The rooms have a closet and a desk area. The staff here are 5 stars!! The restaurant can accommodate all dietary needs and the food is delicious! They have a spa, yoga rooms, and heated pool. This is the perfect place to stay for kiteboarders with non-kiting partners!! Great place to be if your not a kiter, and great beach below to launch from for kiters!

First day arriving and not a good start. August 15th 2023- No one to greet us and explain the…read moreproperty. I was told to go to the bar and Elisa would check us in. Back history - we got the Poseidon room 11 most likely the most expensive about $415 a night and we were excited to start our vacation with a great view in luxury. Not at all luxury and more like a bad Airbnb experience, let me explain below in details. By the way I complained to the manager via WhatsApp since that was the form of communication, ***and read to the end to hear the excuses from all of these issue outlined below We spoke to Elisa and right away was charged the 50% remaining fee upfront? Would think this is done at check out but ok. Then here is our experience: 1. Entered the room it was literally 90+ degrees. I told the manager prior I would be there at 3pm and then before that time I was running late and would be there at 5:30. You would think the room would be nice an chilled since we traveled over 2 hours to get to this location. Maybe some water or something as a customary gesture... no crickets 2. The door is digital, would not lock after we enter asked Elisa to let us know, she didn't know we eventually figured it out on our own but it meant that one of us had to stay behind since we couldn't lock it. So far wasting our vacation to figure something so simple not even the bar tender would know.... 3. The fire pit on the balcony which is one of the amenities of the room wouldn't start and asked Elisa and of course didn't know. 4. The bed for our son was not made and no sheets or pillows. It was clear it was three of us and we would not fit on one bed.... 5. They brought us a fan since after 3 hours still not. The fan was disgusting!!! Dust all of it like in a kitchen with grease...Don't understand what kind of customer service this establishment thinks is a standard. 6. Salamander in our room they said it's normal so I guess we deal with it and let it sleep with us. 7. No toiletries, we didn't see any in the cubby of the shower but then later on was told it was there all along. When I spoke to the manager he said that they can't have the air conditioner running because this area has electric issues so they don't want to consume the energy and thankful that they have it.... As if saying I was a spoiled brat and should know that having it on all day was selfish. Hay I'm paying like $500 a night and the most expensive room so maybe I should get the best treatment or service that they can offer. The bartender at night was the nicest and polite person their and was able to order food before they closed. The good things about this place was that they offered a place to eat when there really wasn't a lot in the area. The free breakfast was not really anything - black coffee ( had to ask for milk as if it was too much to give me for my coffee) and some cereal kids boxes were left around. To get to beach, you have to walk down a bit so if you are not a hiker don't bother since it is not handicap friendly- not an issue for us but could see a problem for older people. The jacuzzi at night was not working - they were going I turn it on but heard some linking noises when they tried and the manager came back and said it's the summer they don't usually have this on... guess no jacuzzi under the stars. They didn't turn in the fire pit and the bartender delivered our drinks before our meal which was nice. Think the bartender at least helped the situation a little since the manager at night was horrible. You know when someone talks to you and the thing is they don't apologize at all or accept that the service is bad and here is what they would do... One last thing - why give me a menu showing Mexican prices and then charge me at the end US DOLLARS?? Think this I a bit illegal and taking advantage since then they also take the currency in MEXICAN and convert it back which makes it almost extra charge... they did the same thing with the remains 50% hotel fee, it was cheaper when I didn't it online. Something not right here, Never again! Let me be clear if I got a small normal room I would say who cares deal with it at least it has a good view, etc but for what I rented it was the highest amount and was treated poorly.

This is my 4th trip to La Ventana and my 2nd stay at Kurt and Marina's…read more The two of us like to stay in room 4 or room 5 which both have two queen beds. The room is spacious enough for the two of us and all of our kite gear! We have stayed in a one bed room, but for those who do, they usually leave their kite gear outside the front of their rooms and that is totally fine, your stuff is safe here! The rooms have their own bathroom with shower. This place is a little older like most places here, but they keep it clean and provide clean towels everyday! Between the hotel and the beach they have a small RV area were people camp, maybe about 10 spots. The staff here are AMAZING. Kurt is no longer with us, but Marina is here to welcome you with a smile and Rocky can help you out with all your needs. They now have a mini restaurant and serve breakfast and lunch most days from 7:30-3:00 pm for an additional charge and dinner on select nights. The food is simple and good. They do have an outdoor community kitchen and each room gets their own small fridge in the kitchen area along with a basket to store your food. The beach is right in front of this establishment. It does have small rocks along the beach. For most kiters this will not make any difference. However, if you are a foiller you need to turn your foil upside down before you reach the rocks as this can be an added challenge. They do have wifi here, if you are on the lower floor the signal is very weak and we usually have to sit by the door or go to the kitchen area. The roof and kitchen area have strong signal, but remember we are in a remote area of mexico, so it is not super fast internet. It is basically good for email, facebook, etc (not streaming movies!!) Prices are reasonable and parking has never been an issue. We definitely like staying here!

