Secondly, once there regardless of how small or large the electrical issue is the minimum is two hours of labor. Finally, if it's as easy a fix as mine was they will talk to you about it first. Even offer to walk you through it if you call 'em back. Thankfully my issue was easily fixed by buying two new smoke CO2 detectors and following the manufacturers installation instructions to the "T". Last time I didn't do that and ended up believing it was an electrical issue with my alarm circuit. We have one inside and one outside of each room on both floors. Well, he was absolutely correct it was the two detectors. Should have waited to remove the plastic insert over the batteries until the installation instructions informed to. Instead, Had originally removed these and checked to ensure battery was installed. Do not do this. Follow the instructions. Talking with the electrician first, saved me hundreds of dollars. I told him the system was obviously frozen but seemed to be working fine now (we'd followed the instructions of friend and were able to thaw the system). I told him we still wanted to see about having it serviced though. He said ma'am, an air conditioning unit isn't like a car. You can't change it's oil or spark plugs. It doesn't require maintenance to work. It either works or it doesn't. I said fine, it works. So obviously all of those companies offering AC/Heating servicing are just ripping people off.
