? At the end of it he walked out of the room without saying a word. No, 'We're done, you doing OK?' Nothing. Nobody talked to me about post surgical instructions. I found attached to my bill later that night a typed set of instructions. After the fact, I was able to research other surgeons. Borenstein charged $1585 for an extraction and a bone graft. Every other well recommended oral surgeon I spoke to quoted no more than 800 or $900. If I go forward with an implant and crown, there is no chance I will let him put his hands on me again. I just left the office after the one week follow up to make sure that the bleeding I am experiencing from a rather deep incision is not abnormal. He was even more condescending and unpleasant than the first time I encountered him. Simple questions about the process going forward for an implant, were answered as though I were an idiot. In addition... and I am not someone who usually cares about these things...but, that office is very noticeably not clean or kept up. Medical chairs are worn and scuffed, walls are dirty, baseboards peeling. All in all, a terrible experience.

I was scolded by Tracy, the hygienist, for having poor gum health even though I see a dentist every six months with no mention of any issues. She recommended gum scaling and root planing and said it was URGENT I get this done. Well, I didn't go to the ER or Urgent Care (that's what URGENT means to me), but I did go to an actual periodontist the next week, who said I was fine. If you like spending your money and time on painful and uncomfortable procedures, then by all means, this is the office for you. If you prefer not to feel pressured into unnecessary work, then go somewhere else!

I left the office not only with my dental issues taken care of, but feeling calm, relaxed and peaceful. I attribute this to the unhurried and almost homey feel to her office and to Dr. Olah's friendly but very confident manner. If there's an analogy, it was like going to a folksy country doctor; no rush, taking the time to find out about my health. And that started when I walked in and was greeted by Heather, who was similarly friendly and genuine. Very pleased to have discovered Dr. Olah's office and to be in her care.

I'd never had surgery before and well I went onto the internet and read how horrible the pain is when getting the wisdom teeth extracted... How they could hear teeth cracking, etc. I went to get the surgery done the next morning, Dr. Uyehara put me to ease, as others have mentioned his demeanor puts you to ease about the whole process. No one likes mouth work done but he makes you feel much calmer about the process. Anyway back to the surgery, I just had sedation and was awake for the surgery. I heard NOTHING. He was so professional and easy on my mouth. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor. He knows what he's doing so was able to work swiftly and promptly, while having excellent work done on my mouth. He would tell me after he extracted each tooth and I couldn't believe it. I was like really?!? already? I felt nothing! I was so thankful. It was the best process that any surgery can be! Post surgery - I was expecting to have to take some time off for recovery but nope I was back at work after one day of resting. No swelling. You can just tell with my recovery that he went easy on my mouth. If I need any other dental work on my mouth I will definitely be back to Dr. Uyehara. Unfortunately, Dr. Goodman, who has a background working in clinics, runs his Beverly Hills practice as if it's a clinic, too. He flits about between too many patients and has his assistants finish up procedures. Which wouldn't be okay, even if they didn't mess up. Which they did, a mistake compounded by the good doctor not being particularly interested. Details below. Dr. Goodman was all attentive at first when he saw that my veneers were old, even texting me from out of town that he was thinking about me. Once he found out I had no intention of getting new veneers but was only there for the emergency, he told me that I had eight cavities (which no one else has been able to find). However, when I didn't bite on getting any more work done, the doctor seemed to lose interest in me. I texted him that the first area he'd worked on was still in pain, and suggested it was perhaps due to some excess cement (which my endodonist later removed after Dr. Goodman failed to address my complaints). The cement meanwhile pushed my tooth to the side, leaving a gap that traps large amounts of food that push on the already sore tooth quite painfully and are difficult to get out. I could go on about how during treatment Dr. Goodman slammed my mouth shut down on my numbed tongue twice -- the second after I'd complained about having bitten down something. Or how his office called me in twice for the same crown, which I only found out about after waiting for over two hours in the sagging couches in the reception area. Or how he berated his front office in front of everyone for messing up. But I'll just cut to where I am now, eating soft food, $40,000 out of pocket so far in costs to endodontist, anesthegiologist, and two maxilofacial pain specialists. I may not be able to afford the recommended next course of treatment involving putting a new implant and crown in and I may have to settle for pulling the tooth out. Dr. Goodman won't be doing it. He has messed up his last tooth in my mouth. Someone else will fix the mess.