The property is gorgeous, beautiful landscape and pools. The water in the pool was pretty cool, so unless it is really hot, the pool may seem a bit on the cold side. Based on what I saw, half of the property is condos, the other half is a hotel. On their website it appears their nightly rate is $110 a night, not bad. My friend said the monthly rate was $1100, not verified. They have studios and multi-bedroom rooms. Each room has kitchen, and the nicer rooms even have their own washer and dryer. The property has a beautiful view of La Ventana. So why would we not stay here?? We are kiteboarders and this property is NOT on the beach so you would need to pack your gear in your car to go back and forth to the beach to kite, unlike beach properties where you just carry your kite gear a couple of feet to the beach. They do have a restaurant on the property.

All the rooms are separated here so you may share one wall, but you're not sharing a whole house where you can hear everything that's going on. Everybody has their own room their own bathroom it was just really awesome. From the food to the activities, the staff really had it covered. We enjoyed four wheelers and massages every day..... I also saw horses on the beach and jet skis. Fishing trips right off the beach I just can't say enough good things. I brought in guests from South Dakota and North Carolina. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed their selves and can't wait to go back.

From the staff that tends to every need (amazing chef) to the views that are unmatched. You can fly in via Cabo Or La Paz, so whatever wets your whistle. The resort has a very quiet, private feel to it, despite being nearly fully booked. We used plenty of the amenities with our group, including the gym, meeting areas, golf course, and dining options. Everything made for a great stay for our active group, but we had plenty of opportunities to relax on site. The spa is next level. Several from our group booked massages and said it was the best they've ever had. The rest of us just enjoyed the included spa area with sauna, steam room, cold plunge, hot tub, and pools. It was such a cool environment to unwind and socialize (private areas separated by gender). I have to give a special shoutout to Samantha, one of the staff members here. She was one of the first I met on site. From the beginning, she was friendly, attentive, and constantly looking for ways to make us more comfortable and improve our experience. A couple examples: we saw on the agenda that there was some pickleball play (with instruction) scheduled. When we showed up to the court, we couldn't find the instructor. Samantha was nearby, and quickly tracked down the right person to contact and had the instructor there very quickly! Another example was when I was looking to swim laps in their amazing lap pool. I wanted to track the workout, but wasn't sure about the exact length of the pool. I asked Samantha, and she wasn't sure, so she disappeared for a couple minutes before returning to confirm the official length (25 meters). Not to mention the churros and crepes were a special addition to any itinerary and should not be missed. The fresh coconut water from the iconic blue bus at the beach is a must. Coming to the stay, we stayed once at the upper floor and once with a plunge pool. It was comfortable and the room service was pretty good. Definitely on the pricy end but definitely recommend the splurge for sone celebration and much needed break from the monotony of everyday hustle.

And in between...fabulous fishing. They will cook your catch for you or prepare it for Smokey's smokehouse where they will smoke or flash freeze and vacuum seal your dorado, tuna, etc. We fished up and down the Baja until we found Los Pescadores. The cost was 380 pesos. The hotel manager, (yes the manager), ALEXIA, arrived on time and was professional and friendly. We arrived at the hotel in the evening, and our room was ready. This boutique hotel's location on the Malecon is perfect. In addition, the hotel's entrance is really nice with a boho chic vibe. Our room, Unit 1, was about 900 square feet with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, dining room, and kitchen. This room did not have a view of the ocean (we booked late in the game). Upon first entering the room, it looked really nice; also decorated in a boho chic vibe. There are a lot of steps inside this room. For example, the living area is sunken from the entrance and the kitchen is sunken from the living room. The same thing occurs upstairs to the bedrooms and bathroom. People with mobility issues or children might want to consider other hotel options. Regarding the condition of the unit, it was good. The kitchen was fully outfitted for cooking, and the appliances were in new condition. We did have an issue with the safe, as it was not secured to the wall. It appeared it had been pulled away from the wall for some reason because the holes in the wall were visible. We reported the issue, and they secured the safe the following day. We also had an issue with hot water in the shower and sink. It was somewhat hit or miss; not a huge issue for us. WIFI in the room interacting with the smart TV was troublesome at times. There is no pool at this hotel. In room massage services are available for $90 per hour. Regarding the service, it was fantastic (FIVE STARS). In addition to picking us up at the airport, ALEXIA helped arrange excursions including a beach tour and sand boarding adventure for a really great price. In addition to ALEXIA, all of the staff members were friendly and professional including FRIEDA, CONCEPCION, and PRICILLA. Overall, we had a great experience at Casa Al Mar with only a coupe of minor room issues; one of which we reported, and they handled it right away. Booking in advance for a balcony room with an ocean view is recommended.
