I scheduled a procedure with this office nearly two weeks in advance and traveled from the United States specifically for it. The experience was disappointing and, ultimately, unprofessional.
The office changed my appointment time after it was booked. Ok, I moved my schsedI to make it work. When I sent a detailed medical history in advance, prepared specifically for the doctor, I received no response to it at all, except a message confirming payment details. The preparation instructions I was given amounted to only a few words.
On the morning of the procedure, after I had completed the required fasting and prep, I asked the office to confirm that the doctor had reviewed my medical records before proceeding, which matters because I have a complex history including adrenal insufficiency. In response, the office cancelled the appointment. They later confirmed the doctor and anesthesiologist had in fact reviewed my information, and still cancelled, knowing I had already fasted and prepared and that this was my only available date before flying home.
Asking a physician to confirm he has reviewed a patient's records before a sedated procedure is a reasonable safety request. Cancelling a fasted, prepared, out-of-town patient at the last minute in response to that request is not how a professional practice should operate. I cannot recommend this office to other patients, particularly those traveling for care or with complex medical needs. read more
